Take It and Run With It

It has become so much easier to purchase tickets with the coming of the Internet. I remember back in the day what a pain it was to get good (or at least half way decent) seats to an up and coming concert. Either being on the phone for hours on end or the standing in long lines that started forming in the early hours. My god people even are known to camp out in order to get tickets for some events, that isn’t anything that I’d be interested in doing, but too each his own I reckon.

I under stand that Taylor Swift tickets are becoming available and I’d really like to take my 14 year old niece to see her live on stage. She has never been to a concert and I think that a Taylor Swift concert would be a good one to start her off on. She is scheduled to be in the area and performing at the American Airlines Center on March 11. A Thursday night, (a school night)  but what the heck it will be a nice family oriented event, not a bunch of rowdy drunks or druggies that I’d be concerned with having her being in close contact with. And we all know how close we can get an a concert!

I’ve used acheapseat.com before to find Houston Rodeo Tickets, it was a pretty simple task if I remember correctly. And I’ve used them to find up and coming events and AMERICAN AIRLINES CENTER TICKETS and always had good luck so that keeps me coming back. You find something good, take it and run with it, right? So I’ll see what I can come up with this time around.

Illnesses

It seems like most people I have been talking to the past couple of days are sick. The crazy weather seems to be the blame. It is 60 degrees one day and in the low 30’s the next day. I just got off the phone with my best friend and she tells me that she was taken to the E.R. yesterday, and was diagnosed with bronchitis, she sounds like she has been run over with by a train. Poor things, wish I lived closer to her I’d be stopping by with home made chicken soup, fixing her hot tea and babying her the way we like to be babied until she gets back up on her feet. But for now I guess I’ll drop a get well card in the mail and call her once a day to let her know that I’m thinking of her.

Old Folks Need Love Too

A farmer stopped by the local mechanic shop to have his truck fixed. They couldn’t do it while he waited, so he said he didn’t live far and would just walk home.

On the way home he stopped at the hardware store and bought a bucket, and a gallon of paint. He then stopped by the feed store and picked up a couple of chickens and a goose. However, struggling outside the store, he now had a problem… how to carry his entire purchases home.

While he was scratching his head he was approached by a little old lady who told him she was lost. She asked, ‘Can you tell me how to get to 1603 Mockingbird Lane?’

The farmer said, ‘Well, as a matter of fact, my farm is very close to that house. I would walk you there but I can’t carry all these things.’

The old lady suggested, ‘Why don’t you put the can of paint in the bucket. Carry the bucket in one hand, put a chicken under each arm and carry the goose in your other hand?’

‘Why thank you very much,’ he said and proceeded to walk the old girl home. On the way he says ‘Let’s take my short cut and go down this alley. We’ll be there in no time.’

The little old lady looked him over cautiously then said, ‘I am a lonely widow without a husband to defend me. How do I know that when we get in the alley you won’t hold me up against the wall, pull up my skirt, and have your way with me?’

The farmer said, ‘Holy smokes lady! I’m carrying a bucket, a gallon of paint, two chickens, and a goose. How in the world could I possibly hold you up against the wall and do that?’

The old lady replied, ‘Set the goose down, cover him with the bucket, put the paint on top of the bucket, and I’ll hold the chickens.’

Jeff Dunham Tickets for Christmas!

I have to say that I did receive some pretty nifty gifts this Christmas along with the usual slippers, body & bath products and the winter sweaters that I can always count on receiving each year. Don’t get me wrong I adore and appreciate every single present that makes it way to under my tree, but there are certain gifts that arrive totally unexpected and blow my mind.

This year I was blown away with a pair of Jeff Dunham Tickets, that my sister managed to pick up for me. I have always loved Jeff Dunham and I can’t believe that I’ll actually be able to see him LIVE! My 14 year old niece is a huge fan of his act as well, so I’ve decided to take her to see him with him. It will be great to take a trip to the “Big Apple” with her, I’m sure it will be a trip that we will be talking about for a very long time.

My sister said that it was either a couple of Jeff Dunham Tickets or a pair of Hammerstein Ballroom Tickets, it was a close call, but I’m so glad that she decided on Jeff Dunham Tickets. He is the funniest ventriloquist that has come around for quite some time now. He has had so many of us laughing our butts off these past few years, I’m always up for a good laugh.

In return I plan on purchasing my sister some Chicago Blackhawks Tickets for her birthday that is coming up the end of January. She told me to go to Acheapseat.com to find the best deals for all types of events. It seems that is where she located and purchased the tickets for me to see Jeff Dunham, so it sounds like a good place to start to me. After her birthday is done and over with I won’t need to buy any gifts for anyone for any occasion at least until March!

Tool Time For Christmas

Well I’m all ready and good to go for Christmas. Got all of my last minute shopping done. I’m so glad that I did most of my holiday shopping online this year. We got some crazy weather last weekend that would have had me up in arms if I hadn’t been a smart shopper this year.

Most of my gifts this year were to men, how odd is that? I picked up some great Tools and Hardware for my father for his Workshop and Home Improvement plans that he has in mind for this up and coming year. My step father wanted one of the new Circular Saws that have just come out recently, which I found online way back in the spring. He loves his Power Drills and Hand Tools!

My brothers also wanted Workshop Accessories, so I bought them both new Miter Saws that I hope that they will be happy with. My mother was the only female in the whole deal and was the hardest to figure out. Luckily we were at the mall together a few months back and she showed me a nice pair of boots that I managed to go back and pick up for her, so with that said and done and Merry Christmas to you and yours. I hope it is a good and safe one for all.

The Big Event after Christmas is Done and Over With

Once the Christmas and New Year’s holiday is over and done with we gals at work can get back to the planning of Carol’s big wedding that we are all involved in. We haven’t had such a big event in a few years and we are all enjoying acting as one big wedding planner for her, a joint effort that has us busy as bees, at least until we had all this snow and Christmas being in just a few short days.

I’ve never been to a Catholic wedding, so a lot of this is over my head but several of the other gals have either been to one or had one when they were married, so there was no need to hire a Catholic Wedding Planner. There is so much involved with planning a big event such as this. They have over 300 people to send invitations out to and they expect the majority of them to attend.

We have until May to get everything done and ready. We all have Internet access at work, that has made a big difference in the planning. We have been exchanging ideas and information from several wonderful wedding planning sites. Our favorite has been Planningelegance.com and The Knot wedding information site at Theknot.com is great and keeps us coming back for more and more, it’s all good!

Old Friends

I ran into an old friend the other day when I was at the mall doing a bit of Christmas shopping. I haven’t seen her in such a long time, we had a lot to catch up on with each other. We decided to stop and grab a bite to eat at the food court. The place was a mad house and we were lucky to find an empty table to sit at. Funny how we both really enjoy Chinese food and so Panda Express got our money for the day.

She has worked hard to become an insurance agent and is doing very well considering how the economy is in such a mess. Turns out that she is happily married with two kids and another on the way, due in June. She leads a busy life, to be sure.

Before parting ways, we exchanged phone numbers and emails so that we can keep in touch. She gave me a few of her business cards in case I could come up with any insurance leads to send her way. I’d be happy to do what I can for her, I mean what are friends for anyway? I love running into people that I haven’t seen in a long time.

It’s All Good!

I’m having a blast helping a gal that I work with, plan her very large and formal wedding. One day, I hope, I’ll be planning my dream wedding, so this is good practice. She is such a nice gal, I’ve enjoyed working with her for several years now and we have gotten pretty darn close and I’m proud that she is allowing me to get so involved with the whole wedding process. What a hand full this has turned out to be though, I had no idea all that it entails to pull something like this off.

Right now we are looking at wedding invitations. Thank God for the Internet, I can’t imagine taking on something like this with out all that the Internet has to offer. At 123print.com they have a really great selection of invitations that we have been eyeballing and showing around the work place to get ideas and suggestions from. It really has brought a breath of fresh air around the place and the excitement is becoming contagious between us all.

We still have a lot of work to do, but things are being checked off of the list here and there, so it’s all good!

Change Can Be Good

Seems that my aunt has changed her mind on where she wants to settle, instead of Lexington S.C. she is now considering the Greenville area of S.C. instead. She has found a website that allows you to view 19 channels of high definition, full screen videos that bring into the focus of what the community of Greenville has to offer. It’s appears that it is a vibrant community that has a lot to offer some one just like my aunt.

A man, Edwin McCain, who grew up, moved away and then returned to Greenville appears on one of the videos that I watched. He has made it his mission to promote his hometown, which I think is pretty darn cool. He is an alternative rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist who performs all across the U.S. of A. but still performs in Greenville and just released his first major label recording. You can actually see him perform on the video.

I’m sure my aunt will find the perfect place for her to settle into and enjoy her “golden years.” Any place would welcome this lady into their community. She is a first class lady, with a great sense of humor for an old broad!

Thank God for The Internet!

I have to admit that I really don’t know all that much about life insurance. My folks have been urging me to check into starting my own policy. They have one on me for $2,000 that they started when I was born. The policy was actually a gift that was presented to my parents from an aunt. A nice present, but unfortunately $2,000 isn’t all that much anymore, most likely not even enough to bury me with.

So I’ve taken upon myself to educate myself on the whole subject, thank God for the Internet. I need to learn what the best options are for me on a decent term life insurance policy. It shouldn’t take too long and I’m a pretty quick learner.
