Art Galleries Right On The Internet!

Hubby is totally a typical “blue collar worker” in the fact that has no interest what so ever in the Arts, but I have always loved going to Art Museums and Galleries when given the opportunity. I have my parents to thank for that, we used to go a lot when I was a kid and learned to appreciate good works of art.

I was so happy to run across the website of cruiseartgallery.com which advertises it is the “Home to the largest collection of fine art in the world.” And that “Park West Gallery conducts fine art auctions throughout the United States and Canada.”

I know that I will not have an opportunity, any time soon, to visit this wonderful Gallery, so I’m so very happy that the web-site gives you the opportunity to view a large selection of artwork by several talented artists such as Peter Nixon, Maracus Glenn, Andrew Bone and Charles Lee, in which I am just naming a few. I don’t think my parents would have ever dreamed that one day you could own your own home computer and with a few key strokes have the chance to see such a wonderful thing right there in your own home, I know I wouldn’t have believed it back then either.

Look of The Year, Interesting Online Beauty Contest!

My oldest daughter has always been interested in modeling, she is a looker, all blond hair, green eyed, large busted and all. When she was real young, three and four years of age, I had her in several beauty pageants and she always either placed or would win 1st prize, that all seems so long ago now.

Through out the years she has been told numerous times by people that she should check into modeling and it always makes her feel good, but she just never has proceeded with it. But last night she found a website of a company called Look of The Year, which advertises a unique online beauty for anybody, not just a chosen few! Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and anyone who surfs their site, world wide, has the opportunity to be a judge, and cast a vote for the one that they believe is the most beautiful.

Sounds interesting and I can see where she would get a charge out of participating in something like this, she is going to register and search for the perfect picture to submit. I’ll keep you posted in what takes place.

Bum Deal With JCPenney Order

It really burnt me up, I had been looking at these lofts for several months now, my daughter has sat with me many a nights looking at all of her options, bunk beds, day beds, trundle beds, lofts, and when we found a loft bed that offered a full size mattress size, so that when a friend sleeps over there will be room for the two of them, as of now they either squeeze together in her twin bed or one sleeps on the hard floor. They really don’t mind, kids can sleep just about anywhere but it will be so much more comfortable and roomy for her in many ways, that we fell in love with the one from J.C. Penney’s.

Since I have a credit card with that store I receive emails with promotions and when I received one offering free shipping on orders over $250 I then made my decision to order the loft then and now. After filling out all of the information of the order and going through the whole process, and the end they tell you that this purchase doesn’t qualify for the free shipping promotion, I was flabbergasted, but was tired and said what the hell and placed the order anyone and I will just have to suck up the loss.

Researching Homeowners Insurance Rates

The money that we shell out every month for our current homeowners insurance rates is really getting out of hand. This next up and coming weekend I plan on researching online other insurance company rates and see what I can come up with that will help reduce the amount of money that goes out each and every month. With the thought in mind that Christmas is really right around the corner I am getting anxious about how we are going to manage purchasing all of the gifts that we are obligated to hand out each holiday season.

I’ve been trying to cut back in any way that I can and the Internet is a great tool to help me with the overwhelming tasks required to make our budget a bit easier to tackle.

House Cleaning Services

Something that would make a good gift for anyone who is left responsible for the cleaning and the upkeep in their residence, would be to have a professional house cleaning service come in to have a good cleaning. It could be a once time luxury or for any length of time that the gift giver decides upon and how much money they want to invest.

I mean let’s face it, at some point in your life there are gift giving occasions that something like this would be appropriate and appreciated. Although I have a feeling that if I were to do something like this that the person would think that I thought that she wasn’t a good house keeper!

I myself wouldn’t have a problem with the other woman house cleaning services. In fact I would welcome it. It sure is better than getting more body lotions and oils that seem to find their way to me a lot. I have more lotions and potions that I would or could ever use in one lifetime. Those gifts end up being re-gifted to some other sucker, more often than not!

Petting Zoo Adventure

I managed to corral the whole family into going to a wonderful Animal Park that is so much more than just a Petting Zoo, yesterday afternoon. The weather was perfect, the cost was minimal, was a nice long healty walk and a good time was had by all. It is located only 15 minutes down the road and I had been there 6 years ago or so and have been trying for all these years to get the family to go and enjoy all the interesting and entertaining animals that this place has to offer for the public to come and see.

We even purchased some of the feed that they sell by the bag, to feed to some of the animals that were allowed to be feed, many are on restricted diets and are discouraged from feeding them any type of food items at all. The sheep, goats, many varieties of deers, and the llama’s all feed greedily from our hands and it didn’t take long for the bags to become empty. Other animals that we enjoyed seeing were the several types of monkeys, bears, buffalo, a lion and his lioness, camels, exotic birds, a black panther and many more that I can’t even remember them all. I did however bring me camera and hopefully some of the many pictures will come out that we can put in our scrapbooks to remember the nice time we all had with the animals and nature.

Younger Brother

I come from a fairly large family with brothers and sisters that do all kinds of things and have lived in all kinds of places.  As a kid I did not enjoy having so many siblings, I was not a very happy child, lonely as can be, even with all those other kids around.

Now that I am older I am grateful for each and every one of them. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without them all.  Each one has assisted me in one disaster or another in some way or another. And I in turn will do anything that I can for them when they are in need.

Hubby comes from a large family also, it is unfortunate that they are not as close to each other as mine are, and are not always willing to come to each others aid when needed, such a shame because they each have so many talents and skills to offer also. But we were raised that family always comes first and they take care of each other no matter what.

My family has a plumber, a car mechanic, an electrician, a construction worker, a heating & air conditioning specialist, a writer, an office worker, a computer whiz, an engineer, a tax preparer, a car sales person, a school bus driver, a package & shipping specialist and the list goes on as they all move around in their careers and locations. Each and everyone would be there for me if I needed them, gotta love it!

One of my younger brothers has been incarcerated for the past 15 years and has just now been released and has been looking for work since his release.  He is staying with another brother for a while until he can get back on his feet, which my take some time.  It isn’t easy for someone who has been locked up to get back in the swing of things, it takes time and patience. Finding employment has been one of the biggest challenges for him, but things are looking up for him, I just got an email from him telling me all of the things that he has been up to since his release, which was right before Halloween. The family had a really nice Thanksgiving holiday this year with him being home, where he belongs, once again.

In his latest email he was telling me that he has finally landed a job in the field that he was in before everything went haywire 15 years ago.  He had worked in industrial electronics/construction and was getting really good in that field, but a lot of things have changed in that field in that amount of time so he needed to be refreshed in it all before he could get back into it. So he took some classes, did good in them (of course, he is a very smart guy) and then started looking for work.

He finally has landed a job at a company, Zycon. It seems that Zycon is an industrial directory. Engineers, contractors, industrial companies, etc. can use this directory to find manufacturers and distributors of the industrial products and services they need. He was going on about grommets, blowers, flow meters, quad rings, lock pins, pneumatic cylinders things like that are so foreign to me, but are second nature to him of course. Of course I checked out their web-site www.zycon.com and boy was I over my head on that site, but it seemed to be a good place to find things that one would need in that field.

I’m so glad that they are giving him this opportunity, with his record and everything, I hope that they treat him well and give him the respect that he deserves and needs at this point in his life.  I wish him luck and look forward to getting more of this kinds of positive emails from him more often.

Online Brochure Printing

Last year was a brand new beginning for my oldest nephew after a long few years of absolute stress from school, and having a baby girl with his long time girlfriend since high school. Everything seemed like it wasn’t going to get any easier to my nephew, but one thing stuck in his mind to keep him going. He had always wanted to open up his own restaurant since he was a young boy, and worked hard through school to educate himself to do so.

His girlfriend was willing to help him do so at any cost and found her passion for interior and exterior decorating through out their relationship, so my nephew had asked her to be the one to decorate and design his restaurant. After they gathered enough money to put their plan into action, they started a hunt for a building to rent out or hopefully to rent to own, to open his restaurant in. It didn’t take long to find the perfect spot for them to do so in, and started right away with their plans.

After everything was set up and ready, they both came to me one evening while I was watching over their precious little girl, and had asked me for opinions on the cheapest but most effective way to get their menu out to everyone around their location. I had them sit at my computer with me to see what our options were, and after a long night of trying to compare options and prices we found brochure printing online, which is a perfect and not a costly way to get not only their menu out to everyone, but to get their new business name out and recognized.

Needless to say, that’s the route they took, and ever since their grand opening of their restaurant, their business has been booming. I’m glad that everything they worked hard for, is really taking off like no one ever expected, and I am so happy to lend a helping hand to them to help them provide for their beautiful little family.

Paintball Anyone

The only thing that I really remember about my one time experience with paint balling, back in the 80’s, was that it did sting a bit when you got “hit” with a blast.  I was younger then, but it was great fun and I know that I walked a bit funny after the fun was over on the next day!

I’m surprised at how much there is to offer now a days in the paintball industry, but a lot of things have changed in past 30 years, I suppose.  There a store right down the street from use that sells paintball accessories and military/police items as well.  I have never been in there before, but Hubby and his friend walked down there one year way back and looked around a bit, I remember them telling me about all of the merchandise that was for sale in there. The parking lot is always full, so they must be doing something right.

If you are into paintballing you might want to check out pntball.com and see all of the things that they have now for paintballing fun.  Hubby was looking over my shoulder the day that I ran across their web-site while I was surfing the net, and the next thing I know, he is sitting in the chair and had taken over the PC so that he could look at the products better.  You can order piece by piece or they have whole kits geared to get you started at. Their stock has a full line of cheap paintball guns, paintball markers, paintball gear, barrels, hoppers, harnesses, tubes, and paintball masks, by many different brands.

Hubby seemed particularly interested in the one Tippmann 98 custom Paintball ACT Marker Sniper gun package. It regularly sells for $429 and is marked down to $299, so Hubby was drooling at the mouth.  I’ll have to keep that one in mind, maybe for Father’s Day, wouldn’t that be cool.
