There was a scene in the movie, “Throw Momma From the Train” where Danny DeVito’s character asks if his friend, Larry, would like to see his box of treasures. Larry says, “No,” but Owen brings out a cigar box anyway. He takes out silly little items and talks about them in great, loving detail. It is funny and yet bittersweet.
I think we all have a little box of treasures that mean something special to each of us, but might look like junk to someone else. I have a drawer in my dresser that holds most of those items. Just little souvenirs from special places. Looking at them brings back great memories and i don’t expect anyone else to ever appreciate them like I do.
