Mom Wants And Needs A New PC

One of my brothers is the computer whiz in our family, but since he has recently gotten himself married he isn’t as available as much as he used to be.  I have depended on him for 90% of my computer needs and Hubby for the other 10%.  I  mean I can switch ink cartridges and add paper, but that is about my limit, sad but true.

The time has now come that I need to be more independent when it comes to the computer, I spend so much time on one, it makes sense to learn more about it.  So the next computer that I get I am going to dive in and learn.  In fact I have found a web-site that specializes in PC that you can build yourself, the instructions are in English and offers plenty of illustrations to help, pictures are good!

I found an easy site to navigate thru and I’m thinking that maybe I will order one of their PC Kits that comes with everything needed to build your own PC with, except a screwdriver, I have plenty of those, just need to find the right one when it’s needed.

I’m getting excited about a new coming into the house, I wonder if I should call my brother and ask his opinion on the idea of me trying this out.  Boy I just can’t seem to do anything computer related with out bothering him with something, maybe he will be happy to see my trying and will feel sympathetic and will come assist me, just in case, Hubby can be really grumpy when I ask for his help.  He is so grumpy even the kids won’t ask for his assistance with their homework.

Something Cool

Something is getting popular now a days with all kinds of folks are having business cards printed up so that you can distribute them to who ever you choose to give them to. And with an offer such as “Free Business Cards” you can bet that my oldest daughter is ready to order.

She found a website called unlimitedbusinesscards.com and they advertise unlimited supply of free business cards AND free shipping.  You have to register to get access to the site which takes a few minutes but so many sites require this that you can practically do it in your sleep!

It seems that they can afford to offer these free because advertisers pay them to have their ads on the back of the free business cards, what a cool idea. They are what I call “Killing 2 birds with one stone”. It is an interesting proposition that they offer: After you fill out the form, your business card will become a product that our advertisers can choose to advertise on. Once we get 3 advertisers to advertise on your business card we will email you a link that you can use to upload your artwork or design your business card online choosing from over 13,000 templates. And they want you to agree to distribute all of your cards in a years time – interesting.

I actually registered and put in an order for some cards for Hubby to use and we will see how it goes from there, after we check them out I will allow our daughter to order some, free is a good amount to pay – I’m sure you would agree.

The Missing Cutting Torch

Today started normal enough, at least until hubby went out to the garage to retrieve his cutting torch to lend to a neighbor, and it was no where to be found. I don’t know exactly why he would think that anyone here at the house would go out and take it or move it, but his voice is getting louder and louder, clearly showing his frustration at not being able to find this cutting torch. I wouldn’t know what to do with a cutting torch and I sure didn’t lend it to anyone, nor did I sell it to anyone.

When hubby is in a bad mood it really effects the whole family. Everyone walks around on egg shells and the air is so think that you really could cut it with a knife. All we can do is stay out of the way and pray that he finds the darned thing so that we could move on to bigger and hopefully better things to do around here. And the neighbor will just have to wait or find someone else that has one to borrow. Lord knows that we can’t afford to run out and buy a new one. Christmas bout did our wallets in this year!

Hubby Cleans Up Real Nice!

Even though Hubby is a “Blue collar worker” and his wardrobe consists mainly of tee shirts and jeans with a few Khakis and sweatshirts thrown in, he does have a few nice clothes but I have decided that it is now time for it to have an much needed upgrade, cause Hubby does clean up real nice!

I want to purchase by going online from a website – upscalemenswear.com that has gotten my attention, it’s by a company by the name of Upscale Menswear that is located in  Atlanta, Georgia, but thankfully they have made it possible to buy from them the most unique, colors and styles from brand names like Steve Harvey, Romano Fiesso and Robert Wayne, some wonderful hi-fashion suits and designer shoes  like the ones that are always seen and worn in Hollywood and New york, but are offered at realistic prices, without having to take the long drive by use of the good old Internet! I think that I will enjoy this.

The Task Of Ordering Machine Handles Online

The days of running all over town, and sometimes needing to go to neighboring towns, to find items that are so easy to order Online such as the machine handles that Hubby is needing. It is worth waiting a few days for the items to arrive at our door and ready to go.  It took all of 7 minutes to find the perfect handles and they should be here in time for him to get what he needs to do with them.

Now I can move on to other tasks that need to be tackled. My “To Do List” is never ending and always changing. And to  think that the Christmas season is looming straight ahead at us. Actually I just looked up how long before Christmas comes and it tells me it is 77 more sleeps, which equals ten weeks. OMG, makes my head hurt just thinking about it.

Hubby love his knives, all kinds of knives, between he and his Dad they must have over a thousand of them, must be a “guy thing.” I must admit that some of them are pretty spectacular and I have learned quiet a lot about them since being exposed to them as much as I am.

Before Hubby about the only knife that I had heard of and knew anything about was the Ka-Bar, my brothers were always talking about their Ka-Bar knives when we were kids.

Since Christmas is coming sooner rather than later I thought that I could find a nice knife or two to give to Hubby and plus my Dad, of course, for their gifts this year. Pool Heaters, A Great Idea

Last fall my hubby knew my birthday was coming up and he wanted to do something extreme that I have been wanting for the last 15 years we have been together. His plan was to make that it happen by installing an in-ground pool in our backyard with a hot tub. I unfortunately had a business trip I had to go to right before my birthday, but it ended up working out perfectly for my hubby’s surprise plans.

When I had left after taking our daughter to her grandparents house, he jumped on the opportunity to install an in-ground pool while I was on a business trip for 2 weeks. When I had arrived home, hubby wouldn’t let me even come close to the backside of the house so I couldn’t see what was back there. The next morning after we picked our daughter up he escorted us to the backyard with his hands covering my eyes and counted to three, when his hands dropped I couldn’t have been more surprised, impressed and so excited at the same time.

I have been so excited to finally go out to the back yard and take a dip in our own in-ground pool since last fall when my hubby installed it. We have been getting it ready for this upcoming summer and we just finished cleaning it last week and are now starting to talk about the possibility of a hot tub as well, but came to the conclusion that we simply couldn’t afford it.

Hubby had a clever idea for us to search on the net for pool heaters and we took an a beautiful spring evening to search for one for or pool. We came across a site that offers raypak pool heaters at an awesome price and it didn’t take log at all for us to find the perfect one for our pool. When it arrived, only 3 days later, hubby and a few of our friends had gathered in the backyard to install our new pool heater, and we now can enjoy our pool even on chilly days and/or evenings with no worries. Life is good.

Heating For Our Outdoor Patio

Hubby has been working real hard the past few years in order for us to have a quality outdoor patio.  We really do enjoy being outside as much as possible in the warm weather months.  Our garden keeps getting bigger and bigger each year which requires a lot of work, so it is nice to be able to kick back when the sun starts going down.  Sometimes it does get a bit chilly so I have been contemplating on purchasing an outdoor patio heater, but I want one that looks nice along with our other things that Hubby has put together.

I have been seeing a few Bistro Table Patio Heaters that I think would suit us just fine, seems they run on either propane or LP, and I love the ones with the hammered bronze effect.  The idea of being able to use the table top is an awesome feature.  Guess I’ll have to run it all by Hubby before ordering it, just in case…….. hey he has been talking about checking out some gas garage heaters also.

An Ideal Birthday Idea For Hubby

Hubby has a birthday coming up in a few weeks and I was thinking of how is back is always giving him such trouble.  I seem to spend a good amount of time rubbing his back for him and I have to admit that it would be a relief not to spend so munch of my time on his aches and pains so that I can deal with my own issues, mainly menopause, ugh..

I’ve been told by several people of a company that sells the Human Touch Quality Massage Chairs, these chairs are said to replicate the proven techniques used by professional massage therapists and chiropractors and are great in providing back pain relief which Hubby desperately wants and needs on a daily and nightly basis.

This company uses the most advanced robotic massage technology and systems in their massage chairs and I like the fact that it is a whole chair, not just a pad that you put on top of your chair or couch to simulate the hands and techniques of full body massage like the expert massage professionals.

 Massage Chairs really looks like something Hubby would really enjoy and use, and maybe even share with me at times.

No Lobster For Me Tonight, Bummer

Hubby had to work later than he expected and came home tired and a bit under the weather, looks like I will have to wait another week for my much anticipated lobster dinner.  I hope he isn’t coming down with something and if so I hope it isn’t contagious, I don’t think this house/family can stand another bout of illness just yet.  We all get our flu shots each and every year, so we haven’t come down with the flu since getting these wonderful and affordable flu shots, but we have had our share of other nasty junk to nurse.

I was looking through my downstairs deep freezer and found a turkey from last year’s holiday season that never get cooked.  I’m letting it thaw out and I think we will have a nice turkey dinner on Sunday with all the trimmings, just like Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. It looks like it will be very cold on Sunday, so we will have the fireplace going and everything!  I love the way it makes the house smell so good.
