Summer Time at Myrtle Beach

One of my friends (who is a co worker of mine as well) who I’m trying to talk into going along with me to Myrtle Beach this summer has a good amount of knowledge about the place and the Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resorts. She apparently spent most of her childhood summers in Myrtle Beach. She still goes there for summer vacation, when she can and has watched the place change and evolve throughout the years.

Come to find out, she has stayed at several of the nicer Myrtle Beach Resorts and has strong opinions on all of them and has stated that she will come over one evening so that we can jump on the computer and google “Beach Resorts Myrtle Beach” and see what we can come on with and decide upon to get the ball rolling. I’m getting more anxious and excited about Spring being right around the corner. And with the coming of Spring means that Summer will be right behind and I’m all about Summer!

I’m going to lose a few pounds so that I can squeeze into the bathing suit that I bought last year and never had a chance to wear. It’s so cute and I got such a deal on it, I really want to be able to take it out of the dresser door and use it this year, as much as I possibly can. It might as well be worn at Myrtle Beach.

Old Folks Need Love Too

A farmer stopped by the local mechanic shop to have his truck fixed. They couldn’t do it while he waited, so he said he didn’t live far and would just walk home.

On the way home he stopped at the hardware store and bought a bucket, and a gallon of paint. He then stopped by the feed store and picked up a couple of chickens and a goose. However, struggling outside the store, he now had a problem… how to carry his entire purchases home.

While he was scratching his head he was approached by a little old lady who told him she was lost. She asked, ‘Can you tell me how to get to 1603 Mockingbird Lane?’

The farmer said, ‘Well, as a matter of fact, my farm is very close to that house. I would walk you there but I can’t carry all these things.’

The old lady suggested, ‘Why don’t you put the can of paint in the bucket. Carry the bucket in one hand, put a chicken under each arm and carry the goose in your other hand?’

‘Why thank you very much,’ he said and proceeded to walk the old girl home. On the way he says ‘Let’s take my short cut and go down this alley. We’ll be there in no time.’

The little old lady looked him over cautiously then said, ‘I am a lonely widow without a husband to defend me. How do I know that when we get in the alley you won’t hold me up against the wall, pull up my skirt, and have your way with me?’

The farmer said, ‘Holy smokes lady! I’m carrying a bucket, a gallon of paint, two chickens, and a goose. How in the world could I possibly hold you up against the wall and do that?’

The old lady replied, ‘Set the goose down, cover him with the bucket, put the paint on top of the bucket, and I’ll hold the chickens.’

Interesting Winter Tips

Here are some helpful hints that could make your winters easier to deal with …Here is to a safe and blessed NEW YEAR!!!

– Keep your headlights clear with car wax! Just wipe ordinary car wax on your headlights. It contains special water repellents that will prevent that messy mixture from accumulating on your lights – lasts 6 weeks.

 – Squeak-proof your wipers with rubbing alcohol! Wipe the wipers with a cloth saturated with rubbing alcohol or ammonia. This one trick can make badly streaking & squeaking wipers change to near perfect silence & clarity.

– Ice-proof your windows with vinegar! Frost on it’s way? Just fill a spray bottle with three parts vinegar to one part water & spritz it on all your windows at night. In the morning, they’ll be clear of icy mess. Vinegar contains acetic acid, which raises the melting point of water—preventing water from freezing!

– Prevent car doors from freezing shut with cooking spray! Spritz cooking oil on the rubber seals around car doors & rub it in with a paper towel. The cooking spray prevents water from melting into the rubber.

 – Fog-proof your windshield with shaving cream! Spray some shaving cream on the inside of your windshield & wipe if off with paper towels. Shaving cream has many of the same ingredients found in commercial defoggers.

 – De-ice your lock in seconds with hand sanitizer! Just put some hand sanitizer gel on the key & the lock & the problems solved!

Oceanfront Fun in Myrtle Beach

I should be getting my W-2 in the mail any day now. I can’t wait to file my taxes this year. I’m expecting to get a good sized tax refund this year. I donated a whole heck of a lot of stuff to the Good Will and got all the receipts I need to use as write offs. I had a good amount of medical expenses as well that I kept track off which will help a lot as well.

The idea of finding a nice Myrtle Beach Hotel to rent along with a few close friends is getting more tempting as time rolls on. I’ve been spending some time here and there looking at Myrtle Beach Accommodations online and has really got me excited about the prospect of spending a week at the beach some time in August. The water should be warmed up nicely by that time, which is a big to do for me. I love the water but cold water is a real turn off. Myrtle Beach isn’t really known for having the warmest water temperature, but I’m hoping and praying that it will be warm enough for me to enjoy at that point.

I’ve been looking at a nice Myrtle Beach Accommodation, The Horizon Resort at 77th. It is located right smack dab in the middle of Myrtle Beach and sounds delightful! The beach is only a few foot steps away from the door and is promising to be a Oceanfront Resort that has something for everyone in our group.

Saving Money with Online Shopping

It seems that this last Christmas holiday shopping season there was a record amount of people doing their shopping online. I can’t say that I am surprised by this finding, money is tight all over and people were looking for the best deals available and the Internet brings so many of them to us, right to our finger tips, now how cool is that?

I was the typical teenage girl, in the fact that I used to love going to the mall and hanging with my friends. Always on the look out for the boys and the sales on Shoes  the newest Trends in Womens Fashions and all the fabulous Accessories that the mall is known for having. But these days I’d much prefer staying at home and using my laptop for the majority of my purchases. I think that I only went to the mall two times last Christmas, everything else was done online.

I look for incentives like free shipping, online coupon codes, return shipping – both ways, and I also like to find items that are made in the U.S.A., that is always a plus with me. There are many sites dedicated to comparing items and services that can make my search an easier one. Many different search engines are out there to assist in finding just about anything that can be found on the Internet.

Snow

I just came home and the sky is most definately looking like snow. We are expecting 2 -4 inches over night. It will be interesting to see if the schools close down or not. Hope the roads aren’t too bad. I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow that I would hate to have to reschedule, it was a pain to get the appointment to begin with. I won’t mind the snow though, if it is going to be this cold we might as well have some snow to go with it.

Nora Roberts – Hot Ice

I did get a few good books for Christmas. One that I got and just started is by Nora Roberts, entitled “Hot Ice” it’s a seductive novel.  I do enjoy a hot bath every night before I retire to bed, it relaxes me and gives me time to read a chapter or two of a good book. I enjoy reading a wide variety of books and am always on the look for a good book to sink my teeth into. I usually have a paper back in my purse to use at my convenience and then a good solid thick novel at the house, right by the bath tub.

Jeff Dunham Tickets for Christmas!

I have to say that I did receive some pretty nifty gifts this Christmas along with the usual slippers, body & bath products and the winter sweaters that I can always count on receiving each year. Don’t get me wrong I adore and appreciate every single present that makes it way to under my tree, but there are certain gifts that arrive totally unexpected and blow my mind.

This year I was blown away with a pair of Jeff Dunham Tickets, that my sister managed to pick up for me. I have always loved Jeff Dunham and I can’t believe that I’ll actually be able to see him LIVE! My 14 year old niece is a huge fan of his act as well, so I’ve decided to take her to see him with him. It will be great to take a trip to the “Big Apple” with her, I’m sure it will be a trip that we will be talking about for a very long time.

My sister said that it was either a couple of Jeff Dunham Tickets or a pair of Hammerstein Ballroom Tickets, it was a close call, but I’m so glad that she decided on Jeff Dunham Tickets. He is the funniest ventriloquist that has come around for quite some time now. He has had so many of us laughing our butts off these past few years, I’m always up for a good laugh.

In return I plan on purchasing my sister some Chicago Blackhawks Tickets for her birthday that is coming up the end of January. She told me to go to Acheapseat.com to find the best deals for all types of events. It seems that is where she located and purchased the tickets for me to see Jeff Dunham, so it sounds like a good place to start to me. After her birthday is done and over with I won’t need to buy any gifts for anyone for any occasion at least until March!

Thoughts To Ponder Today

The year is 1947

Some of you will recall that on July 8, 1947, a little over 60 years ago, witnesses claim that an unidentified flying object (UFO) with five aliens aboard crashed onto a sheep and mule ranch just outside Roswell, New Mexico . This is a well known incident that many say has long been covered up by the U.S. Air Force and other federal agencies and organizations.

However, what you may NOT know is that in the month of April 1948, nine months after that historic day, the following people were born:

> Albert A. Gore, Jr..

> Hillary Rodham

> John F. Kerry

> William J. Clinton

> Howard Dean

> Nancy Pelosi

> Dianne Feinstein

> Charles E. Schumer

> Barbara Boxer

See what happens when aliens breed with sheep and mules? I certainly hope this bit of information clears up a lot of things for you. It did for me. No wonder they support the bill to help illegal aliens!

Tool Time For Christmas

Well I’m all ready and good to go for Christmas. Got all of my last minute shopping done. I’m so glad that I did most of my holiday shopping online this year. We got some crazy weather last weekend that would have had me up in arms if I hadn’t been a smart shopper this year.

Most of my gifts this year were to men, how odd is that? I picked up some great Tools and Hardware for my father for his Workshop and Home Improvement plans that he has in mind for this up and coming year. My step father wanted one of the new Circular Saws that have just come out recently, which I found online way back in the spring. He loves his Power Drills and Hand Tools!

My brothers also wanted Workshop Accessories, so I bought them both new Miter Saws that I hope that they will be happy with. My mother was the only female in the whole deal and was the hardest to figure out. Luckily we were at the mall together a few months back and she showed me a nice pair of boots that I managed to go back and pick up for her, so with that said and done and Merry Christmas to you and yours. I hope it is a good and safe one for all.
