ShopWiki A Unique Comparison Engine

I am not one of the crazy people that venture out on Black Friday, as many of my friends, co workers and family members are known for doing. I tried it once about 10 years ago and I swore that I’d never do that again. And that was before the headlines were always full of horror stories of fights and stampedes that have taken place in recent years due to ever growing amount of people that are attending these fiasco’s now a days.

I see no reason to deal with such nonsense when I can easily get what ever I need at home on my computer. With so many buying guides to help shoppers and so many shopping comparison engines available to everyone all across the globe it is so easy to find what you need using the good old Internet. ShopWiki is expanding their services into Europe and I find it interesting at times to check out what is available in other countries such as the Netherlands, Spain, Germany and France. But my favorites are the ones that are English speaking such as the UK and Australia, a much easier read, not having to use one of the many Google translating services, which are pretty cool and do come in handy from time to time.

Large Population Numbers

I find it very disturbing that there are so many people who have let themselves go and have become grossly over weight. No one can deny the fact that when out in public the amount of people that you come across need to loss weight, and I’m not talking about the folks that could take off 10 or 20 pounds, but more the likes of needing to get rid of 50 to 100 pounds of blubber, ugh….While listening to the local news last night, I heard a new story that tells us that the numbers are in, statistics are now showing that 2/3 of the U.S. population are over weight! That is a ridiculous number and if that isn’t a wake up call, I don’t know what is.

Locating The Right Raleigh Air Conditioning

We can only hope that the Raleigh air conditioning company that my sister contacted can come out quickly and get the job done in a timely fashion. This heat wave is getting totally unbearable for most of us, with no end in sight. My goodness it is only the middle of June and we are having extreme weather that is unhealthy for a good amount of folks around here. I can’t image not having air conditioning through this whole ordeal.

Since sis doesn’t know may people in the area that she just moved to she had to rely on the Internet to find someone to come to her rescue. It didn’t take long for her to find someone, I really hope it all works out well for all concerned.

The Jetson’s Got That Right!

Today’s technology is really making things happen, we aren’t quite up to speed with what the “Jetson’s” portrayed the 21st century to be, but they certainly hit the nail on the head with so many things that it is uncanny to watch this show that is still on some of the cartoon channels that I get with my satellite programming package.

On thing that has become a reality is the video conferencing services , we became accustomed to seeing his boss, Mr. Beasley coming onto the home monitor to speak with George Jetson at any given time. That certainly was something that no one thought would be a reality any time soon, oh how little did we know.

Today we have the convenience of web and video conferencing at our disposal, thanks to the Internet and all it has to offer us all. One only has to launch their web browser and click on a link. No more waiting to get people in the same place at the same time, in a matter of minutes you can get on with your business at hand and get the job done with so much less hassle and expense.

Since webcams have become much more affordable and access to the Internet so main streamed, any business can have the ability to teleconference. This has become a much less complicated process that now allows anyone to start holding a secure online conference to use as a great communication tool.

Now I can’t wait to see when cars start flying as they pictured them doing on The Jetson’s!

Recycling, It’s All Good

At my last job they gave me a POS laptop and printer. For being an executive at that company, I sure wasn’t treated like one. I felt like the red headed stepchild. Got out of there in 6 months flat – long enough to make a decent stab at it for the resume, plus a nice little paycheck. But the boss was a jerk and the company was going down the tank, so I got out of there. But a little bonus from that was that the POS printer is actually perfect for this freelance job I’m doing. The HP1020 Laserjet prints fast and cheap and it never jams. It’s a real workhorse for under $100, and the toner cartridges, which cost about $60 each retail, can be picked up at the recycling store for only $45.

The recycled cartridges don’t print as dark a black, but that doesn’t matter for the reports I crank out. I’ve been using 2 recycled cartridges every month for a year and have not had any issues at all – knock on wood. And I’ve saved about $30 per month, so if you need a cheap reliable printer that uses recycled cartridges well, try to grab this one up.

If I like anything, it’s the kiss of death. It is sure to be discontinued soon.

Scrubs For The Summer

As you know I am looking for some new clothes to wear for the hot summer months. As much as I love summer, the heat is becoming harder and harder to tolerate, so it is getting harder to find clothes to wear that keep me cooler while still looking at least half way decent out in public. My sister just gave me a great idea about wearing some of the scrubs uniforms that so many of our medical people have been wearing and enjoying for years now. They are indeed coming out with some pretty cool scrub uniforms these days, so I’m taking her recommendation and have gone to blue sky scrubs website and ordered a couple sets of them to try out.

Of course I took advantage of the sets that they currently have on sale. The colors are all good colors for me to wear so it wasn’t a problem finding some that I think will do the trick quite nicely. I like that they have free returns and exchanges for all orders and that you can get free shipping with orders of $155 or more, which I just barely qualified for, but I did it!
