Weather guessers

Well, the weather man said that the weekend would warm up, but it sure didn’t do it. In fact last night it got down to 30 degrees and we had frost on the ground this morning. It actually felt icy cold with the wind, even though the sun did shine. Guess it’s time to dig out the heavy duty winter wear sooner than I had thought. I so do not like the cold and winter. I think I get cases of that condition literally named SAD. I forget what the letters stand for and too lazy right now to look it up, but it’s pretty much an appropriate abbreviation for the meaning.

A face lift

My blog got a new face! I’m rather happy with it, actually. To be honest, there wasn’t much to choose from and am still thinking about going back to the original, since this one might not be so “me” after all, but like I said, I’m kind of happy with it. It’s making me feel a bit younger. And lets face it, most of us really could use that. I’ve got a great friend that is so patient with me when I need feel the “need” to make changes about things in my life. Plus she helps me a lot with other issues about blogging and in personal matters she has always been so supportive. I’ve been blessed with some very awesome friends for that, I’m thankful.

Thinking about a new addition

With a title like that, some would think I was going to add on to my home. Not the case. I’m seriously thinking about adopting another dog. What started out as MY cocker spaniel pup, has turned out to be totally in love with my husband. He was a gift from my good friend Amy, and she brought him to me as a small bundle of joy. I trained him, took care of him, taught him, love him and yes…he does listen to me, but he is totally loyal and in love with my husband to the point of nearly puky. LOL! To be honest, I feel a bit betrayed and sad. Okay, maybe that is selfish thinking. I still can’t help it and can’t help feeling that I want a buddy, pal and best fur friend, besides my horse and cat. Oh the cocker loves me, of course. But not the way he loves my husband. Guess some fur people are like that to certain human people. So, I’ve been checking our local shelter once a week. I think I want another Shepard. Not sure what our little guy will think, and even though he is four years old, well…it’s hard telling with him, if he’d like another dog on his turf. He has a mind of his own.

Canada’s Thanksgiving

I have met a lot of people who have become friends, via the internet. Very good people who I’m close to and share thoughts and such with. I want to wish them a very Happy Thanksgiving. It seems a bit strange still that their holidays are sometimes on different days than ours in the USA, but after so many years, I’ve gotten used to the differences. Eat up for me and enjoy the holiday, my friends!!

Busy,busy, busy

It’s been one heck of a week. I’ve been bagging up my summer clothes, and then hauling them up to the attic. Getting back out the ones I will keep and wear in the winter and in general putting clothes in bags to take to some charities I know that will help others with them. It’s a LOT of work, but I’m happy to do it. And then…go figure, not that I’m complaining, the weather here has been in the high 70’s and even up to 82 degrees all week and it’s supposed to last at least until the middle of next week. I’m not complain though. I love what we call Indian Summer and it’s great to be able to get out in the sunshine. I even got tan from taking the dogs for long walks the past couple days. I think they are wondering what is wrong with me, walking so far. They get tired before I do and want to go home. LOL!

October has arrived

I can’t believe it’s October already. It seems like, with the exception of just a week of hot weather, summer came and went way too fast. I really didn’t do a quarter of the things I would have liked to do, as far as short family vacations to the lake place or pool side cook outs like we normally do. My husband and youngest son are outside right now, taking down the pop up camper we had for the kids to hang out in and sleep here or at the lake house instead of staying inside on warm nights and it seems sort of sad to see it packed down. Hopefully next year we’ll have more time for family camping and outings.
