A Biker Joke For You Today

Bruce , a tough looking biker was riding his motorcycle when he sees a girl about to jump off a bridge so he stops.

“What are you doing?” he asks. “I’m going to commit a suicide,” she says. While he did not want to appear insensitive, he didn’t want to miss an opportunity he asked “Well, before you jump, why don’t you give me a kiss?”

So, she does. After she’s finished, Bruce the biker says, “Hell Darling,  That was the best kiss I have ever had. That’s a real talent you are wasting. You could be famous! on earth are you committing suicide?”

“My parents don’t like me dressing up like a girl……”

The New 2011 Scion IQ Micro-Sub Compact

Have you seen or heard of the new 2011 scion iq that is the talk of the town, so to speak.  It is being designated as the friendly competitor of The Smart Car that we all have seen buzzing down the roads these past couple years. I don’t know anyone that owns one so that I can get their opinion on these tiny little mini vehicles. I guess I could go down to the dealership and take one out for a test drive one day. I’d like to see how they handle on the roads and at 55 MPH or more.

This scion iq launch is a mighty big to do for the micro-sub compact industry. We are finding the need for much smaller vehicles that don’t eat up as much energy as the vehicles that we have grown accustomed to. Check out scion.com and find out all you need to know about the line up that is ready and waiting for launching. These are some pretty cool looking little cars and I’m sure we will be seeing them up and down our roads here real soon. It will be interesting to see people’s reactions to them.

Too Cold to Grill

When I cook steaks I like to use my gas grill that is out on the deck. But it is pretty cold this week. I don’t think I want to stand in front of a grill out in this cold weather just to eat a well cooked steak.

I might go down to the home goods store and buy one of those George Foreman grills that you use in your kitchen. I have heard several people say they got one for Christmas and that they love it. So maybe I should try that out. I don’t really see how an electric waffle maker looking appliance can cook steaks as good as a grill with open flame, but I’m willing to give it a chance just for the sake of not having to be outside when the temperature drops below 20 degrees.

Shocking News from Tuscon

Riding home in the truck I heard something on the radio about a shooting in Tucson, which is a long ways from here. But the shooting was extremely unusual in that one of the victims is a U. S. Congresswoman. Evidently she was hosting a public meeting of some sort and some guy came up and shoot her and then emptied his gun shooting everyone in the crowd.

As soon as I got home I turned on the TV to see what that was all about. It is still too early to know many details, but so far they say that 6 people are dead and 18 are injured. The Congresswoman is still alive and in surgery but was shot in the head, so it doesn’t look very promising.

This whole thing is just shocking. My sympathies go to the victims and their families.

Hansen Wholesale offers Guaranteed Lowest Prices on ALL Gas logs by R. H. Peterson

Been thinking about  turning to Gas Logs sometime in the near future. From what I can tell R. H. Peterson Real Fyre Gas Logs are right up there on top and that they have a great website with a lot of good information to take in on the subject. So I’ve been taking a gander around the Robert H. Peterson gas logs site to find out more about the world of Vented Gas Logs and Ventless Gas Logs, I didn’t know that there would be such a variety to choose from and many things that are factored into the decision of which way to go. But I’m sure that Hansen Wholesale is the place that I’m going to be purchasing my choice from.

This old farm house is going to be needing upgrades in so many areas and I can only do such much with so little time and money, but if I keep on steady like I might be able to see and feel a difference and feel good about what I’ve been putting so much blood, sweat and tears into. It’s not like it’s a money pit, my parents took real good care of the place but it is old and it needs to be kept on top of so it doesn’t start going downhill because that can turn into a real nightmare.

WebHostingBuzz

A good New Year’s Resolution to adhere to these days is to try and make a better effort to become as “green” as humanly possible. Living on a farm most of my life I have learned many ways to help our Mother Earth in various ways. The good lord knows that we have been into recycling before it was the “in” thing to do. We have always tried hard to replace anything that we have taken from the land and have been open to ideas and suggestions.

One thing that we can all do is give our business to companies that are doing their part in the “green movement”. Did you know that there are website hosting companies that are making a huge effort and are doing wonderful things in order to participate in these practices. WebHosting Buzz is doing a tremendous job with their efforts. You can read more about them here at http://www.webhostingfan.com/reviews/webhostingbuzz-web-hosting-review/.

I’d like to really encourage as many folks as possible to check this out and see if they would be willing to switch over to a web host that is doing things such as WebHostingBuzz is doing. You can find reviews and ratings as well as a lot more information on a ton of web hostings at webhostingfan.com.

Skydiving Fun

Amazing footage from the world indoor skydiving championship 2008. Take a minute and a half and watch this.

This is one of things that can be put in the catagory of “The most fun you can have with your clothes on” in a minute and a half at that!

How To Cook A Turkey

TURKEY RECIPE

I thought this sounded good for people who are buying turkey for their holiday dinners!

Here is a turkey recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing ingredient. I like traditional stuffing, but I’m OK with trying something new. When I found this turkey recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who are not sure how to tell when turkey is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out.  See what you think.

  • 8 – 15 lb. Turkey, thawed
  • 1 cup Land O’Lakes butter, melted
  • 1 cup dry stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is Good)
  • 1 cup un-popped popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER’S low fat version is best)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Brush turkey well with melted butter, salt, and pepper.

Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan, making sure the neck end is toward the front of the oven, not the back.

After about 4 hours listen for the popping sounds.

When the turkey’s ass blows the oven door open and the bird flies across the room … it’s done.

And, you thought I didn’t know how to cook … !!!!!

I thought streaking was outdated

I was amused to read in the BBC website that a polo match that was attended by Prince Charles was interrupted by three male streakers.  I thought that streaking was long out of style!  I haven’t heard of any streakers recently in the USA!  I wonder if streaking is a frequent occurrence in other parts of the world?

Holiday Ham

For Christmas dinner I have decided to get a ham instead of a turkey. We just had a huge turkey dinner a couple of weeks ago and I want something different for our holiday dinner table.

There was a good selection of spiral cut, precooked hams at the Sam’s Club last week, and I considered picking up one then. I probably should have bought it while I saw it there – if I go back to buy it today there is a good chance that they have sold out. But I’ll go check and pick up a few more things I need in bulk. If they don’t have any hams left, I’ll head over to Honeybaked Ham and pay a little more for the ham – but it will be a really good ham.
