Roseanne Needs A Big Bang

There must be some type of Roseanne marathon going on this past week or so. As much as I love the Roseanne show that was so popular in the 90’s I have become tired of the reruns over and over. I have to admit that once in a blue moon I will see one that I don’t remember, but not often enough to be glued to the TV in anticipation of one of those showing up. It’s too bad that this show had to come to an end. It really was an awesome show, with an awesome cast, many of them we get to see showing up on the new hit TV show The Big Bang Theory which has become one of my favorite shows these past couple of years.

Look who are dating again after all these years and on a completely different show!

Photography

It’s too bad that I never took photography seriously back in school. We had a great teacher who became very well-known in the photography world and really loved teaching everything that he knew and was continuing to learn to his students. Some of them became professional photographers and have done quite well. I love taking pictures, but am lacking what it takes to constantly and consistently shoot good photos. One day I would love to take a class to learn more about it, I do so appreciate a really great shot, much like the one below that I found online today.

Friends In The Military

Was checking the custom air force shirts selection at Rangerup.com today. I really, really, really like this site. Their motto: Not everyone’s war stories end in High School – was what caught my attention a while back while I was up late one night mindlessly surfing the Internet. I ended up Bookmarking the site and I come back to it every now and then to see what mind blowing stuff they are putting out there for us all.

With Christmas coming up I am looking for some ideas to mull around and I love their custom air force shirts selection. I have many friends in the military, a few in each of branches actually. When I stop and think about it I know more people that I originally thought that have and are putting their lives on the line for their family and our country and there are several that I buy Christmas presents for each year. I’m thinking I’ll be spending more time at RangerUp.com as Christmas gets nearer and nearer and nearer and nearer………..

Blackberry Wine

The first year that we moved into the  house, a good buddy of mine brought a cutting of blackberry vine, it immediately got planted into the ground and has been thriving brilliantly ever since. The best part is that it is the variety of black berries that don’t have those horrible thorns all through out the vines. The past couple of years it has been producing the most wonderful berries that I now eagerly pick twice a week, eating them by the hand fulls along the way. I usually end up giving a good amount of them away to friends and neighbors and also freeze a large quantity for my own personal use and enjoyment.

In return for the original cutting that started all of this, my buddy is allowed to come at any time and pick his fill, in which he turns around and makes a great batch of wine out of them. And in the end, I end up with a couple of very nice tasting home made wine, from these delicious berries that come from my own back yard. How about that!

A Whole New World

Due to so many people urging me to, I have gone ahead and started an account on Facebook. It is a whole new world to me and it will take me a bit to get it all figured out but so far so good. It’s only been a few weeks and all ready I have a ton of “friends” and several people that I’ve known from years ago have contacted me through it’s search features, you gotta love it.

Just last night I found that a friend from elementary school had found her way to my account. She provided me with her phone number and we talked for over an hour on the phone last night. Thank goodness for my unlimited long distance that I currently have on my land line. She is living in Denver Colorado, married with children and living the life, which is so good to hear. Both she and her husband are secure in their jobs, are in good health and live in a nice house in a nice neighborhood.

Her biggest news was that she and her husband were both experiencing weight issues so they decided to go over to the U.K. where she received the  tummy tuck surgery  that has become so popular these days and her husband had liposuction done on him. They incorporated a vacation away from the kids and had the surgery done at the same time. She sent me the before and after pictures of them and I have to say that I’m impressed. It’s good to know that the economy hasn’t played havoc on everyone that I know.

Email Marketing Options

Was reading an interesting blog post about email marketing that my sister sent to me in a link on Facebook. As I have mentioned we are in the process of starting our own small family run and owned business and we are looking at various marketing options. The Yellow Pages are out of the question, it’s all about the Internet these days and those advertising options are a whole new ballpark for us. We have a lot to figure out, but we have plenty of time and aren’t going to rush into anything, baby steps, we want to do this thing right the first time.

Breaking In My New Boots

Today was the perfect riding day. I was so thrilled when my bud Mike called and said he was on his way over on his Harley to take me for a nice long ride up the Blue Ridge Parkway. I got a chance to wear my new Motorcycle Riding Boots for the third time, it will take a few more rides to get them really broke in, but they are nice looking and comfortable, so I’m a happy camper so far with them.

I have needed a nice break on the back of a bike, I’m so thankful for my friends that keep me in mind for rides all year round.

Judge Judy

I don’t know about you, but Judge Judy really gives me the creeps. All of the other day time television court room judges I can handle, but Judge Judy is way over the top. Just the sound of her voice sends shivers down my spine. I can’t imagine every consenting to air my dirty laundry on national TV with her on the bench, no way, no how!

Neighbors and their gardens

Most of my neighbor’s here, seem to have a vegetable garden that they are tending to and I love that every now and then there is someone at my door with a basket of healthy garden goodies that are being given away, due to the fact that they are growing more than they can handle on their own, which is good for folks like me that love freebies and too lazy to grow my own garden.

I love this time of year because I now have a good supply of green beans, yellow squash, cherry tomatoes, and several nice, large Beefeater tomatoes, that will taste so good on a sandwich, with lots and lots of mayo!

Never Too Old to Learn

I have to tell you that I really thought that you had to be an IT in order to gain remote access to a computer, I mean every place that I ever worked at, if you had problems with your desk computer you called Tech Support and they somehow always managed to gain remote access to the darn thing and before you knew it, all was running smooth once again. Well usually that was the case any way. I always wondered how they could do that, but never thought to ask.

I was having issues with my laptop over the week end and was crying to blues to a friend when she told me that her cousin was a whiz with computers and could help me if I allowed her to gain remote access to it. That really through me for a loop and got my curiosity up and running.

After my computer was acting better, a shout out to my friend’s cousin by the way, I went online and looked around a bit on the subject of remote access and found that anyone can get the software that is needed to safely gain access to another computer. Remotepc.com has the means to securelyand quickly access your Internet enabled computer, whether it be at work or home. They even have a demo that is worth the time to check out and learn from if you feel the need to learn more as I did. Now I know!
