TV

Over the weekend I went along to the Emergency Room with my sister and her 3 year old son. He had a high fever and was broken out with some type of rash. After speaking with the pediatrician over the phone she was told to take him to the ER. This was on a Saturday night, which turns out to be one of the busiest time to go to the ER, sigh……

It was a very good thing that they had Commercial DIRECT TV in the waiting room. That was the only thing that saved my sister’s sanity and kept me from sneaking outside for a smoke at their “Tobacco Free Campus” that they had numerous signs posted all over reminding us about the fact that smoking wasn’t tolerated anywhere on the property.

This ER has the good sense to have a special section of the waiting room that was playing the Disney Channel for the little ones. I thought that was pretty cool. DIRECT TV for Business is a wonderful idea and we are seeing it more and more in many businesses. The last time that I took my car in for inspection the shop had the DIRECT TV Business package going on there as well. Too bad that the remote was kept behind the counter though, they were so busy that I didn’t want to interrupt any of them to ask for the remote to change the channel. It all worked out though I wasn’t thee that long. I picked a good day that time, for a change.

Anyway, I’m all for having decent TV for clients and customers to enjoy during their waiting times. It beats the dickens out of reading the old out dated, torn up, germ infested magazines that we are used to having at our disposal in most waiting rooms. I’ve gotten in the habit of keeping a book in my car, or at least a reader’s digest in my purse just for those occasions, just in case.
