Ain’t Nothing But A Thing

I have been wearing eye glasses most of my life. For so many years, as I left my eye doctor’s office, after my annual check up, I would just wonder next door to the eye glass store and get my glasses. Not even thinking that I had a choice in the matter of where I wanted to get my prescription filled for my new glasses each time. I don’t know why, I can’t say that it was laziness, just not thinking much about the whole process. Right next door to an eye doctor’s office is a most convenient place to sell glasses that is for sure, but I’m glad that I broke free from the mold and went online and found great deals that I’m going to start taking advantage of.

I have my check up scheduled for in the later part of May and I’m sure that my prescription will have changed, so I’m looking forward to getting some nice new glasses. I haven’t had new glasses for a few years now, so I’m sure that I’m due. My sister keeps after me about trying contact lenses, but I just don’t like the idea of putting some thing in my eyes. Besides I don’t mind wearing glasses, it ain’t nothing but a thing!

Piano Lessons – Tickling the Old Ivories!

My niece, Tracey, is wanting to take piano lessons via the Internet. My sister is having a fit, but I’m all for it. Tracey is a good kid and spends a lot of time on the computer and I think that she could handle the online piano lessons. She is a pretty smart kid and usually follows through with things that she starts so I’m surprised that my sister isn’t as positive about this request as I thought she would be. Tracey approached me about the piano lessons first (we are pretty tight) and I urged her to talk to her mom about it, thinking that it wouldn’t be a big deal. Boy did I call that one wrong, ugh…….

Looks like I will be going over to their house over the weekend and see if I can patch things up between them. I will even offer to help pay for the piano lessons, although they make a lot more money than I do, but that is how strong I feel about the whole things, although I don’t think it is the money that is the issue. Most of our family members can play at least one musical instrument and Tracey would like to be included in the music that is made at our family functions throughout the year. I’ve never been able to play an instrument or sing, but I can sure dance circles around most of them!

Insurance Online

It doesn’t matter where you go, there will always be a need for most types of insurance. There just isn’t any way around it these days. The good news is that the Internet has made it easier for us to find the right type of insurance for our individual needs and wants and we no longer are  limited to word of mouth, the media and the local Yellow Pages  in an effort to find the perfect match.

Instead of spending hours on the phone, with pen and paper in hand calling various agents to get auto quotes or home insurance quotes you can go online and search for the information with ease and using the time that you have to the best advantage. When I first moved here I went to the Illinois Department of Insurance website and found a great amount of useful information and links. Every state has different rules, codes, laws, regulations yadda, yadda, yadda. And claiming ignorance is still no excuse and will not hold up in a court of law, so it pays to know what you are up against right from the start.

So like if I were to look into starting up a new business you can be that I’d be checking into business insurance in Illinois and doing my homework online to be better informed before signing on any dotted line. It’s all about the money.

You Tube

I’m really not all that much into Country music but this song done by Lady Antebellum has just taken be back a few steps. Some songs just do that from time to time. This is a keeper for my YouTube Playlist which is ever growing. Thanks YouTube.com

Isn’t Ironic

A good song that finds it’s way into my head every now and then, and then stays there for days is by Alanis Morissette is called “Ironic” I can so totally relate to this song in so many ways. Life is Ironic each and every day.

It’s like 10,000 spoons when you just need a knife!

Sweet

I try to find a good quality gift to give to my mother each Mother’s Day. And this holiday is fast approaching so I need to get off of it and start looking around for ideas. Having access to the Internet makes this task a much easier one, thank God! I look for companies that accept PayPal since I use my PayPal account a lot. I also look for free shipping, it’s all about the $$$ these days ya know?

I found some nice Seiko Kinetic Watches at Bluedial.com that are affordable and I think that my mother would enjoy. She is a tiny little thing so she can’t wear anything big and bulky, which can be a challenge at times, but I think that I have gotten used to that idea for a while now. This is a pretty sweet wrist watch that is on sale for only $110 and has free shipping as well. I’ve bookmarked it and will see how it all pans out.

OMG

It is very disturbing to keep hearing the reports of all the extreme weather conditions that just seem to keep happening over and over. This morning the news is that a 4.4 earthquake has hit right outside of Los Angeles, California. Will this madness ever end? Who ever pissed off Mother Nature really needs to make an apology and soon.

A Daunting Task Made Easier With The Internet

I’ve gone online to do some comparison shopping on Maryland insurance rates. I’ve found a great site at NetQuote.com that has helped with this daunting task of finding the best bang for my buck. I love how the Internet has made challenges like this so much easier. I remember the days of having to find the Yellow Pages and spend hours calling around to all of the local insurance agents trying to get quotes from the all in an effort to find the best deal. What a pain in the rear that was! And to top it off you were limited only to local companies. It’s a big world out their folks, the sky is the limit.

Way Cool!

Years ago my sister and I used to go to several Rodeos a year. We really got into the whole Rodeo scene. We had our cute little western outfits, with girly cowboy hats, boots and even a bandanna once in a while. I run across parts of and pieces of our outfits here and there around the house, in the back of a drawer or in a box downstairs and it always puts a big smile on my face. We even made a cool scrapbook that my sister keeps at her place, from all the pictures that we had taken back then. I’ve got to see if she can take a moment and dig it out next time I go over to see her. It would be fun to see them again with her.

A good friend of mine just went online at work and purchased Tickets to the National Finals Rodeo that is being held in Las Vegas this December. Man what I would give to be able to go with her. Attending the National Finals Rodeo is cool enough, but to attend it in Las Vegas, way cool! Oh well, there is still time to purchase tickets, who knows maybe I’ll win the lottery, or the major football pool at the office by then! The tickets to the Rodeo aren’t the pricey issue, it would be the transportation and lodging that would be a pain. Looks like I need to start picking some lottery numbers, you can’t win if you don’t play.

The Comparing of Prices Online

I’ve been on the look out for a new bedroom vanity. I’ve been looking at yard sales and thrift stores for some time now and have given up on the hopes of finding a used one with a used price and have turned to the Internet to find one at a decent price. Become.com is a wonderful online shoppers comparison site that I’ve used to find good quality products at great prices for their online shoppers like myself.

I found Become.com when I was looking for hair blow dryers and was happy with them and bookmarked their site for future use. I believe that I also used them for the leather backpack purse that I purchased for myself for my birthday last year. I really don’t buy that much for myself these days, but when I do I want to and need to find the best deal possible in order to keep a couple of bucks in the bank.

Online shopping is the way to go if you can find free shipping along with other promotional or coupon codes that are designed to keep online shoppers ordering and coming back for more. I still like to go out and window shop on occasion but the online prices keep me from buying locally.
