A New Baby In The Family Expected in August

My sister Jenny is expecting their fourth child in August and she is just now starting to show her baby bump. You would think that since she already had three kids that being pregnant would be almost old hat by now. But this pregnancy was not exactly planned. It was a nice surprise. Jenny is a great mom and she loves doing things with her kids. After her last baby almost five years ago, she thought it WAS her last baby so she gave away all her maternity clothes. Now she needs to move out of regular clothes and into maternity clothes and money is really tight, so my family is going to pitch in and help her buy several things so she has nice clothes to wear to work.

As important as it is to have some nice work clothes to wear Monday through Friday, we also need to start looking for baby items as well. Yard sales and Flea Markets are always a great way to get a good amount of baby related items. But there are some things that are better off being bought brand new. And course there will be a couple of baby showers being held that will help out with numerous items as well. They will most likely through her one at work and of course friends and family will be planning on one as well, so that will help out with a lot of things for her and the baby. This is so exciting, we haven’t had a new baby in the family in quite a few years!

Hardwood Flooring Options For Kitchen and Front Room

Since I’ve been doing an awful lot of self-re-evaluation while upgrading my home and living conditions. I’ve been giving thought to possibly just ripping up the entire floor in the kitchen as well as the front room, so I’m not sure if it’s because I hate the stupid floors, or because I just want to change something. Not that it matters much. I was thinking along the lines of a type of Merengue Rustic Maple for the main front room and maybe a Surreal Washed Maple style floor for the kitchen.

Once I found the right company, “carpetwiseflooringamerica” and saw the quality of their product and it’s installation, which is all guaranteed, I was convinced that this was where I’m going to get what I need! After seeing all the cool styles of wood flooring, I really liked the tone and color of the Hardwood Floors that I’ve selected. I’ve got some time still, so I’ll have it figured out soon enough to be sure. I may even put in a bigger bar, maybe incorporate into the hot tub area somehow. Hm, better stick to concentrating on the floors for now, otherwise I may wind up making a mess of things as well as getting a bit over my head.

Pandora Charms Were A Total Hit On Christmas

My sister’s face was priceless when she opened up my gift of several pandora charms on Christmas day. I wish that I had been video taping that day or at least snapped a picture right at that moment, but in all the madness it just didn’t happen. It is always such a crazy day when we get over to my parents house for Christmas (or for any holiday for that matter) coming from a large family that keeps getting bigger and bigger each year, that it is just total chaos and extremely loud! I always get a head ache and end up having to take someone to keep me from turning into a total witch in front of everyone.

Anyway, I knew that she really wanted some more charms for her charm bracelet but I wasn’t sure if she would like the ones that I picked out for her. So I’m really tickled that she fell in love with the ones that I finally decided on, bought, wrapped up and gave to her that day. Each time I have seen her since that day she has been wearing her charm bracelet and she has mentioned a few times how much she loves them. She isn’t the easiest person to please, never has been and most likely never will, so with that said I really don’t want to break my arm patting myself on the back for a job well done, but I am really very happy with the way it all turned out.

Making A Fashion Statement

One thing that I have been reluctant to admit is that I have trouble reading now. Everyone knows that once you hit 30 years old you are facing the inevitable need for reading glasses. The problem is that if you have been wearing eyeglasses most of your life for correction of your distance vision, the need for reading glasses means that you will need bifocals. I’m having a hard time admitting that I need eyeglasses that are bifocals. It makes me think of my dad in his later years and wearing bifocals just seems to make you old.

So my sister told me that I just to need to “get over myself” and get my eyes the help they need to be able to read. She says I look a bigger fool for not being able to read a menu at the restaurant than being so vain about bifocals. She went so far as to suggest that eyeglasses can be a fun fashion accessory. That made me think about eyeglasses – even bifocals – in a different light. What if I could buy several pairs of eyeglasses and use them as accessories? They would have to be inexpensive – as opposed to cheap – so I could have several pairs in different styles and colors.

Boot Style Slippers

I have never asked for slippers as a Christmas gift in my whole life, but this year they are on the top of my wish list. Since removing the wall-to-wall carpet from the entire main level of my home, I have noticed that the bare wood is extremely cold and I’m tired of wearing just my socks, as they tend to get dirty quickly and that is just gross and wrong.  I have a pair of slippers but they are so old that a nice new warm pair of the boot style slippers would make me a very happy camper this year. I wonder if they slippers with little heaters on them, that would be awesome. I’ve seen them with flash lights on them before, pretty crazy if you ask me. But what ever works for you!

If I don’t get a pair on Christmas morning I’m sure I’ll be receiving a few gift cards here and there that I will be able to use to buy some. The after Christmas sales are a great time to get things at great discount prices. It’s my favorite time of the year to shop. Too bad I’m usually way too broke, but those wonderful gift cards do come in handy after Christmas.

Way Too Practical For Bling These Days

The last couple of chicks that I know that have gotten themselves engaged and are now sporting a nice sized diamond ring for all the world to see how much their fiance has spent on them in order to show/prove their love for them. I have never had much interest in having a big rock on my finger, guess I’m just way too practical for that type of adornment. I’d rather have my rent paid, my car running and groceries in the house and maybe a couple of bucks in my savings account for emergency situations.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a typical woman that likes a bit of Bling to adorn my body with, but these days I just think that there are more important things to spend that much money on.

No Socks For Men and No Stockings For Women

What is going on here guys? I keep seeing men on TV that appear to not be wearing any socks and it just looks so gross. Are they really not wearing any socks or are they wearing see through knee high hose? A few months ago I was watching a TV show “Millionaire Match Maker” and I remember hearing the match maker tell one of the ladies in waiting to take her panty hose off because they are not in fashion any more. So I guess it is men and women that are changing what they wear on their feet and legs and I don’t like it one bit.

Friends In The Military

Was checking the custom air force shirts selection at Rangerup.com today. I really, really, really like this site. Their motto: Not everyone’s war stories end in High School – was what caught my attention a while back while I was up late one night mindlessly surfing the Internet. I ended up Bookmarking the site and I come back to it every now and then to see what mind blowing stuff they are putting out there for us all.

With Christmas coming up I am looking for some ideas to mull around and I love their custom air force shirts selection. I have many friends in the military, a few in each of branches actually. When I stop and think about it I know more people that I originally thought that have and are putting their lives on the line for their family and our country and there are several that I buy Christmas presents for each year. I’m thinking I’ll be spending more time at RangerUp.com as Christmas gets nearer and nearer and nearer and nearer………..

Mars and Venus

They say that men are from Mars and women are from Venus. I have not read that book but I get the concept.

Here’s a snapshot of the two scarecrows that I made last year. I made one of the boy scarecrows into a girl by adding lipstick and eyelashes with marker pens. Then I cut off the straw bow tie from around her neck and stuck it under her hat to make bangs.

So my ex husband came over and took a look at the curb to take a look at my handiwork. I thought I was pretty clever with my “gender change” techniques. He took one look at the two scarecrows and this is what he said, “Can’t you stick something down her shirt so she has boobs?”

Cheap Sun Glasses

I went to the Flea Market on Sunday, the rains finally stopped and the sun was shining and the place was packed with vendors and customers as well. There was a dealer selling sun glasses for $12 or two for $20, so I found two pairs that I think look good and walked away a happy camper.
