Aging Heart Issues

A co-worker of mine is dealing with an elderly mother-in-law that is having some major heart issues, and of course while working in such small quarters that we are forced into sharing with numerous other people (cubicles) we all get to know each other very well and share all kinds of information with each other 9-5, Monday through Friday.

This has made it possible to learn so very much medical information, it seems that everyone is married, has children and dealing with aging parents or in-laws, and so on. On an average day at least 3 or 4 conversations are held in my cubicle alone about some type of doctors appointment that is coming up or have just been attended, and all of the information is shared about them all which the details of will be dissected and digested by everyone. I’m not complaining mind you – it has given me valuable information that has proven to be useful and interesting.

The Doctor Says

Am glad that I went ahead and placed my order now for the most important person that I am going to be spending my Christmas with. He knows who he is. He is one of my biggest fans off and online. I owe him more than he will ever realize and I appreciate everything that he has ever done for me throughout all of the madness that life brings to a person and their family.

What’s Up With A Console Cable?

Hubby tells me that we need to order a console cable but he seems to enjoy keeping in the dark as to why we need it (could he be up to something, hmm, something to think about)

He asked me to go online, he gave me the website diablocable dot com to go to and has asked me to just order him one up. This is not an unusual request seeing as I am the only one with a charge/debit card which is needed to make purchases online, and he has no patience when it comes to ordering items on line, but he always lets me know the who, what and where of it all when I do it for him.

Only thing that I can come up with is maybe he is working up something special for my birthday, that is coming up very soon, next month if I remember correctly. I guess time will tell and for now I’ll play his little game.

Holiday Getaways

This is the first year that we didn’t manage to get a way for a week or at least a long weekend before school started. Between all the non-stop drama that seems to be never ending around here and the lack of any extra money in the budget we have pretty much stuck here in town and at the house.

But there is hope that we might be able to squeeze out enough money and time to do a winter getaway. There is always a first time for everything they say. I have been check out some of the groupon getaways that I was told about and I feel myself getting excited about actually being away for either Thanksgiving or Christmas. At first I found myself getting all sentimental about not being with all our other friends and family members during these crazy and hectic holidays, but after giving it more thought I really think that it would be a good thing to try for once.

It is always such a pain trying to prepare for the usual holiday festivities that take so much time, energy, money and emotion. Trying to please everyone, even knowing darn well that is impossible, but I seem to keep on trying year after year after year. And to be honest I really get tired of eating so much turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy at each and every family members house that we are compelled to visit each Thanksgiving and then a month later do it all over again for Christmas.

I’ll get you posted on what I come up with and when.

Choreographed Wedding Dance Lessons

I’m so glad that Sharon is being pro active in organizing the wedding dance lessons santa monica as she was advised to do. It can take up to six months to get all the people and the dance all choreographed, even more if the people involved lived farther out than some of the others. I’m lucky that it is only a short trip for me to get to the dance studio. I usually get there early so that I can stretch out and limber up. If I didn’t I don’t think I would be able to be much good on the dance floor. The older I get the harder it is to stay in shape. Dancing is a wonderful way to exercise. I miss going out and dancing on the weekends like we did back in the day.

Hubby isn’t half bad on the dance floor, as long as he has a couple of beers under his belt. Before the kids came along we went out dancing at least 2 or 3 times a month. So being invited to participate in this choreographed wedding dance is right up my alley. I can only hope I do it justice!

They need air flow

While I was out and about I decided to stop by the insurance company where I used to work, years ago. My old boss is still there and he gave me a tour of their new offices. They’ve added another floor in the same building to their office space and made a whole new data center since I worked there. So they are like twice as big as they were.

They even have a clean room for all the computer servers. But with all that equipment running 24/7, one of the things they desperately need is electronic system simulation from Flovent, that will create the perfect air flow in their new office. I learned about air flow from my brother, the computer expert, when he showed me the data center he built for one of his clients near my sister’s house. So I guess I know enough about it to be a little dangerous!
He had said such wonderful things about Flovent, that I will definitely be calling him to get in touch with my old boss and help them put in an application for Flovent’s great services. He might even do some more work for them as a consultant.

Termite Control

A cousin of mine is living down south in Alabama with her new boyfriend and was telling me about a problem they had when she first moved down there with serious damage from termites at the house he’d inherited from some aunt. She said that they had to get some exterminating company to look it over and he said they needed formosan termite treatment. It didn’t take long or cost them an arm and a leg, which can be a concern. She says they are now termite free and very happy!

New Sewing Experience

I had expressed an interest in sewing to my husband and had told him I wanted to get a sewing machine so I could learn some techniques in creating some beautiful home piece’s such as pillows, blankets, throws, curtains or even clothes I became a pro at it. So my wonderful hubby had brought home a sewing machine from Walmart and man I was so excited to get the actual opportunity to sew. I got straight into the car and went fabric shopping so I could come home and experiment with them, and I had found that it wasn’t as easy as I had thought it would be and being the perfectionist I seem to be I wanted all my work to be precise.

I went to an Arts & Crafts store nearby to purchase a book called “Sewing for Dummies.” Of course the first piece I tried to work on was the easiest, a simple bed pillow and it came out surprisingly nice. I kept on with sewing the simplest things until I felt I was ready for something a little more challenging. I had found a page where it teaches you how to make something called a quillow, it seemed to be trickier then anything I did before, but I gave it a shot. It took me quit a few times to put one together decently. I do believe I have found my new hobby that I enjoy so very much, and I’m hoping that if I become good enough with it, then I could start selling them for extra cash or even give them away for birthdays and Christmas’s to other family members. I am so excited to learn so many more new things and get to gain knowledge on this sewing machine.

We Need an Auto Loan

Mom’s taxi service is about worn out. I really need to get a car for my oldest so she can start running some of these errands. She’s had her driver’s license for 2 years now and has done so well, I have every confidence that if she has her own car she will be a careful and responsible driver.

A friend of the family has a car lot in Northern Virginia. I don’t usually drive all the way up there, but i called him today and asked if he had any bargains on the lot. He said that he was sure he could find a good car for her, but he wasn’t sure he could help her with a car loan.

I’m not all that concerned about the financing from the dealer. I know of a website that has information on car loans and they help people nationwide. You can apply online for an Auto Loan and find out online if you’ve been approved. They even have auto loans for people with bad credit. Our credit is not bad, but I would like to find a way to get my daughter involved with the loan and start building her own credit. I’ll send them an email and ask for help from their representative in the morning. Then we can drive up to Falls Church and see what kind of car we can buy.

AKG K2440 Headphones

This year when my birthday rolls around I have an idea of what say to the people that ask me what I want as a birthday gift. Most years I tell them that I don’t really want or need anything and I usually get some type of bubble bath, body lotion, perfumed soaps and other personal care products that look pretty sitting on the shelves, unfortunately that is where they stay, gathering dust from just sitting around not being used.

This year I would like them to buy AKG K240 that I have been eyeballing for months. It’s a great deal at $99.95, with no shipping and handling charges to deal with. It is a bit more than the usual birthday gifts have been running, but it is something that I really want and would really enjoy and appreciate, now if only I can get others to get on board and agree with me.
