Recycle

I believe in recycling.  We need very much to take care of our Mother Earth instead of spitting in her face the way we have been doing.  I may be old fashioned in my way of looking at things but I feel that our abuse is what is causing so much turmoil in our weather.  I must not be too old fashioned if the scientists are beginning to see it that way too.

Respect is something we have fallen away from and is something we need to relearn as a society.  Respect our land, respect our people and respect our country because I can’t think of anywhere I would rather live.  There are many places I have yet to visit and plan on traveling more as I can but for now, I will try the best I can to take care of my own.

Old Cell Phones & 911

Did you know that if you have a cell phone that is no longer on a contract with your cell company that it can still be used to dial 911?  It’s true.  Too many people simply throw away their old cell phones when they get a new one.  Some will recycle it as a child’s toy but I prefer to recycle it into something that will help others.  Women’s shelters give used cell phones to women in their shelter to have as extra protection so keep that in mind when you buy a new cell phone.  Donate your old cell phone to help someone helpless without it.

Respect

Our government may not be perfect and I am not going to try and say it is but I love this country.  I love our people and especially our soldiers.  These young men are fighting for us, to keep us safe, to give us freedom from fear and deserve nothing but our utmost respect and gratitude.  Everyone has a right to their opinions, but when your opinion hurts innocent people like our soldiers families, you might want to think twice before opening your mouth.  War is ugly and I can’t say it is right or wrong.  All I can say is I will not voice any opinion against our soldiers.

Water everywhere

The water damage was horrific here.  Deadly mold overtook most everything.  It was not something that could be easily fixed by just ordinary people.  I had to hire professionals to clean up the water damage and restore my building so we could return to a safe place.  This took a long time but was worth every dime.  I must make sure everyone is taken care of properly.

Katrina

When Katrina came, life in New Orleans changed forever.  I was not like a lot of people who chose to stay.  I know better than to face down an angry woman;) and chose to head for much safer ground, so I took all of my employees that wanted to go with me to Las Vegas.  I knew they could find jobs there until we could return home.  The computer is a great tool to keep you in touch with necessary people and goings on so you know when things are better.  Not the same, just getting better.  Then we returned.
