It has been one crazy day today, I had gotten into a car accident earlier in the morning, which didn’t turn out the greatest on my part. Plus I had to order tickets that were almost sold out for Rob Zombie, that I wanted to give my husband for his birthday. That didn’t happen so now I cant give them to him right on his birthday, it’ll be late. But oh well, life goes on, hopefully tomorrow will be relaxing, lord knows I need it.
Sick
I had just gotten of the phone with my mother, and she has informed me that she is sick at home and needs help around the house. I have no problem helping my mother out around her house but its difficult to keep up with my family and my own house when I’m not there to do so. But I’m putting my house hold needs on the back burner for today so I can help. I do love my parents, and I will drop anything for them and hopefully they know it.
Hungry
I have been starving all morning just because I haven’t had anytime to sit down and at least try to enjoy a meal. Every time I get a chance to myself one of my kids needs me, or my husband needs to talk to me, or whatever. I mowed half the lawn here, made breakfast and lunch so far, washed dishes, did laundry, paid my bills, took my daughter to cheer leading this morning and also took my son with me to go grocery shopping. I have had a very long day, so I’m going to go to a fast food restaurant in a minute and grab something for myself so this headache will go away.
I’m so happy for her
My best friend has just moved here from Maine and is just getting settled in. Within a few weeks she has met one of my close guy friends and had started dating him not too long ago. She seems to be in a happy little world of her own, which makes me happy, because for a while there she thought she wasn’t going to find a good guy the treated her right and all, now shes happier then she ever imagined. I’m so happy for her, I hope she gets everything she ever dreamed of.
Credit Card deals to be found
Hubby and I are going to sit and review our present credit card situation. I want to see if we can downsize, I just paid off one credit card this month and will no longer use it, that is a good feeling.
There is a great variety of attractive and very profitable deals to be made by taking the time to research on a web-site, so I know what we will be doing in the next couple of days or so. It is not something that I look forward to doing all that much, paperwork just drives me up the wall and Hubby is not known for his patience, but if in the end we end up saving and or earning money it will be well worth the effort, wouldn’t you agree?
Rainy Days
It has been raining like crazy since last week, and its supposed to keep raining all weekend long. My kids have been driving me crazy with the whole “I’m bored” spiel ever since Thursday, because my kids are usually always outside playing sports or playing in the yard with toys and friends. My son especially, he absolutely loves playing basketball all day, everyday. The weekends are usually my time to relax since I work all week at two full time jobs and most of the time worn out and not being able to move at all after work, but I almost always try to make time for family events or just little things to do with the kids to keep them happy and cheerful. Hubby on the other hand, sometimes is required to work on the weekends but usually most of the time comes home and plays with the kids until they all can’t move, which I think is so awesome that he does that. But this weekend is a little hard on all of us, Hubby and I are both feeling a bit sick and can hardly get the energy to move to do anything, and the kids are so bored because its rainy heavily outside and they cant do any activities they normally do. SO I got up today and went to the movie store an rented quit a few movies for them that they have been wanting to see here for a while, and hopefully it keeps them busy long enough to where we can feel better and do family things again. I hope it stops pouring out there soon, I’ll smile big when it happens, I know my kids sure will be smiling big.
I’m a new Postie!
A sibling of mine knew that I was struggling to make money because of Hubby’s health issues that are keeping him from working. I work a part-time job but the rest of the time I am needed at home to take care of him.
I love the computer so it made sense to us to be able to earn some money while staying at home where I was needed.
I had heard of the term”blog” but never really read one, much less written one, and I thought at first that I was getting in a bit over my head. After a week or so of daily posting it started coming a lot easier and I found that it was somehow stimulating my brain in a positive way. Not being around other people where you can converse can make you feel very secluded from life, I mean you can only watch so much T.V. which can at times stimulate your brain, some good and some bad, ha ha!
I have also found that blogging can be therapeutic, it gives you a chance to vent without having to bend someones ear that really doesn’t give a hoot anyhow.
Lastly, I believe that it is giving me a challenge. I need a healthy challenge right now, I mean don’t get me wrong – I have plenty of challenges on a daily basis, who doesn’t?
Crème brûlée French toast
Saw this recipe on T.V. the other day and wanted to share it here.
Crème brûlée French toast
From Epicurious.com
This highly rated recipe from Epicurious.com is a cinch to prepare — and one of the tastiest breakfasts you’ll ever eat.
Why not marry two of the most delicious dishes of all — crème brûlée and French Toast? This easy and extremely popular recipe can be prepared the night before and baked in the oven the next morning. You can spice it up even more by cutting the bread with heart-shaped cookie cutters and then serving it to your loved one on Valentine’s Day.
Although the Diehls use large slices from a round loaf of bread and remove the crust, we also tried the recipe with a baguette, leaving the crust on, and found it just as delicious. At La Maison, challah is often the bread of choice.
INGREDIENTS
• 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
• 1 cup packed brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons corn syrup
• An 8- to 9-inch round loaf country-style bread
• 5 large eggs
• 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 teaspoon Grand Marnier
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
DIRECTIONS
In a small heavy saucepan melt butter with brown sugar and corn syrup over moderate heat, stirring, until smooth and pour into a 13- by 9- by 2-inch baking dish. Cut six 1-inch thick slices from center portion of bread, reserving ends for another use, and trim crusts. Arrange bread slices in one layer in baking dish, squeezing them slightly to fit.
In a bowl whisk together eggs, half-and-half, vanilla, Grand Marnier, and salt until combined well and pour evenly over bread. Chill bread mixture, covered, at least 8 hours and up to 1 day.
Preheat oven to 350° F and bring bread to room temperature.
Bake bread mixture, uncovered, in middle of oven until puffed and edges are pale golden, 35 to 40 minutes.
Serve hot French toast immediately.
