Cheap Eyeglasses Are A Reality

I learned so much about eyeglasses when I worked for the Christmas shopping season at the mall years ago at a small kiosk that sold sunglasses. I never imagined how many varieties, styles, brands, sizes, price ranges, and all of the options that are out there these days for eye wear. I enjoyed working there and the experience has made me more aware of the importance of sunglasses. But I have to say that I was surprised to see how much money some of these sunglasses cost and how many people were willing to shell out some big bucks for some of the famous designer sunglasses. They just felt the need to over pay for these items, paying for the brand name is what they were doing.

Anyway I came out of the deal with enough money to have a good Christmas as well as several pairs of sunglasses that I got while they were on sale and while using my employee discount as well. We all know how easy it is to lose or break your glasses and I’m no different from anyone else and I find myself down to only one pair and that will never do. So I’ve been looking around online to see what I could find there.

I ran across an article in the Examiner that was discussing Zenni Optical and how easy it is (and affordable) to find almost any type of eye wear on their website. You can even download a picture of yourself and they have it set up to where you can virtually try on all the glasses that they sell. You name it and they seem to have it there, good quality eye wear for cheap prices.  I’ve had fun experimenting with it all and I’m placing my order next Friday. I’ll let you know what I think when I receive my order. Might even post a picture or two!

It’s Always Been All About Shoes

I love shoes, actually I love any type of foot wear, my favorites are boots and flip flops. I must have a dozen pairs of boots and several dozen pairs of flip flops that are taking up a lot of space in my walk in closet. My mother has always been frustrated with my need for new shoes and my father constantly was threatening to throw all of them out, back when I still lived at home, man that used to really irritate me to no end. I’m so glad that I don’t have to deal with all of that nonsense any more.

But I have decided that I need to down size, just a bit. So this weekend I am going to do a major clean up and clean out of my closet and take what I don’t need or want anymore to the local thrift store so that some one else may enjoy and use them as I have done. Just in time for another donation before the 2013 tax year ends.

Trucks Aren’t Just For Guys

There is something to be said about a person that works hard and is able to purchase a brand new car. I myself have never owned a brand new car, but one day I’ll look forward to driving one right off of the lot. I’d really like to own a nice truck, they have some really nice trucks out these days and they aren’t just for men any more, I can tell you that.

I’ve been looking around a bit online and have found some really sweet looking rides for sale. And all the accessories that they have out now are just awesome. I’ve seen some nice truck grills that I’ve bookmarked for when the time comes. I do play the lottery once in a while, who knows, you can’t win if you don’t play, right?

A Good Quality Raleigh Cleaning Service

Spending some time online looking at gift options for my sister. I think she would really appreciate a raleigh cleaning service that would come into her house and get it a good cleaning, from top to bottom. She has been very overwhelmed with the new baby and her two and a half year old, which isn’t allowing her the time that she needs to get everything done that normally she would be right on top of.

The Other Woman, Inc sounds like they would be the perfect fit for what sis needs and wants. I have heard about The Other Woman from other people and they all seem to be satisfied with them. Word of mouth is still the best way of advertising, with the Internet falling right on it’s heels. I hope that this gift from me to her will make her Christmas a good one and that we have many more Christmas holidays ahead of us all.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

A few years ago, while perusing through TV channels one Saturday evening, I discovered that my favorite Christmas tale of all time, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, was airing in its live action movie format. I’d loved the book and the cartoon specials as a child and thought they did a good job of fleshing out the story in order to accommodate the feature length format. I was living with my college roommates at the time and we waxed nostalgia while enjoying it on TV. The movie plot basically follows the book where the anti-Christmas Grinch tries to spoil it for the people of Whoville by stealing all of their presents. Realizing the true meaning of Christmas after the folks of Whoville were able to enjoy it even without presents, the Grinch has a change of heart. The movie was directed by Ron Howard and starred Jim Carrey. It originally came out back in 2000 at the height of Carrey’s popularity.

Anyway, watching it has pretty much become an annual holiday event for me. Now that I’m out of school and back at home, I’ve been watching it the last two years with my parents. We usually catch the weekend showing when the whole family can get together. The only other requirements we have are some snacks, drinks and some cozy blankets.
