Famous Birthday Quotes

I was looking around online for a free leap year birthday card to send to a friend who is celebrating his birthday this year on February 29th since there is actually a February 29th this year.

I couldn’t find any birthday leap year cards at the few stores that I’ve frequented in the past couple of weeks and now that the big day is here I’m reduced to send an ecard. There is nothing wrong with an ecard, but there is nothing like the real thing for some folks. I used to be able to find all kinds of good quality free ecards, years ago, but then so many places started charging and I’m not into that scene. So the free ones that are left aren’t all that good, funny, cute, etc….

Hallmark.com used to be my favorite, they used to have the best free ones. But I don’t even go there anymore, why walk into what you know will be a disappointment. Anyway while searching today I found these cool Famous Birthday Quotes and though I’d share it here.

Beauty Salon Equipment Supplies By Elegans

Next week will be a great week if the weather could only cooperate a bit more. The kids will be out of school for their spring break and we are all piling into the car and heading down to North Carolina to spend some time with Judy and her kids. Judy and I have been very close friends since the fourth grade. Even though she moved down south, an eight hour drive from here, we have managed to keep in close contact with each other using our cell phones and of course there is always email and Facebook that we can rely on to communicate with each other.

Judy is in the process of opening up her own beauty salon. It will be good to be right there with her to get a good look at all of the things that she has been telling me about. Finding the right beauty equipment for sale has been a challenge for her. She is lucky that her mother lives less than 5 miles away and used to work as a beautician before they moved down there. I have always been envious of their close mother/daughter relationship. My mother and I rarely talk. I can’t imagine my mother just randomly coming over to the house and just hang out for the day. With her it still requires an invitation and it takes hours to get the place cleaned up before she is scheduled to arrive.

Anyway it looks like she has decided on the salon equipment sydney that she found online with the link that I found and sent her a few weeks ago. That makes me feel good to have been able to contribute to her new goal, even living so far away from each other. Watch out North Carolina, here we come!

Cigar Samplers

My mother just now posted the Christmas day pictures that were taken on her camera on Facebook to share with everyone. Bless her heart she tries so very hard to master all of today’s latest technologies. I know that a lot of our senior citizens are so intimidated by all of that tekki stuff that they really miss out on all that there is out. It took my parents, especially my mother, a good long while before they would even consider to just sit down in front of a computer and allow me to show them so that they could see what it was all about. Dad finally caught on pretty well, but mom basically settled for learning how to use their email and it wasn’t until last September that I got them both to give Facebook a try!

So I was really tickled that she got the pictures posted today. My favorite picture of all is when my Dad was opening the present that I gave him which was The Ultimate Plasencia Sampler that I posted a picture of below. He was grinning ear to ear. I know he really wanted to light one up right then and there, but mom would have kicked his butt for smoking in the house. I found some great cigar deals online, but even at discount prices cigars aren’t cheap.

Email Marketing Options

Was reading an interesting blog post about email marketing that my sister sent to me in a link on Facebook. As I have mentioned we are in the process of starting our own small family run and owned business and we are looking at various marketing options. The Yellow Pages are out of the question, it’s all about the Internet these days and those advertising options are a whole new ballpark for us. We have a lot to figure out, but we have plenty of time and aren’t going to rush into anything, baby steps, we want to do this thing right the first time.

Sheetz Customer

I just got my Sheetz customer appreciation card which entitle me to save 3 cents a gallon as long as I make sure the sales clerks scans my card. I will also expect to receive an email once a month to let me know what item from their convenience store for free, like a free yogurt, a free bottled water, or a free package of candy. I love Sheetz, they all most always have the best price for gas as it is so saving another 3 cents will be welcomed.

Easier Communication

I’ve never had an interest in living in the city. I grew up in the country and plan to live here until I die. Sometimes I do wish I had a little more contact with the outside world. My sister told me about www.wildbluedeals.com and next time I am in town visiting the local library I’m going to check it out. I’m thinking that maybe what I need to better stay in touch is internet service at home. I have e-mail and a facebook account but don’t check them regularly. I’d love to be able to use them more to keep up with family and friends! It seems like no one writes letters anymore and I get tired of talking on the phone. There are only so many hours in the day and I feel like I’m just saying the same thing over and over again to different people. How much easier would it be if I could just type up one update and e-mail it out or post it? Same for sharing pictures. No more printing and mailing them to share.
