We’ve Got Snow

Well we really have been lucky so far this year. It has been cold, but no snow. That is until yesterday. One minute it was starting to come down and in just a few hours we had over 5 inches and it was still coming down. The worst part is that right as I was starting to put diner together the power went out so a quick peanut butter and marshmallow fluff sandwich with a bottle of water, that I keep in the garage, was eaten by candle light and off to bed I went.

The house was starting to get chilly so I piled on the blankets and grabbed a flash light and my book and read for a few hours until my arms got tired of holding the flashlight and the book. It took a while but I finally dozed off,  I have to have the TV on when I go to sleep and of course with no power, no TV. At 3:30 the light came on in my room, so I turned the TV on and finally went to sleep for a few hours.

Man I hate snow!

What They Call A Perfect Comeback

Took my dad to the mall the other day to buy some new shoes.

I noticed he was watching someone walking next to him

The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors – green, red, orange & blue – and my dad kept staring at her.

The teen would look over and find my dad staring, every time.

When she’d finally had enough, she sarcastically asked:

“What’s the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?”

Knowing my Dad as I do, I quickly swallowed my food so I wouldn’t choke on his response – I knew he’d have a good one!

In classic style, he responded without batting an eyelid:

“Got drunk once and had sex with a peacock. I was just wondering if you were my daughter.”

Pit Bulls & The Weather on TV

I’m so glad that “Pit Bulls and Parolees” is back once again on The Animal Planet Channel. I wish that I had known about the show two years ago when it first came on, but I did see all of last years. There are a lot of re runs on that I’ve managed to see and I’ve been waiting for tonight’s episode to come on, so I’m off to Reality Show Land for the evening and keeping an eye on the weather channel as well. We are expecting a huge snow storm, but we will see how it turns out tomorrow.

Did Anyone Lose A Cat?

This is one of the better animal pictures that can be found on the Internet. Most of the animal pictures are of cats and dogs, although I’m sure you can find just about any type of animal online. So I had a giggle or two looking at it and wanted to post it along here today.

Facebook vs. MySpace

I had a friend over today and she took the time to show me around her Facebook pages and taught me a few things that will be good to know when I finally decide to plunge in and open my own account. I have to say that I think MySpace is a lot cooler, so I’m not sure what all the fuss is about with Facebook.

First Snow of the Winter

I appreciate the guest post, Jamie Guy

While most people enjoy the warm summer months, which provide many outdoor recreational opportunities, I personally enjoy the winter months and am always very excited for the first snow of the winter. During the winter months, there are many fun activities that can keep people active. With the first snow of winter, I enjoy going to the local and play football with my friends. Playing football in the snow is a lot of fun because falling to the ground or being tackled is not nearly as painful.

Also, I enjoy the first snow of winter because it is a lot of fun for my dog. My dog enjoys playing in the snow and can remain active for hours at a time without being bored or running out energy. While the first snow of winter does create a lot of fun and great memories, it does wear me out after a long period of time. After playing in the snow for a few hours I enjoy going inside and relaxing by the fire while watching my satellite television.

Facebook

My friends have been bugging me to start utilizing Facebook. So one of my New Year’s resolutions is to take the plunge into the Facebook social network. But I’ll still be keeping up my blog, I’ll keep you posted. Hope Christmas was a good one folks, I’m glad it’s over for this year, next year will be here soon enough.

All Is Well

Finally got things all wrapped up and ready to go for Christmas day. Am planning on heading out on Christmas eve to my parent’s house and spending the night there as to be ready nice and early Christmas day to help out with all that needs to be done for the big day.

Supercell Thunderstorm Rolls at Sunset

This is a great photo that I ran across on Yahoo that really caught my attention and I wanted to post here. I wouldn’t want to be any where near this storm!

AMPHIBIANS NEED MONEY TOO

A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller.

He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack.

Very politely he asks..”Miss Whack, I’d like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday.”

Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name.

The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it’s okay, he knows the bank manager.

Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral.

The frog says, “Sure. I have this,” and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.

Very confused, Patty explains that she’ll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office.

She finds the manager and says, “There’s a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral.”

She holds up the tiny pink elephant. “I mean, what in the world is this?”

The bank manager looks back at her and says…

“It’s a knick-knack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man’s a Rolling Stone.”
