BitDefender Deadlock

There is some bad news for people who use the BitDefender anti-virus software who happen to also have 64-bit Windows. A recent update caused major disruptions for these users when BitDefender quarantined several Windows files as infected. Users have complained that they can no longer boot up their machines or use any files.

BitDefender has announced that they have a fix for the problem and are working to help customers fix the damage caused. They also advise that users can use Last Known Good Configuration or System Restore top return their computer to normalcy. They also advise customers to disable BitDefender until a final update that will fix the problem for good.

Tigers in China

Siberian tigers are very rare. With only an estimated 300 left in the wild, they are endangered. The good news is that there are many tigers held in farms or zoos. The bad news is even those animals are in danger. Such is the case when 11 tigers recently died in a Chinese wildlife park.

Some people feel that these tigers were deliberately starved and maltreated. The tiger carcasses are worth a great deal of money if sold to dealers for their parts. Some farms may be raising the tigers in hopes of making a profit. I hope the Chinese government will crackdown on those who abuse animals for money!

The Wii

Ever since November 2006, the Nintendo wii has been the best selling gaming unit on the market. Over 70 million units have been sold to date. With top games like Mario and Zelda, it has been a favorite of millions of people. The problem is that it’s sold so many units, its running out of customers. Many have predicted that its reign as top dog will soon end.

Competition from other gaming vendors like Microsoft and Sony has taken a bite out of the Wii market. Personally, I wouldn’t count the Wii out yet as they are planning to add new games this year that are sure to be good sellers. I think the video game world will be playing the Wii for a long time yet.
