I have decided to open a clothing store, especially since I found where to get wholesale clothing that not only look great, but are in the latest styles. Fashion wholesale , I know that will definitely make my new store take off.
My niece is checking into a franchise
My niece lives here in New Orleans and has decided she wants to open her own business instead of just working for someone else. She’s a smart cookie so I know what ever she goes after will do very well. In fact, she’s been checking into a party supply franchise. How smart is that when she’s in the party capital of the world? Pretty darn smart if you ask me. Sure there are other stores that carry party supplies but she’s done her homework and found a franchise that is all over the world.
Party Land has been in business for 23 years so that’s a pretty darn good track record if you ask me. There are a lot of businesses that haven’t made it nearly that long, even with franchises. Why Party Land and why party supplies? Well with the economy off like it is, people everywhere are finding more and more reasons to celebrate. Not to mention that the birthday parties are being done at home now instead of somewhere else and people want to make those parties memorable and special. I think she’s on to something if you ask me. The more people find to celebrate and be with their families, the better I say!!
I love to read
I don’t just mean books either. Magazine subscriptions are what fill most of my reading needs. If it’s something I’m interested in, I have a subscription to a magazine that relates to what ever it is. No I’m not one of those old ladies that only reads magazines about health or decorating or even cooking.
In fact, this is where I found my absolute favorite magazine. “The Economist Magazine Subscription” is the best subscription I have ever gotten but that’s my opinion. I have really learned a great deal about what’s going on in Washington and around the world as far as that’s concerned. There’s some very interesting reading there.
Security is so very important
I’m not a spring chicken anymore so security is very important to me. That’s why I called ADT and had them to install a new home security system for me. There have been some break-in in the neighborhood and a lot of people know I live alone. Well I know I can sleep securely now for sure.
Local kids need new glasses
There are several children around me in need of eyeglasses before school starts back. I found $8 Rx eyeglasses and couldn’t believe my eyes. It’s true because I saw Zenni Optical on TV!!! For that price, I can get several children new eyeglasses for school. We have to help those in need so I say ‘High Five to Zenni Optical’ for making it possible.
There must be something in the water!!
I told you about Rachel and Jayce getting engaged, well lightening has struck again with another of my waitresses. She came in last night showing off her new engagement ring. She said her fiance was looking at engagement rings before Rachel’s was but finally found the perfect one for her after Rachel got hers.
I had to explain that getting engaged was not a race and should not be treated as one. I must admit she has an absolutely beautiful ring but the most important thing is that you love one another. A beautiful engagement ring is just icing on the cake.

If you’re like me, you love to shop but hate to pay full price for anything you buy. I keep looking until I can find the best possible prices on the items I find myself in need of or just happen to want at that time. A lady has a right to just want something new from time to time, right? Heck yeah I’m right. Like yesterday, I was in my parlor and decided it was time for a new rug. Have you seen just how much a quality rug costs? Well the price I found was one that made me so happy I had to celebrate. You know how we are in New Orleans, we celebrate everything.
Well now if you’re going to have a celebration, that means you will need a new dress or two and some new jewelry to go with it. You can’t show up to a celebration in the same old thing you wore the last time you celebrated something, now can you? Well you might be able to but I sure can’t. I found all sorts of stuff and also found more reasons to celebrate so how about that. I’ll never buy from a local store again. I like online shopping.
Are you one that frequents pawn shops?
I love pawn shops. You can find some really great deals on stuff that people have pawned in need of money for one reason or another. These days, that reason or another just might be that they lost their job and are trying to keep food in the house or just plain old keep their house. I guess in sort of a round about way, pawn shops help people to survive.
Rachel got a Tacori engagement ring!!
Well Rachel and Jayce have decided to get married before the baby is born. I was tickled pink to hear that because I honestly was afraid he would skip town on her. Well that’s not going to happen for sure because he bought her a Tacori engagement ring. Have you ever seen Tacori engagement rings before? They are absolutely gorgeous and about the best value for your money of any engagement rings I have seen. Yeah, I’m the one that told him about them. Not many people know that I was engaged years ago. They all think I am just a spinster I guess.
See my man bought me a Tacori engagement ring before he went off to war in Vietnam when I was 18 years old. I felt like the most special woman in the world. Just imagine this handsome Marine in his dress blues on his knee asking me to marry him while holding the most beautiful engagement ring I had ever seen. It didn’t take me but a second to say “YES”. He left for Vietnam two weeks later and never came home. I never thought about marrying anyone else either.
JR Dunn sure knows his diamonds and especially what will make a girl feel like a princess because that’s exactly what the diamond ring from his store did for me. That’s not all his store carries either so you should check him out if you want your lady to feel special too.
Nothing like a good bed to help you sleep better
I have a lot of trouble sleeping at night sometimes so I decided to totally redo my bedroom. First I decided to paint the walls a soothing blue color since I heard that you sleep better in a blue bedroom or at least with a blue blanket. Then I decided I needed a whole new bed. Well I go to my trusty computer and start searching for beds. Man did I come up with a long list of sites for beds but the one that really caught my eye was a web site in the UK.
My bedroom is rather large but storage space has always been a problem since I tend to be a bit of a pack rat. I have old quilts from as far back as my great-grandmothers hand sewn quilts and they are very important to me. Well what I found was called a ‘Tuscany Ottoman Bed Frame’. It’s a leather bed but the best part of it is the whole bed lifts up to reveal storage under the mattress. I don’t fully understand converting the UK’s money into our money and I’m not sure if they will even ship it to the States but I sure hope so. I absolutely love that bed. Well I gotta get back to looking and seeing if they will ship here.
