We’ve Got Snow

Well we really have been lucky so far this year. It has been cold, but no snow. That is until yesterday. One minute it was starting to come down and in just a few hours we had over 5 inches and it was still coming down. The worst part is that right as I was starting to put diner together the power went out so a quick peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwich with a bottle of water, that I keep in the garage, was eaten by candle light and off to bed I went.

The house was starting to get chilly so I piled on the blankets and grabbed a flash light and my book and read for a few hours until my arms got tired of holding the flashlight and the book. It took a while but I finally dozed off,  I have to have the TV on when I go to sleep and of course with no power, no TV. At 3:30 the light came on in my room, so I turned the TV on and finally went to sleep for a few hours.

Man I hate snow!

We Lucked Out Once Again With No Snow!

This is the third major storm watch that we managed to escape. We did get a good amount of ice on the roads though and it took me about 10 minutes this morning to defrost my car’s windows which I wasn’t even prepared to do first thing in the morning. But at least we don’t have snow!!!!

Pit Bulls & The Weather on TV

I’m so glad that “Pit Bulls and Parolees” is back once again on The Animal Planet Channel. I wish that I had known about the show two years ago when it first came on, but I did see all of last years. There are a lot of re runs on that I’ve managed to see and I’ve been waiting for tonight’s episode to come on, so I’m off to Reality Show Land for the evening and keeping an eye on the weather channel as well. We are expecting a huge snow storm, but we will see how it turns out tomorrow.

No Smoking

I haven’t had a cigarette since January 1st, 10:30pm. This isn’t easy but I’m surprising myself by not being a total pain in the rear to everyone around me while I’m struggling with this addiction issue. I’m chewing a lot of gum and drinking a lot of water which is a good thing in it’s self, right.

I’m hoping that this time I’ll actually put these cancer sticks down for good. I’ve tried before, I actually quite for 3 years on time. So there is no reason that I can’t do it again, or so that is what I keep telling myself!

The Christmas List

I appreciate the guest post, Lindsay Valdez

Christmas shopping doesn’t have to be hectic or stressful. It can be a lot of fun when there’s a clear picture of what you want to buy and the budget you need to stick to in order to make sure everyone gets what they want for Christmas. Gifts should always be thoughtful and personal to the person you’ve bought them for. The Christmas list is one of the most powerful tools for making Christmas shopping the kind of smooth process you need, and want, it to be during the holidays. As you master the list and learn how to use it to quicken the shopping process, you’ll find that you won’t be one of the unfortunate people that has to rush to buy gifts during the holidays.

When you leave your home, set your securitychoice home security alarm and prepare to have the smoothest shopping trip of your life. Before Christmas even begins, make out a wishlist of things you want to get for people. By doing this, you learn quickly if those items are going to be available and if there’s anything better for you to buy the people you love. Preparing ahead saves you plenty of time in the end, and you’ll be thankful that you did this once you get out there and see the crowds of Christmas shoppers that didn’t think of this step.

All Is Well

Finally got things all wrapped up and ready to go for Christmas day. Am planning on heading out on Christmas eve to my parent’s house and spending the night there as to be ready nice and early Christmas day to help out with all that needs to be done for the big day.

Laundry

My best friend waits until Saturday to do her laundry. I just don’t get why anyone would wait all week to do their laundry and forfeit a whole day to take card of laundry issues. I try and get one load done a day, that way I have my weekends free for things that I want to do.

So You Think You Can Dance

I really enjoy dancing and even love watching dancing, any type of dance, it’s all good. So it’s so cool that there are so many TV shows featuring dance. Tonight’s “So You Think You Can Dance” was spectacular. There is so much great talent out there that are getting a rare opportunity to show it off.

Let The Games Begin

I just heard that the Redskins are gearing up for tomorrow which will be their first pre-season game of this up and coming professional football season. I can’t believe that football season is so close to starting all ready. Next thing you know it will be Thanksgiving and then of course Christmas will be consuming us all in no time. Really the only good thing about fall and winter is football, I’m glad that I have subscribed to the sunday ticket with my satellite provider, Direct TV. I always enjoy having friends over on Sunday’s for a good game and a good time with plenty of munchies and loads of cold beer. I have a good sized flat screen TV that makes watching the games a much better experience then it was before I invested in a big screen like I did.

My good friend, Donna from work also enjoys football, she has the Cox cable sports package and she likes to have people over on Monday for the Monday games, so it works out real well for everyone involved. We have a lot in common, other than just working at the same place and we have become pretty darn good friends these past couple of years.

So which ever is the most convenient – be it cable sports or satellite sports between the two of us we’ve got it covered. I hope the Redskins start the year with a major win over the Buffalo Bills, guess we will find out tomorrow, let the games begin!

Food Lion All Gone

I know that a lot of the local Food Lions switched over and are now called Blooms. I really thought that my Food Lion was safe from any changes. But today I found out that they are now planning on closing their doors permanently come the end of August. That really bites. I do most of my grocery shopping there and I have gotten to know so many of the employees and I will miss them dearly.
