Green Issues

I figure that we need to go as “green” as we all can possibly become these days. I’ve been told that there are website hosting companies that are doing what they can in order to become environmentally friendly, which I think is pretty darn cool. I’ve always been a recycling freak. I grew up with parents from the “hippie” generation and recycling has always been something that just came naturally due to their generation and their lifestyles.

There is so much more to being “green” than recycling, but it is something that we all can do and should be doing as much as possible. Where I live our taxes pay for our trash removal and recycling pick-ups. They provide us with the bins, one for plastic and glass, the other one for paper.

Each week all we need to do is place the containers on the curbside and the truck comes and picks them up and hauls them away. The only way that they can make it any easier would be to provide a person to stand in the corner of the kitchen or garage and separate and dispose of the items, and that just isn’t realistic now is it.

So I don’t understand why there aren’t more blue bins on the curb on recycling day. It really irks me to know that people are just to darn lazy to make such a small effort that would make such a difference to us all in the end.

Web Hostings

I was doing some looking around online this afternoon at work. Most of us had a few minutes to spare before heading out into the rush hour traffic so it’s time like this that we take advantage of having Internet access at our desks. The topic of conversation lately has been web hosting. I had no idea that there were so many web hosting companies offering so many varieties of options. One of the girls at work discovered that there are several webhosting sites that are going green, which we all thought was pretty cool, so we checked them out real quick like.

There is a great web site that has ratings and reviews of various webhostings at webhostingrating dot com. It really has a lot of good information that we have all enjoyed and learned from. When we get our teeth into something we really chew on it for a good long while until we spit it out to be done with it and we have just about worn this subject out at this point. But I am going to look at a few more options and I want to read some more of the reviews and then we can move on to another subject for next week. Lord knows what that will be!

Going Green, It’s Every Where

I find it interesting that going green has become such a big issue. Don’t get me wrong, I think it is great and I try my best to do right by our Mother Earth when possible. I have always been into recycling and have turned a good amount of people onto recycling through out the years. So I am happy to see such a big push these past few years.

I was browsing online earlier today and found an interesting site that rates and reviews website hosting companies. After a few clicks I cam upon the 10 top rated Green Web Hosting companies, which really tickled me. I didn’t know that there was such a thing and was fascinated to see that these companies are doing what they can in becoming a respectable green web host.

If we all take the time to do what it takes to become greener in our every day lives, we just might have a chance in surviving a few more decades, at least I hope so!

The Emergence of Green Web Hosting

I am all about going and being as “green” as possible these days. It isn’t really difficult considering that I was raised by parents that were tuned in to saving valuable energy and totally into recycling since they were young. They were from the hippie days and they taught me a lot during my childhood in order for me to continue their efforts and ways of life that they and I are so proud of.

I’m happy to have found that there are many opportunities out there for us to help us all go “green“, including ways to get the  best web hosting sites that are supporting the “green” movement. At Web Hosting Geeks.com they have provided us with the top 8 web hosting companies that are Eco-friendly. These sites are using alternative and/or renewable energy, they are planting trees, recycling waste and purchase RECs in order to power their data centers and I think that this is simply awesome! I would anyone to check this list out at web hosting geeks dot com and find a green web hosting that would work for them to help contribute to this important movement.

For more information you can check out their blog as well that has several posts concerning Green Web Hosting, it’s all good!

Really Green PRS Custom 24 Flame Electric Guitar

Although I am not one bit crazy about the weird green color of this good prs custom 24 flame electric guitar, I am happy with the price that I came up with. I’m just grateful that it isn’t me paying for it and that I just had to do the leg-work to find the darned thing and send the link to my parents so that they can get a better look at it and decide if they are really going to buy it for my pain-in-the-butt little brother Eric, who always has been spoiled rotten ever since the day he was brought into this world.

You see my dad really wanted a son and after having 3 girls in a row he was so happy to finally spawn a son that he totally went nuts and just spoiled the brat something fierce and still does. So I’m sure that they won’t think too hard about spending the just under $3,000 price tag that is attached to this particular electric guitar. Me, I’d rather spend that kind of money on a car or something that I really need. I’m sure that after a few months Eric will be tired of his new toy and it will end up under his bed or in the closet with all of his other stuff that he receives and gets bored with so quickly. My mom blames it on his ADHD but he isn’t fooling us girls any, he is just a spoiled brat, plain and simple.
