Looking For Father’s Day Deals

I can’t help buy wonder what the Internet will be like in the next 5 or 10 years. I just can’t imagine it doing and offering any more than it all ready does, but I’m sure that there are many things in the works for us to see and use in the future. We have all ready become so dependent on our computers for just about everything we do these days, I can’t imagine life without it.

With Father’s Day coming up, we have all ready figured out what to get our Dad, but now we are working on finding something for our Grandfather, who is a recent widow and isn’t in the best of health these days. We have to find something for him that he will be able to use and to enjoy. Grandpa always enjoyed fishing, but hasn’t done much of it these past couple of years, so we are thinking about finding him a nice new fishing pole as a gift.

I found a great new site that can find deals at Savings.com. It’s a pretty cool site that you can ask, answer and save on. You submit your question, mine being “Where can I find good quality fishing poles at discount prices” then you provide them with your email address and then you sit back and wait for the answers to come straight to your email. Pretty easy right? I’ll let you know how it pans out over the next day or two.

A New Atomic Watch For Father’s Day

I am surprised to find that people are still buying and wearing wrist watches these days, since most people are turning to their cell phones, their Black Berries and all of the other types of technology that we all rely on every day. My father is a perfect example of someone that still wears a watch and he is asking for a new one for Father’s Day which is coming up next month. My mother has all ready purchased a gift for him, something that she picked up several months ago for him that she stuck away to use for Father’s Day. So my mother has asked us kids to pitch in a find him one of the Atomic Watches that he has been eyeballing for some time now which is cool with us since we never know what to get him, so this will make it easier for us all.

It is up to me to find the perfect watch for him so of course I’ve turned to the Internet to do the job for me. I think I’ve found one that he will appreciate and wear. It’s a Casio GW9100-1 Men’s Atomic Solar G-Shock Gulf Man Black Digital Back that usually sells for $220 and is on sale for $155 that I found at bluedail.com. I’ve sent the link to my brother and sister to make sure they are happy with my selection before I actually order it. I can’t imagine either one of them having an issue with it and if they do I will let them know that they are more than welcome to find one that they think would be better and I’ll back down from it, no problem. But I think this will do just fine and I’m anxious to go ahead and get started on getting my order in although we have plenty of time. Good thing bluedial.com has free 2 day shipping if we get too close to the deadline before making a final decision.

I’m Excited About The Prospect of Attending the 2012 Olympics, London

I can’t believe that I had not heard, up until now at least, that the 2012 Olympics are scheduled to be held in London. Wow, England is having a very busy time of i,t as of late, what with the recent Royal wedding that will take some time for the place to get over that spectacular event and next thing you know that place will become busy as ever preparring for the Olympics.

I have never been a real big fan of the Olympics but attending one in person is a whole nother matter. So I am starting to think that there is chance of me making a trip overseas and getting into the Olympics scene, London style. I have always wanted to take a trip over to Europe, I mean really, who hasn’t? There is still time to save up some money, get a few other people involved as well to go, which will help reduce the cost just a bit. Not a big group of people mind you, the more people you have involved the more complicated things get so I’m thinking that a group of 3 or 4 would be perfect so I need to think of who would want to go, who will behave themselves and still have fun and who can afford the trip as well.

I have some friends, Bill and Mary, that love to travel. The last trip they took, they rented one of those lovely, enchanting apartments in Puerto Pollensa and had a great time, bringing home more pictures that a person has a right to have. I can’t figure out how they managed to do everything that they claim that they did with all of the picture taking going on with them this time. It seems that Bill has just got a nice new fairly expensive camera for Christmas and he was trying to break it in, O.K. now who believes that a camera needs to be broken in for goodness sake? Seriously, they must have at least 1000 pictures from a one week vacation, that is a lot of picture taking going on there folks.

Bill and Mary have already been talking and researching their next trip to the largest island of Greece, Crete. They are planning on renting a holiday villas in Crete and are looking fora few other folks that would like to go along with them. I’m not all that crazy about going to Greece, but maybe I can talk them in going there the following year and go to London with me instead. They would be great to travel with, the three of us have gotten long really good for over 16 years now so I don’t think that they would ruin the trip with a bunch of petty trivia that a lot of couples go through and end up doing. What a waste of everyone’s time, money and energy, which are three things that I don’t want to give up easily for a no good, no account reason, right?

Guess I’ll start looking around a bit online and see what is what over there. I don’t know anything about England, but I’m willing and able to learn, so I have a lot to learn for this exciting event that is something that I’ve wanted to do ever since I can remember. At least I don’t have to learn another language, but will have to brush up on some of their customs and stuff like that. I’m getting excited about it all, I hope that I can make it happen.

Those Wacky Scrubs Wearing Medical Professionals On [scrubs]

I remember the first time that I watched the popular TV show [scrubs], I wasn’t impressed. Their type of wacky humor just didn’t float my boat, in fact it was a major turn off, so much so that I didn’t give the show a second chance for over a year. But as time went by and I would once in a while be hard pressed for something to watch and ended up watching a few episodes now and then, here and there and now I’m pretty much a hard core fan. Watching these corn ball medical professionals running around in all their scrub uniforms, playing havoc with one another in such wacky off the wall situations, not only in their work environment at the hospital, but off the clock as well, just cracks me up.

I’m wondering if that show helped inspired the medical field to wear uniforms that aren’t just the normal green scrubs that we all have seen them wear in the past. Now a days they have such a wide selection of medical uniforms that they can wear for a much better variety for them to choose from, which I think is great. I don’t think I could wear the same thing day after day, year after year. After all variety is the spice of life. I love it when I see someone in Pediatrics and they are sporting a cute Disney or Winnie The Pooh scrub on and I’m sure that the kids like it better as well. Anything that helps make it easier for the kids (and the staff) is worth it, right?

I Like Free!

I like free stuff. I really enjoy going to Costco from time to time and spending an hour or two gazing at all of the goodies that they have there priced so cheaply, but in bulk, as well as taking advantage of all of the free samples that are to be found at the end of each aisle. It’s a good way to find out if you truly like a product before spending you hard earned money on it. The Food Court at the local usually has at least one resturant handing out free samples to lure you into there establishment. A great marketing strategy to be sure.

Some times I stumble onto good sites that I find on the Internet that offer free samples, freebies and free stuff and when I do I like to pass along the information here. So I’m encouraging folks to check out my latest find where you can find all types of freebies. Right now you can even find free cell phones, now how cool is that. Go to Freecatcher.com and see if you would be interested in some of their offers, I’ll bet you’ll find all types of cool deals to take advantage of. You just can’t beat FREE!

Eye Wear from Zenni Optical

Wow, I’m impressed with the idea and the feature that Zenni Optical has come out with. They now have a way for us to see what we will look like with the glasses that they have for sale with their virtual try on frames program. All you do is upload a picture of yourself and start choosing what frames you want to see on yourself. Now how cool is that?

The price of eyeglasses varies from place to place with some places charging an arm and a leg for their products. Zenni Optical is known for their affordable prices on their wide variety of eye wear and they just reduced more of their glasses from $8 a pair to $6.95 so that is promising in a time where the prices of just about everything are sky rocketing right before our eyes.

My eyesight is very important to me, bad eyes run in the family and I’ve had to wear eye glasses since the 4th grade. I’d love to have the laser eye surgery at some point, but I have to wait for the prices to come down some before I try that. The prices are dropping so one day I hope to have all most perfect eyesight once again and won’t have to worry about eye glasses ever again. That will be a nice change. In the mean time I’ll stick with Zenni Optical and their products. Now I just need to take a picture of myself and get the party started!

Gift Suggestions

My youngest sister Becky has emailed me desperate for some gift suggestions for our eldest sister (Briannah) who moved away years ago to the great state of Maine. Becky and Briannah didn’t really get a chance to establish much of a relationsip due to the large gap in ages and then living so far apart, so Becky is stuck with trying to figure out what would be a good gift to send to Briannah. So I’ve been spending some time looking around at all the various sites that sell good quality shoe, since Briannah has always been a shoe freak.

I have ordered several items from Zappos.com in the past and have always been very happy with the experiences and the products that I’ve ordered. Cole Haan has always had some awesome shoes, clothing and accessories that I’ve enjoyed and I’m sure that our sister Briannah would appreciate and enjoy their Cole Haan Air Melanie Rain Boots since she is always complaining about the cold and wet weather that she deals with up in Maine. It makes me wonder why she moved to such a cold environment the way she carries on about the cold.

Anway, Zappos offers free shipping both ways and guarantees delivery before Christmas, so I hope that my suggestion will make both of my sisters happy for the up and coming Christmas holiday that will be here before you know it.

Check out these Cole Haan Air Melanie Root Boots, aren’t they awesome looking?

AMPHIBIANS NEED MONEY TOO

A frog goes into a bank and approaches the teller.

He can see from her nameplate that her name is Patricia Whack.

Very politely he asks..”Miss Whack, I’d like to get a $30,000 loan to take a holiday.”

Patty looks at the frog in disbelief and asks his name.

The frog says his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it’s okay, he knows the bank manager.

Patty explains that he will need to secure the loan with some collateral.

The frog says, “Sure. I have this,” and produces a tiny porcelain elephant, about an inch tall, bright pink and perfectly formed.

Very confused, Patty explains that she’ll have to consult with the bank manager and disappears into a back office.

She finds the manager and says, “There’s a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow $30,000, and he wants to use this as collateral.”

She holds up the tiny pink elephant. “I mean, what in the world is this?”

The bank manager looks back at her and says…

“It’s a knick-knack, Patty Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man’s a Rolling Stone.”

So You Think You Can Dance

I really enjoy dancing and even love watching dancing, any type of dance, it’s all good. So it’s so cool that there are so many TV shows featuring dance. Tonight’s “So You Think You Can Dance” was spectacular. There is so much great talent out there that are getting a rare opportunity to show it off.

Let The Games Begin

I just heard that the Redskins are gearing up for tomorrow which will be their first pre-season game of this up and coming professional football season. I can’t believe that football season is so close to starting all ready. Next thing you know it will be Thanksgiving and then of course Christmas will be consuming us all in no time. Really the only good thing about fall and winter is football, I’m glad that I have subscribed to the sunday ticket with my satellite provider, Direct TV. I always enjoy having friends over on Sunday’s for a good game and a good time with plenty of munchies and loads of cold beer. I have a good sized flat screen TV that makes watching the games a much better experience then it was before I invested in a big screen like I did.

My good friend, Donna from work also enjoys football, she has the Cox cable sports package and she likes to have people over on Monday for the Monday games, so it works out real well for everyone involved. We have a lot in common, other than just working at the same place and we have become pretty darn good friends these past couple of years.

So which ever is the most convenient – be it cable sports or satellite sports between the two of us we’ve got it covered. I hope the Redskins start the year with a major win over the Buffalo Bills, guess we will find out tomorrow, let the games begin!
