Christmas lights

I guess I’m a bit home sick this year.  My Dad used to put Christmas lights up every year and just pitch a fit about it.  We all knew he really enjoyed it because once they all were up, and working, he would stand back and look at the house with a look of pride at his accomplishment.

I said the Schmitt House!
I said the Schmitt House!

Well I decided I want to put up Christmas lights this year.  Thank God they aren’t as much of a pain as they used to be years ago.  One bulb goes out and the whole strand went dead.  Not to mention, I have had to buy all new lights since this is my first time putting them up.

I have seen some amazing light displays on the internet that play music and the lights dance to the music.  A strand or two here and there is all I’m up for!  So, let us have the decorating begin.   No my house isn’t going to look like the Schmitt either although my BFF would certainly enjoy witnessing such an event!!! Thanks for sending this great Christmas cartoon to me Lori! And I look forward to talking to you real soon!

Storage Problem solved

Since there are hundreds of people who work where I do, we always seem to have problems that need to be solved. It seems that whenever the shifts change, some people are having a tough time finding the things they brought to work. While I am sure that no one actually sets out to steal something, there might be times when they borrow it. That’s why we decided that installing some small lockers might help keep our employees items secure.

We started to look into having some office lockers installed. I found a good site called morelockers.com that had just what we needed. I talked with a representative over the phone and he was very helpful. It turns out that they carry a full line of products. The prices were well within our budget and that made it an easy choice. I was glad things went so smoothly.

Now things are so much better for everyone. When a person comes to work they can put their stuff in a locker and not have to worry about it anymore. I always say that “good fences make good neighbors” and it has turned out to be true for us. I am ready to take on the next problem we encounter as this one seems to be solved.

DMV

I have just bought a new truck. It is a 1985 ford ranger that I hope to fix up and use for various tasks. Anyway, I had to take that dreaded trip to the DMV in order to get the title straight and new tags. It was a long wait and I was missing work for every hour spent in a hard chair, not getting paid.

After I got my number, I patiently waited for it to be called. After waiting for quite a spell, my turn finally came. Guess what happened next. That’s right, I had to wait some more!! I lost 5 hours of work and no way to make it up.

I am always glad to get out of that place!

Jobs can be easy

One thing that everyone has in common is their job. Every job has its own set of problems that have to be dealt with. One thing that is good is that some jobs can be made easier using the internet. This happened to one of my relatives when she started a new job. She was overwhelmed at first, but did well in the end.

My cousin works in a hospital. She works in a management position. Part of her job was to write the hospital policies for that particular institution. She was having trouble with it as it’s a huge task. Fortunately, she found a site called policymedical.com. The site made it easy for her to complete the task she was given. She told me all about it.

The site helps people with policy management. They have the policy software that allows people to manage many forms of hospital policies. She has now completed her job and is happy that it is so easy to keep her policies up to date with the software she uses. She loves the fact that the software has saved her so much time and she is able to make changes quickly and easily. I am sure she will do well at her new job.
