DMV

I have just bought a new truck. It is a 1985 ford ranger that I hope to fix up and use for various tasks. Anyway, I had to take that dreaded trip to the DMV in order to get the title straight and new tags. It was a long wait and I was missing work for every hour spent in a hard chair, not getting paid.

After I got my number, I patiently waited for it to be called. After waiting for quite a spell, my turn finally came. Guess what happened next. That’s right, I had to wait some more!! I lost 5 hours of work and no way to make it up.

I am always glad to get out of that place!

appendix

Written by my friend Otis Buckley

My back was killing me the other day at work. I was just in the middle of speaking with HOme SecuritY Family on the phone when I was literally crippled with pain. I quickly told the representative that I was going to have to call her back. I took some Advil and tried to get back to work. Thirty minutes later my back and abdomen were hurting again. The pain got so bad that I had to leave work. By the time I left, I could barely drive. A co-worker convinced me that I need to go to the emergency room and gave me a ride. She called my husband and he met me up there. Much to my surprise, I was told that I was going to have to have surgery. I had an appendicitis. It didn’t occur to me that my back ache that had turned into stomach ache was so serious. I am so glad that my co-worker convinced me to go to the emergency room. My doctor told me that I made it just in time.

Scary days and nights

The moon is full in the sky at this time of year. It’s really huge and can be menacing when the clouds are just right. It sets the tone for Halloween and that’s fine with me. I always enjoy trying to give the kids a little scare before they get their treats. It’s a tradition that my father started.

When I was little we always decked out the yard with all manner of scary things. I have taken over this tradition and added to our collection of stuff. My yard will be the envy of all others on the block. I am waiting for that wonderful night!

What I am wearing

One thing that I am pretty fussy about is the clothes that I wear. I like what I like and will not wear anything else. Anyone who tries to buy me clothes for a birthday or Christmas knows that there is a good chance I will not wear them. That’s just the way it is. That’s why I was surprised when I opened a present from my wife that had clothes in it. I knew this would be interesting.

It turns out that I actually liked these clothes. There were two pairs of mens lab coats that looked really cool. I could tell they were of high quality and would be comfortable to wear. I was surprised that they fit so well as she usually gets me they wrong size. I asked her where she had gotten the clothes and she led me to the computer and showed me a site called http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Men/. It truly was a Christmas miracle.

I have decided to make a rare exception and keep the clothes I was given. I think I would still prefer to purchase my own clothes but I guess that I could use a little help now and then. I’ll just have to see what the future brings on this sensitive subject.

Hire someone

Recently, the new jobs report came out. The Labor Department reported that nearly 103,000 new jobs were added in the country for the month of September. While this number is not that bad, it was not really what economists were hoping for. They always want more.

Fears of another recession still linger for many investors. The stock market is still skittish. The president is still pushing his idea for a jobs bill that would hopefully create more jobs. In the meantime, I hope those who can will hire someone and help the economy along.
