Sisters

I love that fact that I am so close with my sisters, and it seems the older we get the closer we become and I realize how truly blessed I am to have them in my life, and my brothers also, of course. My sisters and I talk on the phone only on occasion, we mainly converse via email and recently using the Instant Messaging, at night when we are most likely all to be on-line. Isn’t it so great how Email has made it possible for so many people to keep in touch, who otherwise never would have taken the time or trouble in an effort to communicate the way we do now with the Internet and all.

My one sister and I have been talking about Facial Plastic Surgery over the past several years and I think that she is getting close to taking the plunge, as she has been talking about it more and more between us all lately. She has sent me an email recently about a Minnesota cosmetic surgery company that she has been communicating with online for some time now about a few surgical options. She wants to start with what she calls a “simple little brow lift” which is done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia, and see how that goes before doing any other kind that they are qualified for at their practice.

A friend recommended this place and my sister has apparently spent a good amount of time communicating with them online and on the phone, she says that they are very nice and has been treated well. She tells me that she has made an appointment for a in person consultation, but not until late July, where she will finally meet their staff and hopefully make her decision to do it or not.

I’m pretty confident that she will have the procedure done. I hope that she does well with it and will be happy with the result. She is a braver women than I at this point and time.

Chlorella

I always find myself often looking and seeing what is out there as far as Herbal Supplements are concerned. I know that I am not eating a well balanced and nutritious diet. Most confirmed bachelors don’t get the necessary foods that are needed for a healthy mind, soul and body, cooking for one is really a chore and a challenge at times and certainly not any fun.

I’ve never been a fan of taking chemically man made vitamins and have always looked for natural herbs and supplements as a way to keep my health in running condition. Now that I have to rely on only myself for the daily running and upkeep of the farm I really need to keep healthy, or things will really fall apart quickly. I’m hoping to get some help come spring, things will really get busy and hectic at that point here.

Chlorella is a good choice for benefits such as, removing toxins, and it reduces cancer risks, while fortifying your body with necessary vitamins and minerals. So I have been thinking on trying this much talked about chlorella and have just found a company by the name of Greenpathsupplement online that sells them at a reasonable price and offers free shipping as well.

He’s Large!

There’s a scene in the movie, Popeye, where Olive Oil is hanging out with her girlfriends and she starts to sing a song about her fiancé, Bluto. She tries to sing of his virtues, but the song ends up, “He’s large,” and the girls sing along like backup singers, “Large.” That was the polite way, back in the 1980’s, to describe guys like me. I’m large and I’m not all that worried about losing weight. I’m not fat. There is a difference between large and fat.

My problem with being large is finding clothes that fit. For some reason a lot of U. S. manufacturers have decided that men who are wide must also be short. If I can find clothes that fit me around the waist, the legs are too short. If I find a shirt that is large enough for my barrel chest, then the sleeves are too short. That is why I shop for Large Men’s Clothing online. I know the measurements that I need and I can usually get enough details from the web site to know if the clothes will fit me.

Enjoy the video, thanks to YouTube! I’ve always been a Popeye fan and was thrilled when this movie came out. I think it’s time to dig that movie out and watch it again, probably been ten years since I’ve seen in last!

Luxury Vacation Rentals, Paris or Greece?

Since it has been so nasty outside with freezing rain, snow, sleet, along with some pretty hefty winds these past couple of days, I do what I only have to do and get myself back inside as quick as possible. The older I get the less I enjoy (yes I used to enjoy) winter and all the ugly weather that it brings along with it, like it or not. Although we have had some pretty mild winters these past couple of years it is still winter and it’s still cold and wet. Not my favorite mixture.

I’ve been going through some boxes that have been in the “Guest Room” for many years now that mainly have papers in them that have needed to be gone through, most of which ends up in the paper/cardboard recycling bin. It’s a slow process and sometimes a painful one that causes me to feel depressed for days. Even though my folks have been gone for over four years now it is still painful and raw. I will never get over it, but am doing the best that I can with the cards that I have been dealt in this life. Living here at their house and running the family farm on my own has been a challenge and will continue to because that is real life.

What I really need right now is when I get my tax refund check is to book one of the luxury paris vacation rentals that I’ve been eyeballing online for years now. I made the mistake of sharing my wants and needs for a luxury vacation some where like Paris or Greece and now she seems to be on a mission to get me away from here and plan the “perfect get-a-way” for me before I lose my mind and health. I don’t want to go alone, but there really aren’t a lot of people that I could spend that amount of time with and enjoy before wanting to strangle them. I’ve been on my own for so long here that I don’t know how I would handle sharing myself 24/7. And trying to find someone that can get away for a week because of their job, or their kids, or their aging parents, or their health or their finances, blah, blah, blah………

Weather, Yards and Gardens

Today I woke up to the buzzing sound of a neighbor’s lawn mower. Oh good grief, can it be that time of year already? I guess I need to drag my lawn mower out of the depths of my garage and make sure it starts and runs again this year. My immediate neighbors all take great pride in their lawns and landscaping. Several of them pay a professional lawn care company to come mow their grass once a week. I am sure that they enjoy having someone else take care of that chore, especially when it gets hot in the summer time. But I enjoy being out in my yard and doing the work myself.

I like a more natural look for the shrubs and flowers rather than the sterile, edged lawns across the street. I am going to do some gardening this year – nothing too big and fancy, but I want to get outside and enjoy the sunshine on the weekends, and I like picking fresh vegetables and fruit from the yard to include with my meals. Home grown is always a good ingredient to be able to toss into your meal at the last minute. Hopefully I will be one of those people that will bringing in a variety of fruits and veggies and leaving them there for the other employees to take and use. Lord knows I’ve taken home plenty of these freebies so it will be good ton be on the other side for once.

Many of The Columbia Backpacks

Yesterday I had to go and pick my niece up from the nurse’s clinic at school to take her home. Bless her heart she was so sick, most likely the flu. Good thing I got my flu shot a few months ago and I tried to keep the window down in my truck and no hugs and kisses were exchanged in an effort to keep her germs all to her self. Last thing I need is to get sick. Since I am usually not around a lot of people that are carrying millions of germs along with them I don’t get sick very often and I always get my flu shot.

My sister was out-of-town all day and they couldn’t get hold of my brother-in-law, so I am on the top of the emergency names and numbers to call in situations like this. It was a cold and rainy, miserable weather day, so I was actually grateful to get out of the nasty weather, ride in my nice warm truck to go fetch my niece, carry one of the many columbia backpacks that she uses for school, take her home and get her up to her room. I stayed with her until her Dad got home and I haven’t heard from anyone yet to let me know if they are taking her to the doctors or what. I hope she feels better soon and am praying that no one else in the house gets sick as well.

So Many Beds, So Little Time

As I’ve been talking about here lately that after spending some time now sleeping in the bed here at the farm that most be as old as the original farmhouse decor, I have decided that I really need to invest in a new bed that will be better for my aching back. After putting so much time and effort into the place, plenty of blood, sweat and tears have been placed into the daily work routine and I just can’t do it all anymore with a sore back each morning.

I have been doing some looking around online to see what types of beds are out there these days, I want to find one that is good quality, fits in with the rest of the furnishings in the old place and it definitely needs to be affordable at this point. Man have I been surprisingly overwhelmed with all of the selections that are now being produced and being offered these days, but I was happy to find one particular site at Time4sleep.co.uk that has a few that have caught my eye and I want to check out further that are in their Antique beds category.

A good quality bed is an investment and not something that I will take lightly, but I really need to make a decision soon, as these cold winter mornings are bad enough without starting them with an aching back!

The Right Kind of Bed For A Good Night’s Sleep

Sleep is such an important human condition. Sometimes I hate the way that our bodies require sleep – it is such a disruption to the day or night to have to stop and lie down for 6 hours. But a good night’s sleep is important to your health and ability to function well the next day. On a good night, I might be able lie down for 8 hours. To be honest, I can’t remember the last time I’ve slept longer than 8 hours uninterrupted. Most night’s I’m good with between 6 and 8 hours of good sleep.

There are several considerations to a good night’s sleep and one of the most important is a comfortable, supportive bed. This becomes even more important as our bodies grow and mature, with our skeleton and muscles needing proper support and rest. The right bed can mean the difference between a completely relaxing and sound sleep, or a night of tossing and turning with fits of wakefulness. I have had my eye on certain pieces of new furniture that I would like to replace or add to this household. In my opinion, the most important room in the house is the master bedroom. Everything else in a house can be replaced or substituted outside of the home, but the one main reason a man comes home at night is so that he can climb into his own bed.

Shopping for a new bed is worth a little time and effort to find the right bed, considering how important the bed is to a good night’s sleep. I found a web site called www.time4sleep.co.uk with all kinds of bed types – a large variety of styles and different types of beds for every home or person. My favorite beds on this site are the storage beds. There are different types of storage options and they make the bed very practical. Since the bed takes up so much space in the room, it makes total sense to me to make good use of the space under the bed to store items not used often. These beds make storage either attractive or hidden, at a cost similar to beds without the storage features.

Mom’s New Vintage Style Claw Food Bath Tub

My grandmother has been wanting to re-do her upstairs bathroom for many years, up until we finally took some time to sit and look around on the Internet to figure out exactly what style she was aiming for. We have come to the conclusion that she wants a Vintage style bathroom. For as long as I can remember she has only taken baths. She would put some bubble bath in the bath water, light some candles, set her cell phone and her cup of hot tea on the shelves and kick back with a good book for sometimes up to over an hour. We new not to bother her while she was soaking in the bathtub and if you needed to use the facilities while she was in there you were better off to go upstairs and use the bathroom up there and just let her be until she determined when it was time to come out and join the real world.

We came across some affordable claw foot bath tubs that immediately caught her eye, and she was sold right off the bat! Today her bathroom is completely done with her new tub set up, and she couldn’t be any happier with her choice. Now she can lay back in her tub and relax in her Vintage style bathing room til her heart’s content, she deserves it, let their be no doubt about that.

The Benefits of the Acai Berry

According to my latest readings, I found that, acai berry can be used for numerous beneficial health concerns, such as the slowing down the aging process, it strengthens immune systems, it assists with burning of extra calories, while boosting energy levels and also helps with the digestive system. That is a lot of good and positive effects due to this berry that has been known to be difficult to purchase in raw form or even concentrated in supplement form. It is now available to online shoppers at Acai-berry-online.com and can lead you to trial offers to try for yourself, on their homepage.
