Cold Fusion

The only thing I knew about the term “cold fusion” was the use of it in a movie from like 10 years ago with Val Kilmer. It was called, “The Saint” and the cold fusion was something that scientists were trying to create to give the world a free, unlimited energy source. Of course, the bad guys wanted to steal it and the hero saved the day.

In today’s world, cold fusion is a type of programming and it’s becoming very popular. I think it is worth looking into taking a couple of classes and adding that expertise to my resume.

New Year Resolutions

I’ve never been a big fan of New Year’s resolutions. I can’t help feel that they are land mines that doom us to failure rather than inspire us to succeed at something. Most people seem to focus on losing weight or quitting smoking or ending some bad habit. Those are hard to do and just because you make a promise on New Year’s Day to stop doing it does not make the magic solution to your problem.

This year I am going to resolve to be more sociable. I know that will be hard to measure and hard to gauge success or failure at such a noble effort, but I feel like I need to make a bigger effort to build a social network of people who have either common interests with me or who can help me achieve my own goals, like a mentor or someone in my field that can teach me or lead me to higher achievements.

So wish me luck with my resolution and I’ll wish you luck with yours.

TV and Christmas

It has hard put to find anything on the television that isn’t pertaining to the Holiday Season, that is in full swing as I type these holiday words, we just can’t seem to get away from this over abundance of Holiday Spirit. At the Mall and ALL the other stores have been playing holiday music for the past several weeks and have gone the extra mile to decorate in the most elaborate decorating frenzy ever, it just seems that it is everywhere and it can be a bit over whelming when you are as strapped for cash as I seem to be lately.

One more week and it will all be a memory, hopefully a good one for each and all.

WordPress 2.7, oh my

Seems that I just got started on here and there is all ready an update available and I find myself a bit timid about it at this point.

I have decided to go online and find some information about it, I’m sure all kinds of people are talking about this update and then I’ll take it from there. For now I am staying put!

Date Night

Bailey and I decided that we really don’t get out much. We need more R & R, so we have created “Date Night” even though we haven’t “dated” in over 2 years. So, from now on, we’ll be going out on Friday nights to either a movie or bowling or something. We are going to switch off each week as to who gets to choose what we do on the date. That’s the plan.

Saturday Chores

You know, I used to love Saturdays. I would work all week and go out Friday night and then I could sleep late on Saturday morning. Saturday meant you could run a few errands and putter around the house and then get dressed up and go out Saturday night!

Now the partying days are over and Saturday is full of chores and a “honey do” list. Sunday is just a repeat of chores and errands.

Obviously I need to get out of this rut and find some fun in the weekends again. Weekends are the reason I work all week – they are supposed to be the reward for all that effort and sacrifice.
