Keeping Up With the Times

Find a match online is the way to go these days if you are looking for a partner in life. There are many dating and matchmaking sites available and it’s good that there are options out there with this in mind. A good online dating review site can be found at primedatingsites.com, they have taken the time to check out many of the dating sites and give you an insight to what many of them have to offer.

We have all heard of eHarmony.com, but there are plenty of other dating sites that are available out there that haven’t done all the marketing that eHarmony has done on TV. Yahoo Personals is well known, well because it’s Yahoo, but to see other services one only has to go to this review site to find detailed information on American Singles, Date.com, Match.com, Friend Finder and numerous others as well.

With so many online dating sites available it would be wise to check and see what you possibly could be getting into, I know I would if I ever went that route. Times are a changing and you need to keep up with the times, safely and using your head and common sense.

Sad News Just Keeps Coming

First we hear about Ed McMahon, not too shocking since he was getting up there in age and hasn’t been in the best of health lately. Then we hear about Farrah Fawcett fight with cancer that finally ended with her passing, hopefully in peace. When it was announced about Michael Jackson’s sudden demise and Farrah’s story was put on the back burner. And now Billy Mays has left this world due to a heart attack. These are all sad stories to hear and read about and I hope that we won’t be experiencing any more until we are able to digest all that has happened in the last few weeks.

That Time of Year

When I was on the back porch smoking a cigarette I noticed several fire flies out and about for the first time this spring! Each year they some how manage to bring a smile to my face and I find myself entranced with them time and time again!  One of life’s few simple pleasures.

A Good and Proud Redneck

DWI – DONE TEXAS STYLE
Only a person in Texas could think of this.

From the county where drunk driving is considered a sport, comes this true story. Recently a routine police patrol parked outside a bar in Austin , Texas . After last call, the officer noticed a man leaving the bar so apparently intoxicated that he could barely walk.

The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes, with the officer quietly observing. After what seemed an eternity in which he tried his keys on five different vehicles, the man managed to find his car and fall into it.

He sat there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the bar and drove off.

Finally he started the car, switched the wipers on and off–it was a fine, dry summer night–, flicked the blinkers on and off a couple of times, honked the horn and t hen switched on the lights.

He moved the vehicle forward a few inches, reversed a little and then remained still for a few more minutes as some more of the other patrons’ vehicles left.

At last, when his was the only car left in the parking lot, he pulled out and drove slowly down the road.

The police officer, having waited patiently all this time, now started up his patrol car, put on the flashing lights, promptly pulled the man over and administered a breathalyzer test.

To his amazement, the breathalyzer indicated no evidence that the man had consumed any alcohol at all!

Dumbfounded, the officer said, “I’ll have to ask you to accompany me to the police station.”

This breathalyzer equipment must be broken.’

‘I doubt it,’ said the truly proud Redneck. ‘Tonight I’m the designated decoy.’

It’s Just A Bunch of Bull

Every year we hear all of the horrible terrifying news from the annual Running of the Bulls, and it seems to be that time of the year once again. I have never really understood why this annual event even takes place considering the fatalities and injuries that occur each and every year! And for this to take place in the middle of July when the heat is at it’s worst, beats me. I wonder how many people are going to get hurt this year.

8th and Finale Season on Scrubs

I have always loved the show Scrubs. I’m saddened to find out that this is the last session that it will be produced and aired. I remember the first time I watched Scrubs, it was a bit hard to swallow, but I soon realized that it was a really funny show and I will miss it dearly. Thank goodness for re runs!

Craig Brings Out the Best

Sometimes when I have trouble falling asleep I put the TV in our bedroom on the channel that has the late night Craig Ferguson show. He is so funny and adorable at the same time. I love his Scottish accent and the way he pokes fun at himself, and he has a cast of hilarious characters – played by himself, of course.I’m surprised at how many big name stars agree to come on his show. He always has guests that are fun and lively and talkative. I get a feeling that they are relaxed and more like themselves as real people when they are on his show. Craig brings out the best in everyone

San Diego Chargers Kicked Some Butt

Last night’s game between the Colts and the Chargers was an exciting game right on up until the end, which resulted in having to go into overtime where the Chargers kicked some butt. The Chargers played a great ball game all evening and certainly deserved to win this game and I hope that they go all the way this year!

The Super Bowl will be a fun event, I look forward to entertaining a few friends at the house while watching it in a few weeks!

Better late than Never

Today is the day after Christmas, the mail man delivered 6 Christmas Cards to my door this afternoon, that is almost as many as I had gotten all during the holiday season. But like the old saying goes “Better Late Than Never”

As it turns out…..

My ex in-laws never seemed to be able to put a plan in place for today’s Thanksgiving meal, not surprising really, their life style is so much different from anything that I have ever had experienced in my life, so laid back and totally informal, taking one day as it comes, so to speak. Well this time their lack of commitment and planning has made the decision a bit easier this Thanksgiving, we are planning on leaving in a few hours to head to my folks for the late afternoon or early evening diner hour, not sure what time frame 4:30pm fits into! At least the weather is cooperating, it is really nice out, less bundling and layering to deal with today!

Now we have to start thinking about what is ahead of us for the Christmas Holiday plans with both families to keep in mind, argg…..
