Robots Rock

r2d2

Robots are here to stay, but we don’t have much use for personal robots yet. I would really like to have an R2D2 robot and a C3PO to help me out. There are a lot of things I could have a robot do for me that I would rather not have to handle myself.

I guess the closest thing to a personal robot is the Roomba vacuum cleaner. My sister has one and loves it. It cleans the floors by itself and does great on everything except stairs.

Low Tech Repairs

Computers are great when they work. Not so great when all they do is sit there and blink at you. Mine locked up this morning and I wasted 2 hours tinkering with it. I was THIS CLOSE to grabbing a hammer to “fix it.”

Gardening

Now that Spring is almost here, I’m thinking seriously about planting a little vegetable garden in the side yard. I think that is the only spot around my house that gets enough sun to be able to grow anything. It’s a small patch but maybe big enough to save us a little money on groceries and be a little healthier for us, too. We could plant some tomatoes, green peppers and maybe some pumpkins and summer squash. That would be a good start to test whether I have a green thumb or not.

NABISCO

Chicken in a Biskit by NABISCO is one of my all time favorite crackers, with or without cheese, I always have several boxes in the house so that I have easy access to these baked snack crackers that I have been inhaling since early child hood.

Ritz crackers are always good, but I seem to tire of their taste after a while and much prefer my old time favorite anytime.

Saturday Chores

You know, I used to love Saturdays. I would work all week and go out Friday night and then I could sleep late on Saturday morning. Saturday meant you could run a few errands and putter around the house and then get dressed up and go out Saturday night!

Now the partying days are over and Saturday is full of chores and a “honey do” list. Sunday is just a repeat of chores and errands.

Obviously I need to get out of this rut and find some fun in the weekends again. Weekends are the reason I work all week – they are supposed to be the reward for all that effort and sacrifice.
