How To Buy A Guitar

There are so many types of guitars out there these days, thank goodness for the Internet to help guide people on how to buy a guitar. Now that all of the Christmas hub bub is over and done with, I think I will start considering getting a guitar. Of course I am going to have to find a place that gives guitar lessons in town. I don’t think I have the patience to learn how to play one on my own.

There are a couple of places that I have in mind to check out, but first I have to find the perfect Gibson Electric Guitar, which just might be an autograph model that I found on Musician’s Friends website. It has to be a Gibson or else my grandfather would turn over in his grave. He was a hard core Paul Gibson guitar player and wouldn’t consider any other type of guitar for him or anyone else that he could influence with his obsession.

I really like the look of this Royal Crimson Gibson. I’m getting so excited but am having a hard time making a decision, as usual. It’s the Libra in me that makes it hard to decide on just about anything. And for this amount of money I really need to make a good educated choice.

Living in New York City

It seems that if I could pick a city to live in, I would have to pick New York, N.Y., that is only if I didn’t have any children to deal with, unless I was rich and could afford a nanny full-time, now that would be cool.

My friend Nancy, whom I’ve known since Middle School is relocating due to her husband’s (Mike) new job is requiring them to live right in New York City, I am so envious us them.  They have been together for over 10 years, we call them Ken and Barbie because they resemble the doll characters so much.  Both are devoted Catholics and are waiting until they are in their 30’s to start a family, so they can have fun now and save up the money needed to raise their kids the right way, and of course they will be sent to a private Catholic schools in the best neighborhood known around.

So she sends me an email the other week, the subject line being “North Fork real estate properties”, I’m thinking what the heck is this about, getting ready to delete it thinking of course that it was spam, until I noticed who it was from.  Mike’s new firm recommended Prudential’s Douglas Elliman, New York’s largest real estate firm and Nancy was sending me the link to the web-site for me to check out.  Wow, what beautiful scenery and lovely properties to be found in the Big Apple.  Good thing the drive is only about a 5 hour one to get there because they are going to be taking that drive a few times, but being able to do so much right on their PC will be such a time saver and will make it less stressful at a time when stress is at it’s highest – moving time, ugh.

I Hate Homework

It seems our son needs help tonight with his Spanish homework, ugh . . .  I took Spanish for a few years and can muddle my way through the basics, but my goodness I feel pretty useless when is comes to homework about it.

Another subject that gives me the willies is MATH, is it a four letter word as far as I’m concerned, anything past 3rd grade math and I get feverish and feel faint.  Isn’t that a sad state of affairs……….

While helping him maybe I can come up with and idea for dinner!

Choreographed Wedding Dance Lessons

I’m so glad that Sharon is being pro active in organizing the wedding dance lessons santa monica as she was advised to do. It can take up to six months to get all the people and the dance all choreographed, even more if the people involved lived farther out than some of the others. I’m lucky that it is only a short trip for me to get to the dance studio. I usually get there early so that I can stretch out and limber up. If I didn’t I don’t think I would be able to be much good on the dance floor. The older I get the harder it is to stay in shape. Dancing is a wonderful way to exercise. I miss going out and dancing on the weekends like we did back in the day.

Hubby isn’t half bad on the dance floor, as long as he has a couple of beers under his belt. Before the kids came along we went out dancing at least 2 or 3 times a month. So being invited to participate in this choreographed wedding dance is right up my alley. I can only hope I do it justice!

Not Just Pimples

With two teenagers in the house, we have had our share of drama when the dreaded pimples appear. It always seems to be at the critical times, like right before a school dance or an important first date with that oh so cool guy.

I admit, Acne is not a life or death situation, but to a teenager, a breakout of acne can ruin their social life and after all, that’s what the teen years are all about.

Plans for Spring Break

Ever since mom and dad retired and moved to Florida, they have been inviting us to come visit. Since we are expecting snow this week, the thought of balmy Florida breezes and letting the kids run loose at Disney or Universal is sounding pretty good to me right now.

The hard part of traveling with a teenager is that she always makes plans to do things with “her friends” and she has little interest in spending precious time away from school with her family. I wonder if there is enough in Orlando to tempt her? I can’t leave her behind, but I don’t want a pouty and bitter teenager there against her will, either. She could spoil the trip for everyone with one of her “moods.”

What to do? What to do?

The Prom

The charlotte dj that has been hired for this year’s high school senior prom has come highly recommended by several people that have used them before. Having the right dj can make or break a party and the prom is a huge ordeal. Hundreds of kids are looking forward to their prom, spending an outrageous amount on the whole event, so the dj just has to be great.

I did not graduate from high school, so I didn’t get to go to my prom. I didn’t think it was a big deal back then, but now I really regret not sticking it out longer at school (although I did go back and get my GED) and graduating with my classmates and going to the prom. That is why I am so involved with making each year’s prom a great one for the kids at the local high school. It will be a couple more years before my kids will be going to the prom. I can only pray that they will graduate and have the opportunity to do all the cool things that seniors get to do, including the prom!

The Junior Prom This Year

It will be nice to see my daughter and her current boyfriend all dressed up for the Junior Prom, at the end of the year. We have already been looking at dresses, shoes, handbags and all of the other accessories that it takes to dress up all formal like. He has been looking at various tuxedo vests to match the color of the dress, when my daughter finally makes a decision on her dress, which better be soon. He has a lot to do himself for this big event.

This will be fun. I never got to go to any of the formal dances back in my high school years, so this is all so new and exciting for me. Never thought that I would be one of those mothers that gets all crazy during these memory making moments. And to think this is only the Junior Prom. I can’t imagine what all is involved with next year’s Senior Prom although I’m sure there will be a limo some how involved.

My Little Boy Is a Prince

My little boy is a prince this year for Halloween and looks so cute that I almost cried when I first saw him all dressed up in his costume. Of course I had to take a dozen pictures of him in various poses, with the typical little boy wild and wacky faces that they seem to think will look cute!  LOL!

What a great time of year this is for children with so many upcoming holidays and events, from Halloween to Christmas, to visiting family and friends and being out of school. As much as I my kids drive me crazy at times, I really do enjoy having them home on the days that the school system allows them to be home. And the summer time is my favorite time of the year for so many reasons, but seriously right on top of that list is that my kids are out of school and at home or at relatives where I can look after them and enjoy them. You are only a kid once and I want to take advantage of all that they have got while they have it.

Looking forward to walking around the neighborhood this evening with my little prince collecting candy, so I’d better get going.

Happy Halloween to everyone!

Alfred Guitar Tablature Online

We were so tickled to find that they have found a teacher to teach the guitar at my kid’s junior high school. There has been such a demand from students the past couple of years to teach the guitar that their persistence finally paid off and there is no a lot of anxious kids ready to learn. I found a good Alfred Guitar Tablature at musician’s friend online along with various other musical sites that the Internet can now bring to any kid who has Internet access anything that they can dream of in an unlimited variety of options.

I wish that I had taken some type of lessons back when I was a kid. I would love to be able to have what it takes to make music. It’s such a great talent that I admire in anyone that plays any type of instrument.
