Is Two Good Days In A Row Just Too Much To Ask For!

You would think that by now I would have learned to make sure that all the windows in all of the vehicles are rolled up at night whether or not the weather man has the word “rain” anywhere near to coming out of his mouth. I got to get a good amount of outside chores taken care of today and it about killed me by the time I finished getting things done and finished putting everything up and away.

As much as I was tired out, I was still in a good enough mood not to worry about the window situation. And knowing that the weather man didn’t say so much as a word about rain, I just got myself inside to a big, iced cold, glass of iced tea, a warm shower when I heard a huge rolling thunder headed our way and the car and truck windows were the last thing on my mind. Too bad that first thing this morning I sat down into a wet and mushy car seat. I do believe I don’t have to say anything else, am I right?

Willie Nelson and Marty Stuart’s Guitars

One of the people who come to mind instantly when you say anything about country music or the Grand Old Opry is Marty Stuart. He has been a performer for over 40 years – it wouldn’t take long to look up and find out, but I don’t see the need to at this point. I think you get my drift.

Trigger since 1969
Willie Nelson’s Guitar – Trigger

I remember reading that he left home at a very young age to come to Nashville and play guitar. He looks great and I love the suit he is wearing in this photo! He seems to have a variety of electric and acoustic guitars, like a epiphone pro-1 ultra that he has been seen performing with. Not like Willie Nelson who only plays his one and only acoustic guitar who he has called Trigger since he got it back in 1969, if my memory serves me correctly. Trigger seems to have an interesting story behind it. If you are into Willie Nelson at all – it is an entertaining story that can be found all over the Internet. I use Wikipedia a lot even though I have been warned time and time again about trusting what you read there. But honestly I don’t trust anything 100% of what I read or hear anyway.

Fixing a Lunch Buffet

Had no idea I was going to have a house full of kids today but I’m glad I took the rest of the week off to be with the kids. We were hoping to get away for a couple of days, but hubby is busy with work and the kids seem more interested in staying home so they can play with their friends, so that’s fine, too.

With all these girls at our house I decided to fix a Mexican buffet for their lunch. I  cooked a big batch of ground beef and set out all the different fixings for a taco bar. I put out chopped tomato, chopped onion, shredded lettuce, salsa, shredded cheese, sour cream and both hard taco shells and soft tortillas. Since I love avocados, I made some fresh guacamole and put it out with Doritos chips.

Now I can let them fix their own food and disappear upstairs for some peace and quiet.

Arts & Crafts is a great hobby

When I was younger, my family was entirely into arts & crafts. It brought the family together and it was so much fun creating our own independent ideas and sharing them with everyone else. So today Im pulling out my old arts & crafts box and letting my imagination run wild and rapid. Maybe even get the kids to join in with me when they return from school.

Uptown

The first time I heard this on the radio I knew that it was going to be a hit! It’s been out for several months now and I still get excited when I hear it played. How anyone can listen to this and not want to get up and dance, I’ll never know!

House Full of Little Girls

Our youngest asked if a few of her girl friends could come over today and play and then spend the night tonight, of course I said yes, even though it is a Sunday and tomorrow is Monday, it is no problem, school is our and I have off tomorrow and won’t have to worry about the kids being at the house by themselves.

I must say though, that she has a great group of friends, very low maintenance kids, noisy at times, and always hungry, other then that they are no problem to have over and it is good to hear the laughter of little girls all over the house, it makes me giggle hearing them all.

Ah too bad that youth is wasted on the young, isn’t it?

Sia – Chandelier Official Video

The official director’s cut for the 4 time Grammy nominated hit “Chandelier” directed by Sia and Daniel Askill, featuring Maddie Ziegler. I wish I could hit this note and carry it as well as she does. A girl can dream can’t she!

Denon and Marantz

Hard to believe that Denon has been around since the 1970’s, but they have been. I was looking online and was reviewing some of their fascinating audio electronics and was glad to see that dennon is still around and still growing strong since they merged with Marantz back in 2002. Back when D.J.’s started replacing live bands at dances and other celebrations that we were so used to having “back in the day”.

Browser Issues

I’ve used Internet Explorer for my internet browser ever since it was first invented. I have faithfully upgraded every time it told me to, including last night when I got a message to install the IE-9. So I did that and now my blog doesn’t work. The screen freezes up and I can’t type anything.

So I had to switch over to Firefox and try using that browser. At least it is free and it seems to be working with my blog. I guess this old dog just needs to learn a few more new tricks and learn how to use another browser now.

Living in New York City

It seems that if I could pick a city to live in, I would have to pick New York, N.Y., that is only if I didn’t have any children to deal with, unless I was rich and could afford a nanny full-time, now that would be cool.

My friend Nancy, whom I’ve known since Middle School is relocating due to her husband’s (Mike) new job is requiring them to live right in New York City, I am so envious us them.  They have been together for over 10 years, we call them Ken and Barbie because they resemble the doll characters so much.  Both are devoted Catholics and are waiting until they are in their 30’s to start a family, so they can have fun now and save up the money needed to raise their kids the right way, and of course they will be sent to a private Catholic schools in the best neighborhood known around.

So she sends me an email the other week, the subject line being “North Fork real estate properties”, I’m thinking what the heck is this about, getting ready to delete it thinking of course that it was spam, until I noticed who it was from.  Mike’s new firm recommended Prudential’s Douglas Elliman, New York’s largest real estate firm and Nancy was sending me the link to the web-site for me to check out.  Wow, what beautiful scenery and lovely properties to be found in the Big Apple.  Good thing the drive is only about a 5 hour one to get there because they are going to be taking that drive a few times, but being able to do so much right on their PC will be such a time saver and will make it less stressful at a time when stress is at it’s highest – moving time, ugh.
