A Pat on The Back

At the grocery store today I asked the cashier for the store manager, poor guy was ready to freak out on me. I had to assure him that it wasn’t anything negative and nothing to do with him. I wanted to tell the store manager about a certain employee that I see there from time to time that always gives me the biggest smile and a hug and how much I appreciate all that he does in his work there.

The store manager came out and I told him my little story and he thanked me for taking the time out to tell him a good thing about an employee, seems they don’t get many of those these days!

Dental Practices

One of my big fears that I must over come twice a year, is a fear of dentists. When I was a kid my mother used to take me to this Dentist that had bad breath and a bad attitude to go along with it. I remember he would give me a hard time about plucking my eye brows. He believed that eye brows where the gate way to the soul or some such nonsense, I would always come out of that dentist office feeling bad about my self and wishing that I never would have to go back, although his office was decorated with a fascinating fish aquarium and some wonderful seascape paintings that I loved looking at.

I’m so glad that I found the perfect dentist for me to take care of my teeth. I actually found him online at. For over twenty years they have been matching patients up with quality dentists and I’ve told many people about them over the years. Not only do they find dentists in your area but they have good dentistry information that has come in handy for me through out the years.

All you need to do is type in your zip code and click on the type of dentistry service you are looking for, such as a cleaning, braces, whitening, fillings, dentures, caps, root canals and the like, and you will be guided to the appropriate listings of dentists for you to review and choose from. Pretty easy pickings.

New Best Place

With the economy being as it is today, eating out has become more of a luxury for our family dining. Although the kids like to patronize the fast food places, my husband and I prefer to go somewhere a little more interesting. On this occasion we decided to check out a new restaurant that had just opened and after battling with the kids over where to go, we set the security alarm  and headed out. When we arrived at the new Red Elephant, we were very surprised with what we saw, as were the kids. Inside the decor was a wonderful mix of hand painted murals, featuring all sorts of wild animals.

The kids were totally in awe and had to take time to search them all out. They even wandered into the arcade, which to them, was the greatest thing on earth. The menu had everything an adult might want to eat, as well as pizza and burgers for the younger set. Large screen tv’s were in every corner, so grown-ups could watch the news, as well as sporting events. The evening was a huge success and I think the kids may have, at least for the time being, forgotten about that famous fast food place. Must say that the elephant ears on the menu were the icing on the cake.

One Hell of A Good Book

I love reading a variety of books. It seems that I usually have 2 or 3 going at the same time, it works out most of the time. I always keep a good novel in the bathroom. When I take my bath I kick back and get some good reading time out of the deal as well.

I just finished a novel “Up Country” by Nelson DeMille, who also wrote “The General’s Daughter” which I really need to find now. This was a great book about Vietnam Vets that anyone would and should enjoy reading at some point.

Digging The Deals At Musician Friend

Paying under $300 for a decent Fender guitar is a good deal, if you ask me. Since no one is asking me I took it upon myself to look at what the musician friend website has to offer their shoppers these days. Check out this cutie! I just might be buying myself a Christmas present this year after all!

Yogi Bear

I have been wanting to see the Yogi Bear movie for several years now. So this weekend a girlfriend of mine and I going to the mall, doing some shopping (using some of the gift cards that we got for way back at last Christmas) and then we are going to watch Yogi Bear and his side kick Boo Boo. I used to love watching the Yogi Bear cartoons while growing up so I’m a real fan of Yogis and I can only hope that this movie does him justice.

Fender Jazzmaster 62

Hard to believe that there is much difference between one guitar pickguard or another, but after looking at this fender jazzmaster 62 tortoiseshell pickguard online at Guitar Center’s website I feel a bit more educated on the subject. I’m sorry but I have never gotten into playing the guitar, or any musical instrument for that matter. Making music just wasn’t in the cards for me, nor is singing or even able to carry a tune. For me it has always been about the dance. Poetry in motion has always been my motto!

I am trying to be pro active and getting a bit of holiday shopping before it gets all too overwhelming for me and I start to panic. The holidays are always stressful for me, so many people to buy gifts for and so many people to try and make happy all in the name of Santa Claus!

Entertaining The Customers

I see that more businesses are getting smart and hooking up with a DIRECT TV Business Account and having a nice television installed for their customers entertainment needs. I think that Commercial Satellite TV is a really good idea, I know that I get tired of looking through the numerous old and torn up magazines that are the norm in most waiting areas such as the doctor’s office, banks, car repair shops and the like. Sometimes you can be stuck there for a good amount of time and having a Business Satellite TV makes the wait a lot more tolerable.

The only problem that I can see is if there is a disagreement with the other people waiting and watching on which channel the TV should be set on and that a lot of businesses are keeping the remote control behind the counter in order to keep from losing it to some one’s sticky fingers. I know one time a was waiting for my car to be inspected and the TV was on a channel that had golf playing on it. Ugh, how I hate watching a golf game on TV, boring…………but then I guess you just can’t please everyone!

Wood Vionlins Wood Wah

Call me old fashioned, but I swear I didn’t know there was such a thing as electric violin, much less all the exciting wood-violins effects that I was checking out online earlier today to use as a birthday gift for a party that is coming up soon. So many new things that I keep discovering, makes me wonder what rock I have been hiding under. Good Grief!

Help For Our Elderly Relatives

Each year my brothers and sisters put our heads together to try and find a way to help out our Aunt Jenny and Uncle Dave, who are both now in their 80’s and they both have several health issues to deal with while living on small monthly fixed income. We used to just send them food and/or gift cards for Christmas, but as the years pass we feel the need to do more than that when we all can afford and can agree on something.

You see Aunt Jenny and Uncle Dave are two of the sweetest people that you would ever have the chance to meet and to get to know. Thank goodness they have been active in their church, so they do receive some assistance from the church from time to time, but we all know how humble they are and how bad it makes them feel to receive any help from anyone. There is a special place in heaven for these too special, well seasoned relatives, but we are in no hurry to see them go.

I came up with an idea that I shared with my siblings lately. I took the time to look at various Home Cleaning Companies in Fort Lauderdale and I think I found the perfect one that we can afford to pay for to come out and help Aunt Jenny with all of their house cleaning needs. In the mean time I would like to find a company that will come out and help Uncle Dave with some of the chores that are always needed outside of the house and the yard. Just the thought of him trying climb and balance on a ladder to check and clean the gutters leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth. And of course there are tons of other outside chores that he just isn’t capable of doing anymore either. Maybe I can get my younger brother to help out in finding a good and affordable company to come out before the cold weather hits us.
