The weather here in our part of the world is beautiful today. I just came inside after working in the garden for a few hours and I am happily dirty. I did some weeding and watered the plants. I also fixed the fence where it came down in the storm last week.
Anyway, I was happy to be out in the sun and even got a little bit of tan already. I think I’ll make a nice lunch and relax for a few minutes. I guess I’ll be going back out after awhile and see what else I can get done.

There is nothing like a good action movie. While there are many great action stars out there, I personally enjoy Matt Damon’s work in the Jason Bourne Trilogy.
Recently, I was in the mood for a good action flick, so I began searching the channels. The Bourne Ultimatum was on. I had not seen the movie in a while, so I decided to sit down and watch it on http://www.directstartv.com. Halfway through the movie, I found myself wishing I was a highly trained CIA operative that could take down a man in half a second. I watched, as Bourne sped through crowded streets being chased by the police, and I knew that if I was given the chance, I could drive like that too.
I was just about ready to change my career plans and begin applying to be an agent, when Bourne jumps off a building and lands into freezing water a hundred feet below. Suddenly, reality began to sink back in. I wouldn’t last five minutes as a CIA agent. I start complaining if it is too hot outside. What would happen when people started punching me? As I watched Matt Damon jump off that building into the water below, I decided that I would leave the adventure to Jason Bourne.
Their was an article in the news about how women who live in Saudi Arabia are being punished for driving to the store. In this day and age, it seems very unreasonable that women would get in trouble for so simple a task. I know our culture is different from theirs, but it just isn’t right.
Women should be allowed to drive no matter what country they live in. they should have all the rights a man has as a matter of fact. If women cannot be equal partners in this world, then some people should reconsider their religion.
The internet seems to be the latest way to make extra money. So many people are using it to get some extra business that it’s become necessary to take advantage of its services. Since I had the good fortune to be born in the month of January, it seems that I am a Capricorn. I was reading my horoscope today and was surprised to learn that some good fortune is supposed to be coming my way. Imagine that!!
It turns out that Dolly Parton was born on the same day as I. At least I have some good company in that category. Some other famous Capricorns are David Bowie, Nicholas Cage, and Jimmy Page.
It turns out that I had to visit the hospital the other day. I was at work when a friend of mine cut himself while opening some boxes. While the cut wasn’t all that bad, we still wanted to make sure that he got the proper medical care. Anyway, since I didn’t have much to do that day, I decided to volunteer to take him to the emergency room.
Any time you go to the hospital, you are in for a long wait. It seems that we waited forever until the doctors finally called him in. I had already read all the magazines in the waiting room and had gotten some snacks from the vending machines. I must admit that I was quite bored. That’s when I happened to strike up a conversation with one of the nurses.
She was wearing a nursing uniform that was quite attractive. She told me that she had ordered the uniform online from a site called http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/. Our brothers to the south are in trying times. The country of Mexico has been trying to deal with the drug cartels that plague their country. The drug cartels are the cause of corruption and violence that has spread throughout the country. They have now reached a new low.
The cartels are now being blamed for recruiting young girls to carry out their hits. Authorities have found that at least six young girls were trained to carry out hits for the cartel. I hope that Americans will realize the harm that our drug use is doing to Mexico and stop the drug trade in their tracks.
It’s funny how life takes you for surprise sometimes. I was in a convenience store today with one of my friends and he noticed that everybody was dressed for work. There was a person wearing a uniform who was obviously an air conditioner worker. There was another person who was wearing a delivery uniform. This got us to thinking about how people identify themselves.
Just then, a young lady walked into the store dressed up in cute pink scrubs. We knew that she was a nurse right away. As we stood in line, we started a conversation. A made a comment about her dress and she told me all about it. She said that she had ordered her scrubs from a site called blueskyscrubs.com. The University of California has been working on a long standing problem. That is, how to keep people from being bitten by mosquitoes. What they have discovered is that there are at least three odors that mosquitoes don’t like. The odors essentially block the ability of mosquitoes from knowing that a human is near. This in turn keeps them from sucking the blood they crave.
Scientists are working on the problem of turning this knowledge into a practical compound that can be used by humans to keep the mosquitoes off. I hope they get it working soon!!
One problem that I have encountered this year is carpets. I do a lot of work outside and I seem to be unable to clean my shoes before I come inside. It has caused a lot of tension between me and my wife as we fight over this all the time. She is constantly reminding me to take off my shoes before I come inside. This has me in a bind as I just can’t seem to think about it before I enter the house.
Luckily, I have found a solution to our problem. All I have to do is contact a Carpet Cleaning Round Rock company and they will come out and do the job. I know I can always get an appointment for the time I want. They are very professional and do their job in a timely manner. They do good work and make my home life a lot easier.
