New Grill

We decided we want to start grilling outside but didn’t have a grill. So we went shopping and that was really hard. We had to decide between a charcoal grill or a gas grill. Did we want a table top grill or a free standing grill? Did we want stainless steel or cast iron? It was overwhelming. We ended up getting a small tabletop Weber grill for our first grill. If we like it and want to do more, maybe we will upgrade later on this summer. But the Weber looks like it is plenty of grill for just the two of us.

At the Movies

The movie theatre that is close to our house has changed to showing older releases and only charging $1.50 for a show ticket. If we want to see the newest movies we have to go all the way to the mall.

The lower price is nice, but the popcorn is $6 for a small bucket and the sodas are $4 each. they don’t even sell bottled water, and I don’t like to drink sodas. So I don’t like to buy anything to eat from the theatre because there’s nothing to drink to help wash down all that dry popcorn or sticky candy.

April Showers

We have had a lot of rain this Spring. I am starting to feel soggy from all this rain every day. I think we have had twice as much as normal. All of the creeks are flooded and even the big dam has flooded up the lake shore beyond the park benches.

I’m sure this problem is making it tough on the farmers – they can’t plant the seeds for their crops and risk having the seeds all drown in all this water. They can’t even plow – the fields are nothing but mud. It will be a short growing season for our local vegetables this year.

Easter Candies

jellybeans

Even if you are not very religious you can still enjoy Easter. Anyone can have an Easter egg hunt and enjoy a special Easter brunch or dinner. I like the candies, especially jelly beans!

Green Beer All Weekend!

We are going to parties and gatherings all weekend for a very long celebration of St. Patrick’s Day this year.

We are responsible drinkers, though. We will take turns drinking and being sober so that we have each other’s back. We would never risk a DUI or an accident because we  were drinking. I would take a cab if I had to.

We’ll be out with lots of friends all weekend. I hope you have as much fun celebrating the hollday as we do!

Date Night

Even though we are a couple and have been together for over 2 years, we still have date night. I like to celebrate the end of the work week and wind down on Friday night by going out to dinner and then watching a movie or going to club to listen to music for a few hours.

Tonight we are going to the comedy club and have a few laughs. You don’t want to eat dinner at the comedy club – all they have is burgers and chicken nuggets. I think we’ll probably stop by Appleby’s on the way over and get some decent food before the show.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Did you go out and celebrate for New Year’s Eve?

We went to a party at the firehouse. It was mostly firemen and their wives. Glen’s brother is a volunteer fireman, so we sat with him and his wife and knew most of the rest of the people there anyway. The firemen had hired a local band to play and when they took their 15 minute band breaks we played some top hits on the jukebox. We danced all night!

The price of the ticket included a glass of champagne, so at New Year’s we all counted down the last ten seconds and yelled and kissed and toasted each other with our champagne.

It was probably the nicest New Year’s Eve I’ve ever had. I we all can say the same for the coming year, too. Happy New Year Everyone!

Kool Aid, Kool Aid tastes Great, Wish we had some Can’t Wait!

Kool Aid has been my favorite cold drink for as long as I can remember, it was the only cold drink in the other than the iced tea that my mother for every dinner. The Kool Aid has to be red in coloring though, nothing but red will satisfy these aging taste buds and I have tried them all. Cherry and Black Cherry are the top two, and Black Cherry is hard to find, so when I do stumble upon some I buy up the whole lot to keep me going.
I used to enjoy Pepsi for a good amount of time, but suddenly a few years back I just got tired of the taste of all types of soda and returned to my childhood days and starting drinking my Red Kool Aid once again.
