Rain

We have had so much rain this month they have opened the flood gates at Dale Hollow Lake and those have not been open for 25 years. The lake right by our house is letting out water at an alarming rate and the picnic tables are still flooded. Lets hope we get some warn sunny weather soon or we will be living in a swamp. It has been raining off and on today and we really do not need any more rain.

Hockey

Hockey is really my favorite sport and I love going to the games when the Predators are here in town. They are on a west coast swing right now and will play the next six games away from Nashville. When they get back to town I plan to attend a few games in the month of November, I miss the friends we made in our old section and it would be real nice to see them again. We even have made friends with some of the ushers and when we see these people out on the town we have friends we never knew about it is kind of funny.

Halloween

Halloween was a lot of fun at our house we decorated the yard and bought a bunch of candy to give out and we had about 30 kids show up at our house, and they were all little kids which is fine by me. I do not like the big kids that go out and take candy from the little kids this holiday is for the little kids and for the little kid in us adults we get to dress up and decorate the house and make it a fun time for the little kids. My dogs hate this day second only to the 4th of July. The fireworks drive my little dogs crazy every year.

Low prices

Last night while I was watching the news on channel 5 they had a report of gas priced under $2.00 a gallon. In Winchester Tn there is a station selling regular unleaded gasoline for $1.98 a gallon. I almost spit out my beer when I saw that price. It is a two hour trip to Winchester but it would almost be worth a road trip to fill up for that price. Well almost. I think I will wait for the price to fall to that level here, we are at $2.50 or so at most of the stations in Nashville, not a bad price after paying over $4.00 a gallon just a few weeks ago. I hope we get down under $2.00 a gallon here very soon.

High price of living

The cost of everything has gone through the roof the last few months. The price of gasoline has risen to an unheard of level of $4.00 a gallon. Even the food we have to eat to live has went up 200% in some cases. Just to drive to work everyday costs me $35 round trip, and that is if I do nothing extra, like run a route or check on any part of my 2 districts. It cost me $102 to fill up my truck last week, I about had a heart attack and died right there when the pump rolled over $100. We really need some relief from the high prices that are destroying middle America.

Spring

I really love the spring season the very best, everything is growing and so very green. When summer gets here it will brown up a bit and then in fall we get good colors for a couple of weeks. Here in Nashville we do not have a really harsh winter a lot of rain a little snow and always the threat of snow that we hardly ever get. We have had one bad snow storm here since I moved here in 1999, so I guess we are due to get some bad weather soon.
