After Dinner Chillaxing

Last Sunday’s family dinner was so good – my mom and sisters out did themselves this year! I know that I ate too much, but I couldn’t stop. I should have skipped dessert, but evidently I have no willpower when it comes to coconut cake. Besides, everyone else stayed seated at the table and kept eating, too. It would have been rude to get up and leave the table.

After dinner the guys went into my dad’s “man cave” and watched some TV. Dad has satellite and gets so any channels he never misses anything important. For only about $40 a month, he gets just about everything out there, including 61 HD channels. Since we all pitched in and bought him a flat screen HD TV at Christmas last year, getting all those HD channels from his Satellite TV is a really sweet feature.

This gave me a great idea for his birthday present this summer. I think we should pitch in and buy him the NFL special package on Direct TV called, The Sunday Ticket. This is only available on Direct TV and it gives you ALL he NFL games, with no restrictions like blackouts, and they are all in HD. Once you watch an NFL game in HD and see how much more detail there is, you can never go back to regular TV and enjoy the game as much. Trust me on this!

Safe and sound

One thing I love more than anything else in this world is my daughter. She is the light of my life and I would do anything for her. I also like to take steps to protect her from harm. One way I do this is to ensure that when she is online, she only visits sites that are good for her. When she wanted to play online games, I thought I would check out what she was playing before I let her do so.

I checked out a number of games sites that were online. There are thousands of online games to play and I wanted to be sure she only played good clean ones. That’s why I was happy when I found a site called gamehous.com. They have a number of games to choose from that are just plain old-fashioned fun.

I like the fact that my baby can stay at home and still have a lot of fun. It’s good to know that she is safe upstairs in her room playing online games. Sometimes she brings her friends over and they play together. I think that builds character and helps her socialize. The world is a better place because of my daughter. I am glad to help ensure that she is safe and sound.

Happy 4th of July!!

Well, another year has rolled around and in a few days it will be time again to celebrate the 4th of July. This has always been one of my favorite holidays as I love to see the fireworks go off and explode in the sky! It’s also a great day to cookout and spend time with the family.

This year we plan to go watch the big fireworks display given at a local park. My only worry is that traffic will be bad and parking is always a problem. I hope we can find a good spot not to far away from the park. Anyway, I am sure we will have a good time as usual. I hope everyone else has a great time as well and remember to be safe!

Every House

Every house that I know of has one room that is always used. That room would be the kitchen. It always seems to be one of the most central locations for people to cluster. That’s why I think it’s important to ensure that it is decorated nicely in order to make the house a home. Recently, we decided to install wine glass racks in our kitchen in order to make it look nicer.

One problem that we had in our kitchen was a lack of space. We found that we could squeeze out a little more room by taking advantage of a hanging wine glass rack. We got all the glasses off the shelf and out of the way. That gave us other opportunities to use the space we made available. Not only that, it has enhanced the look of our kitchen.

We were very happy with the results we had in the kitchen and so we thought we would try it in the basement. We have a den in the basement that has a small bar. We thought that adding bar glass racks would help our décor there as well. I am glad to say that it did and now our bar looks great. We had a small party recently and everyone liked the way it looked. I guess we will be able to throw a few more parties now, knowing that we have what it takes!

Girly Things

Sometimes it is nice to step back and appreciate the girls for being girls. When you grow up with sisters, you probably take a lot of things for ranted. Then when you  just around a lot of guys, like in a college dorm, you start to understand that girls do a lot of nice things and you start to miss them.

I like the way girls fuss with their hair and makeup. I especially like nail polish on their fingers and toes. And they smell nice. I would much rather breathe deep and take in a nice floral fragrance from a girl than the smell of a dorm room with a bunch of guys dirty clothes, leftover food and stale smoke.

The House, Our Home

The wife and I have been working to fix up the old homestead. We have had a wonderful time working together on various projects around the house. This year, we have concentrated a lot of our effort on the outside of the house including getting our lawn and gardens into shape. We think that the outside of the house is just as important as the inside. We have worked hard to find ways to improve the view of the house from the street.

One thing we are really happy about is the addition of an address plaque. We put the plague by the street and surrounded it with plants. We also added some rocks and figurines around it. It looks great and makes it easy to find our house. We didn’t know about home address plaques before, but now that we do, we are glad to have found one that fits our style.

One of our neighbors commented on the plaque and asked for more information about it. I told him to get on the internet and type in address plaques and he would find a place to get one for himself. I am sure that over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be seeing one in front of his house as well. While I am sure that our house will never be perfect, I am glad that we made this one fine addition.

Great Jobs

There are many things I like about my job, but one of the best things is that I get to travel all over the country. The only problem with that is that it can be boring when you are stuck in a strange city with no-one to talk to. That’s why I was glad to find out about a site that can get you cheap seats. They were able to help me find tickets to some events like the New York Ranger Tickets I was able to purchase.

There was another time when I was able to find the hard to get Toyota Center Tickets so that I could view one of the WNBA games that was held that night. I certainly enjoyed that show and still remember it to this day. I had a great time and can’t wait to see the girls play again.

The best time I had was when I was able to score Ohio State Buckeyes Football Tickets. I got a great seat near the field and saw all the action. My friends were jealous and they all wished that they could come too. I guess that some jobs are better than others and I am glad that my job is a good one. I hope that you will take advantage of this great website whenever you are able to travel out of town!

Paying A Debt

Since the kids will be out of school in a couple of weeks, it’s time to pay off a debt. I had told my children that if they got good grades I would take them on a vacation to wherever they wanted to go. As you can imagine, the kids did their part and now its time to do mine. The only decision left was where to take them. It wasn’t long before I knew the answer when I saw their computer on a page about resorts in Myrtle Beach.

I have taken the kids there before and we had a great time. They both love the water and playing in the sandy beach. I also know that many of their friends have plans to visit the beach as well. It seems to be a popular destination for all the kids at their school. It’s also a great destination for adults as well. I was checking out their golf packages and was very impressed with the values I found there.

My wife is all for the idea as she enjoys the beaches as well. She likes to read her books while lying in the sun and working on her tan. She also likes to window shop along the many stores that are in the area. I found out she was looking online for more information about the area. I am sure that we will all have a good time on our vacation this year.

A House Is a Home

We are always looking for ways to improve our house. One of the main features of any home is its furniture. Anyone who walks through the door will make an instant decision about the owners. The style of the furniture in a home tells a lot about the occupants and the way they like to live. That’s why it’s important to us to have contemporary furniture in order to tell people a little about ourselves.

My wife and I were looking to improve our standard of living. One easy way of doing this was to purchase new furniture. We wanted to redo our bedroom and were deciding what to do. We looked around the market and decided we knew what we were looking for. We both agreed that having modern bedroom furniture would be the right thing for us.

We also knew that we would have to upgrade our children’s room. Since the rooms were a little smaller than we would like, we wanted to save some space. We thought that by utilizing platform beds, we could do just that. We were right and now our kids have a lot more space for their toys and clothes. I am glad we made the decision to improve our home as we feel much better about the place.

Happy Birthday to My Cousin

Birthdays are not a big deal to me. After all, once you hit 18 you have it all – so what’s the big deal now? But, in my family, we make a big deal out of birthdays. We always have a party on the actual day – my mom will not put off the party until the weekend or a convenient day – it HAS to be on your birthday.

So, I know that my cousin Monica is having her birthday today. And since she is out of town for the big convention,we can’t have her party tonight. I guess this time it will have to wait a few extra days.

So, sorry you are not here to celebrate, but hope you have a Happy Birthday anyway, Monica!
