The Missing Cutting Torch

Today started normal enough, at least until hubby went out to the garage to retrieve his cutting torch to lend to a neighbor, and it was no where to be found. I don’t know exactly why he would think that anyone here at the house would go out and take it or move it, but his voice is getting louder and louder, clearly showing his frustration at not being able to find this cutting torch. I wouldn’t know what to do with a cutting torch and I sure didn’t lend it to anyone, nor did I sell it to anyone.

When hubby is in a bad mood it really effects the whole family. Everyone walks around on egg shells and the air is so think that you really could cut it with a knife. All we can do is stay out of the way and pray that he finds the darned thing so that we could move on to bigger and hopefully better things to do around here. And the neighbor will just have to wait or find someone else that has one to borrow. Lord knows that we can’t afford to run out and buy a new one. Christmas bout did our wallets in this year!

Singing The Flat Tire Blues

Our oldest daughter still doesn’t have her own car, so I end up allowing her to use my vehicle to do her running around in.  Most of it is to run errands, she doesn’t use it to joy ride around in, for the most part.  She is a good driver, when ever we go somewhere together in my car I have her to the driving, and I tell you that she is a good driver and I am with her a lot.

The one thing that she needs help with is knowing and taking the shortest way there, and that drives me crazy because I go the way that is the shortest and quickest because I am always in such high demand and in a hurry trying to get everything done for everyone, I mean, I’m a working mom on a mission.

A friend of hers called last night (he just got back from serving in the military, somewhere in Japan) and he really needed a ride home from an ASAP meeting so I allowed her to borrow the car so that she could do that.

This morning I wake up to hear Hubby asking me if I knew that my car had the spare doughnut tire on it, ugh – what a way to start the morning!

It appears that after dropping her friend off she was on her way home and there was a large rock in the road and she run over it. So called the friend and he and his Dad came and put the doughnut on it for her and then she came home. It was late and she didn’t wake us up to tell us about the flat tire.

Well she is now out running around getting a new tire and having it in put on my car so here I sit with no vehicle to do my errands in. Oh well, there is always tomorrow. But first I have to make it through this day. We have Parent/Teacher conference this evening at the youngests school and then I go directly to work and get off at 9:15 tonight. Wish me luck!

Whose room is this?

I came into my youngest daughter’s room to use the PC for a short before bedtime and I thought for a moment that I had walked into the wrong room.

She has gotten into a cleaning frenzy, she hasn’t done that in what seems to be a very long time, and has really done a good job in not just straightening but some actual hard core cleaning.

When she was younger she was such a neat freak, everything has it’s place and she made sure that it was put there and then all of a sudden on day she did a complete turn around and has had a messy room from that day on.

Now if only I could get the oldest daughter to clean her room upstairs………

An Email Hint From My Mother

My mother has been trying to talk Hubby and I into starting our own business for a few years now. She insists that we will get nowhere if we are working our butts off to line someone else’s pocket in the interim.

She sent me an email with some pretty interesting franchise information from a website called www.redhotfranchises.com, I must say they have a huge selection of business opportunities listed for review. Every kind of franchise you could imagine.

I did look it over and there are many that I find appealing but honestly I don’t think Hubby and I have the energy needed to start up something at this time. We still have our hand’s full with the kids and all of their needs seem to take up the majority of our time right now. But who is to say what the future has in mind for us, maybe one day we will take mom’s advice, but not this day. Right now my main concern is getting through the holidays and the start of a brand new year.

My Brother and His Brood

My eldest brother who lives in the beautiful up state New York along with his second wife and their large brood of children, 5 all together, you know the typical, his, mine and ours kind of family. Hard times seem to be hitting all kinds of people all over, I had the impression that things were going fairly well with them until my mother filled me in otherwise.

He had sent her an email letting her and Dad know that they were going to file bankruptcy and have hired a well known New York bankruptcy lawyer services firm that came highly recommended by his manager at the company where he and his wife both work.

I hope big brother and his family will get through this all right, I worry about him sometimes, but that is what sisters do, at least ours do.

The Task Of Ordering Machine Handles Online

The days of running all over town, and sometimes needing to go to neighboring towns, to find items that are so easy to order Online such as the machine handles that Hubby is needing. It is worth waiting a few days for the items to arrive at our door and ready to go.  It took all of 7 minutes to find the perfect handles and they should be here in time for him to get what he needs to do with them.

Now I can move on to other tasks that need to be tackled. My “To Do List” is never ending and always changing. And to  think that the Christmas season is looming straight ahead at us. Actually I just looked up how long before Christmas comes and it tells me it is 77 more sleeps, which equals ten weeks. OMG, makes my head hurt just thinking about it.

Memory Foam Pet Beds

It is never easy to see your pet(s) aging. There are so many health issues that come along with owning any type of pet throughout their whole life span, but when they get so old that you can see how they are suffering, it is a real bummer. Our 9 year old Pug is starting to show signs of aging and the pain that goes along with that. Bum Deal With JCPenney Order

It really burnt me up, I had been looking at these lofts for several months now, my daughter has sat with me many a nights looking at all of her options, bunk beds, day beds, trundle beds, lofts, and when we found a loft bed that offered a full size mattress size, so that when a friend sleeps over there will be room for the two of them, as of now they either squeeze together in her twin bed or one sleeps on the hard floor. They really don’t mind, kids can sleep just about anywhere but it will be so much more comfortable and roomy for her in many ways, that we fell in love with the one from J.C. Penney’s.

Since I have a credit card with that store I receive emails with promotions and when I received one offering free shipping on orders over $250 I then made my decision to order the loft then and now. After filling out all of the information of the order and going through the whole process, and the end they tell you that this purchase doesn’t qualify for the free shipping promotion, I was flabbergasted, but was tired and said what the hell and placed the order anyone and I will just have to suck up the loss.

Researching Homeowners Insurance Rates

The money that we shell out every month for our current homeowners insurance rates is really getting out of hand. This next up and coming weekend I plan on researching online other insurance company rates and see what I can come up with that will help reduce the amount of money that goes out each and every month. With the thought in mind that Christmas is really right around the corner I am getting anxious about how we are going to manage purchasing all of the gifts that we are obligated to hand out each holiday season.

I’ve been trying to cut back in any way that I can and the Internet is a great tool to help me with the overwhelming tasks required to make our budget a bit easier to tackle.
