Found $$$

I have never been one to find much money on the street or the ground. My best friend was always finding money when we were kids, but it just wasn’t something that I had a knack for. Well today as I got out of my car I saw something on the ground so I went over to see what it was and low and behold it was a $20 bill with two $1 bills. Hot dam, $22, pretty good way to start the day!

You Go Girl, But Did You Have To Go So Far…….

I wasn’t quite sure what my good friend was talking about in her latest email. She moved to Australia last year and we have kept our close relationship close via IMing and emails. She was talking about funeral funds nsw and income insurance in last week’s email. So I asked her to send me the link to which she was referring to. She is trying to find and purchase the best life insurance possible and is still fumbling around a bit in a country that is so foreign to her.

It took a lot of guts for her to move so far away from all of her family and friends and I have to give her credit for being so brave. I can’t imagine doing something so drastic like that, but would love to be given the chance cause I think that it would be very tempting indeed.

Since she is so far away she really wants to make sure that she has the best insurance possible and has been researching on the Internet to see what she can find online. Things are a lot different in the “Land Down Under” and it is becoming a challenge for her but I’m sure she will succeed given some time.

New Camera

I took my digital camera with me to the 4th of July fireworks display in town the other night. It was giving me some trouble, I was so disappointed because I really wanted to get some good shots of the spectacular firework display that we get to see just once a year around these parts.

The next day I fiddled around with it, put in a new battery, the whole ball of wax, but I couldn’t get it to cooperate. What a bummer, it wasn’t a cheap camera and I’m not too happy about having to dish more of my hard earned cash at this point, but I really enjoy and need a decent camera these days. Guess I start checking out some cameras online and see if I can find a good deal via the Internet. Lord knows I don’t feel like going from store to store in this heat!

Time for a Make-Over or Two

I’ve been itching to start a make over for my bedroom. I’d really like to get some new Bed Linens to start with. I’ve been looking online for the past couple of weeks at some of the Comforters that are out now, some nice colorful ones that I’ve set my eyes on. Of course if I purchase these items I may as well look into some nice new colorful Bed Pillows to really them off nicely.

It’s been a long time since I done anything for my bedroom. I think the last thing I did was to buy some new bed side Lamps that I found at the flew market. I love going to the flea market but some thing I do prefer to purchase brand new. With the Internet bringing so many things right to our finger tips there is just so much to choose from.

After take care of a few things in the bedroom, I’ve been thinking that the bathroom has been looking pretty shabby and certainly use some spicing up. There are plenty of Home Accessories sites online that I’m sure I’ll be checking into. I’ll look for places that offer free shipping and that accept PayPal, those are two important factors in making my decision.

What Happened To The T.P.

Went with my list to the grocery store today and filled the basket up with enough supplies to hopefully last a week or so. The most important thing on the list, besides milk, was toilet paper. When I got home and unloaded all the stuff, I noticed that I was missing the toilet paper. I knew darn well that I picked a brand out and put it in the basket. So I checked my receipt to see if I had paid for it and if it just didn’t make it’s way back into the basket after the cashier was done scanning it. Unfortunately there was no toilet paper on the receipt, so it is a mystery on where it ended up. At least I wasn’t charged for it, but now I have to use some dinner napkins until I can make it to the grocery store again tomorrow night, bummer.

Sunglasses For Father’s Day

For Father’s day I wanted to get my Dad a nice pair of men’s sunglasses. He has a habit of losing his sunglasses and is always needing a new pair, so I knew that he would appreciate a nice pair as a gift. At the mall there is a kiosk that sells only sunglasses, so I took a trip downtown to take a look and see what they had for sale in the line of mens sunglasses. OMG I couldn’t believe the prices they were asking. I mean I know that anything that you buy at the mall is going to be a bit more expensive, due to the overhead that is required by mall management, but there just has to be a limit some how where they aren’t taking so much of people’s hard earned money.

Anyway, that turned out to be a dead end, but I did get a good idea of some of the styles that are popular these days. So I took that information and went online and found a great website that had some great mens sunglasses at some pretty decent prices at menssunglasses.com and found some nice looking Aviator sunglasses for only $14.99. And since they offer free shipping for orders of $25 or more I ordered two pairs. They don’t even charge a sales tax, which is a bonus. At that price I could afford two pairs for my Dad to enjoy and since he loses them so quickly I’m sure two pairs won’t last long.

My order came in quickly, so I got them in time for Father’s Day and everyone ended up happy.

Shopping for a Dell Netbook

After browsing through many different laptops, I finally came to the conclusion that it was not a laptop I was actually looking for, but rather a netbook! It was quickly apparent to me that Dell was going to be the best choice because their netbooks not only had the best appearance and specifications but, the best prices as well. But I’m still shopping and if anyone has a netbook that they love and its not a Dell, I’d love to hear what you bought and if you think it is better than Dell.

Accutane Lawsuit

It has been a while since I’ve seen a commercial for Accutane, which was a very well known treatment for acne. It actually treated 13 million patients since their inception back in 1982, but caused a lot of damage during that time as well.

I was reading about one of the many accutane lawsuit against Hoffman La Roche. This company has been put through the ringer due to the miss use of their product. Don’t get me wrong, if the company screwed up then they need to compensate people for their losses.

Getting involved in a lawsuit such as this one can drag on for quite some time. I’m going to keep my eyes and ears open and alert in an effort to stay informed on how these lawsuits pan out.

Car Care Confidence

It can take a while to learn the right people and the right places to go to when you move to a new location. And the Welcome Wagon Lady doesn’t come knocking on your door these days. It seems that it got too dangerous for these ladies to be going out at night time hours. Isn’t that crazy?

Anyway, I am always looking for a good car repair and maintenance shop. There are so many rip off shops out there these days that it has me paranoid about taking my Toyota Corolla just anywhere. I have to have a new water pump put in my car this weekend and I want to go some where that is affordable and won’t rip me off. My two credit cards that I use for car repairs are maxed out so I’m not dependent on those places this time around. I use them as the last resort from time to time.

I found a cool website repairpal.com that seems useful to people dealing with car repair issues. I typed in “Chicago auto repair” and it came up with a boat load of auto repair shops in that area. Amazing how many shops there are these days. People will always need their automobiles up and running, so there will always be a need for their type of services.

Anyway, I want to have this pump issue done and over with. It is spring time and there is way too much to do on the weekends while the weather is nice, so I don’t want to have to deal with car repair issues that will keep me down while the going is good, ya know?

Ain’t Nothing But A Thing

I have been wearing eye glasses most of my life. For so many years, as I left my eye doctor’s office, after my annual check up, I would just wonder next door to the eye glass store and get my glasses. Not even thinking that I had a choice in the matter of where I wanted to get my prescription filled for my new glasses each time. I don’t know why, I can’t say that it was laziness, just not thinking much about the whole process. Right next door to an eye doctor’s office is a most convenient place to sell glasses that is for sure, but I’m glad that I broke free from the mold and went online and found great deals that I’m going to start taking advantage of.

I have my check up scheduled for in the later part of May and I’m sure that my prescription will have changed, so I’m looking forward to getting some nice new glasses. I haven’t had new glasses for a few years now, so I’m sure that I’m due. My sister keeps after me about trying contact lenses, but I just don’t like the idea of putting some thing in my eyes. Besides I don’t mind wearing glasses, it ain’t nothing but a thing!
