Working on my Game

Every family has different ways of spending their summer. One of the things my family typically does is take a vacation, sometimes we go to the mountains and sometimes we go to the desert. This year, we decided to go to the beach. I decided to look for a place to go on the internet and this is what I found. I came across a site called http://www.seasidemb.com.
It described what seemed to be an excellent place for us to go.

Whenever you go somewhere, there are always many places where you can stay. Picking out the best Myrtle Beach Accommodations is not always easy. After reading all the info and weighing the options, I knew the choice was made. We would be able stay together as a family and have fun all the while.

Another attraction that goes with your Myrtle Beach hotel reservations is the number of local golf courses. There are many of them in the area and I always make time for playing some golf. I like the game as it relaxes me and gives me some time in the sun. I am looking forward to working on my game. It will sure be nice to visit the beach this year and I’ll let everyone know how it went!

Interesting

There are lots of ways to spend your summer. One of the best things to do is spend some time with your kids if possible. That’s why I wanted to plan a vacation that the whole family could enjoy. I thought it would be a great way to grow as a family. When I started to investigate the subject online, I found a site called http://avistaresort.com that peaked my interest.

The site contains a whole lot of information about the area surrounding Myrtle Beach and one of the hotels that are there. I kept reading as I was fascinated with the idea of spending a week at the beach. While I knew there were many resorts in Myrtle Beach, I didn’t know that some were top of the line. I was sure that I had found the answer to our problem of where to spend the summer.

Another aspect of the area is its proximity to the many area golf courses. You can even book golf packages online and reserve a tee-time for yourself. I believe we will all have the best time possible now that we know where to go. Now that I have talked it over with my family, I am sure that you will find us at a Myrtle Beach hotel this year.

April Fools’

Today is the day! Everyone knows that April Fools’ Day is here. That means we must all be weary of any tricks that may be played on us. I think it’s one of the funniest holidays we celebrate here in America. I recently heard about a prank that I am going to try this year.

One thing that everyone has in common is a love for free money. I am going to take some quarters and superglue them to the pavement just outside of the door to our office. I know that many of my employees will try to pick them up be left wondering why they cannot do so!! I can’t to see the results!

The Wii

Ever since November 2006, the Nintendo wii has been the best selling gaming unit on the market. Over 70 million units have been sold to date. With top games like Mario and Zelda, it has been a favorite of millions of people. The problem is that it’s sold so many units, its running out of customers. Many have predicted that its reign as top dog will soon end.

Competition from other gaming vendors like Microsoft and Sony has taken a bite out of the Wii market. Personally, I wouldn’t count the Wii out yet as they are planning to add new games this year that are sure to be good sellers. I think the video game world will be playing the Wii for a long time yet.

Olympics

This Friday night will be the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics. The event will be shown on NBC starting at 7:30 Friday night February 12. This years Olympics will be held in Vancouver B.C. and will feature the Cypress Mountain for most of the events.

I welcome this time of year and will be glad to cheer on my fellow Americans as they compete against the best athletes in the world. No matter who wins the gold, I am sure that everyone will put aside petty differences and congratulate the winning athletes.

Happy Holidays!!!

It’s that special time of year again when the whole family gets together. The Thanksgiving Holidays are always a special time for our family as we all enjoy the time we get to spend with each other catching upon the latest news. Another aspect of this particular holiday I like is to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.

I love to wake up and watch the floats go by and the marching bands play. I am always reminded of the many characters that have touched our lives and become a part of the American culture. Well, I got to go eat and so I just wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Three sheets to the wind

It is always interesting to me find out more about our language. Every once in awhile you may hear a word or a phrase and wonder how it came to be. I have heard the expression three sheets to the wind and I finally heard an explanation of its origins. It seems to have been invented on the high seas.

This particular expression of being drunk comes from the fact that the word “sheet” is the term for a rope that controls a square sail on a ship. The sails are uncontrollable if the sheets are loose and the ship will drift until the situation is corrected. Thus came the phrase three sheets to the wind!

The Beatles

The Beatles enjoy the reputation of being one of the most popular bands in the world. They are absolutely one of my favorites and have provided me with many years of enjoyment. That’s why I was excited when I heard about the new release of their songs that have been digitally remastered. There are 12 albums total and all will be released. I hope that you are as ready to rediscover their music as I am!

Hello Lyuba

According to scientists, a baby mammoth fell into a mud hole about 40,000 years ago and suffocated. Protected by the Siberian permafrost, the mammoth (now named Lyuba) was perfectly preserved until she was found by nomadic reindeer herders. Her remains are now being shipped to Chicago to become a part of an exhibition at the Field Museum.

Scientists have been studying her remains looking for answers to questions about the daily life of the mammoth. They are excited about the chance to study her and will do so over the next several years. As for Lyuba, she is scheduled to go on tour in different cities around the world until she arrives at her final destination at the Natural History Museum of London.

If you like country music, this is a new group that is really good and deserves a listen. The two singers are also songwriters and they are also married to each other. That makes for some insightful lyrics. They have a couple fo music videos out if you ever watch the CMT channel. Their names are Joey (the girl) and Rory (the guy).
