Girls and Fun

In this day and age, it can be hard to have a daughter. My daughter is at an age when she is still learning about the world and all the things it holds. One thing that she enjoys is using the internet. While I think the internet is great, there are some things on it that I don’t want her to see. That’s why I was glad when she found a site that had girl games on it. These are games specifically for younger girls.

I like the site because it has things on it that interest her. One of the most popular girl games she likes is playing dress up. This is where she has a character that can try on different clothes. She plays it for hours on end and it keeps her busy. Some games even allow her to go shopping and that is good as it doesn’t cost her any money.

Some of the other girl games that she plays are makeover or cooking. Sometimes she has friends over and they play together. I like the fact that she and her friends can have some good clean fun. Raising a daughter is very hard, but it’s nice to know that there are some sites out there to help with the process.

Trade wars

The U.S. and China have been battling for the leadership in world trade over the last decade. Many American congressmen and women believe that china has not been acting fairly because of their money policies that undervalue the Yen. This is costing American jobs and is unfair to Chinas own workforce.

Though America has long resisted imposing duties on foreign goods, this is currently being considered as an option. I think our country should have the right to impose duties on Chinese goods to even out the playing field.

Shopping online

One thing my wife loves to do is shop. While it may be great for her, it can be a little exasperating for me. I don’t like hanging around in some mall while she tries to make up her mind on whether she wants a blue curtain or the red one. That’s why I was glad when I found a site called shopwiki.com. It has kept her busy and has kept me out of the mall.

Shopping online has many advantages. The first of which is you don’t have to drag your husband to the mall to pick out Home Accessories. She can go on the computer and spend her hours dreaming about which Comforters she wants to buy. It has been a life saver for me as I don’t have to wait around while she chooses.

I must admit that I have taken advantage of the site a few times myself. When I wanted to improve the way my desk was set up, I used the site to find the Desk Lamps that I wanted. I just made sure that my wife didn’t find out that I was shopping. I guess we all have our likes and dislikes, but I’m glad that shop wiki is saving me many hours of hanging out in the mall.

Wal-Mart

In these difficult economic times, many companies are thinking outside the box for ways to improve their bottom line. One company that is trying to do this is Wal-Mart. They are reported to be looking for locations that will be a lot smaller than the typical store we are used to. They are scaling down.

The company is hoping to reach more people by having a number of smaller stores in certain areas. In this way, they can specialize their products more efficiently and reach a broader number of customers. I’m glad they are thinking ahead and wish them luck.

Money makers

The economy has been down for awhile now and some people are thinking it will do a lot better over the next year. I have been trying to find something I can do to help it along. I thought I would try to make a few extra bucks by using my assets and making a run at Stock Trading. I have always been interested in it and thought I would throw my hat in the ring.

Tigers are high

The BBC reported that a television crew spotted a population of tigers that live in the remote nation of Bhutan in the Himalayas. What was most interesting was the fact that the tigers were living at such a high altitude. One female tiger was found at an altitude of 4,100 meters.

The findings have raised hopes for many conservationists that are concerned about lost habitat for the animals. Knowing that they can survive in such a habitat has raised hopes that their numbers can be raised in the wild.

Help!!!

A funny thing happened the other day. My daughter came home from school and seemed a little upset. She was freaking out about the fact that she didn’t know the answer too many of the Math Questions that she had been assigned for her homework. I know she is fairly intelligent and it was a surprise to me. I offered to take a look at the problems and see if I could help.

The funny thing was that I didn’t have a clue how to figure out the answers. I knew a little about the subject of Prime numbers, but I had no clue what the answers were. I figured that we would need a little help and decided to find an answer online. It was fortunate that I found a site called tutornext.com. They specialize in helping people like my daughter.

They work online which makes it convenient for her. That means she doesn’t have to ride somewhere to see a tutor in person. That saves a lot in gas, time, and money. Fix it up!

One thing my wife and I enjoy doing is working around the house. We are both hands on people and like to do things ourselves. One project that we were finally ready to take on was to install Ceiling Fans in some of the rooms. We felt that it would be nice to have something stir the air when the rooms were a little stale. We also knew that it would increase the value of the house if we decided to sell.

The only problem that we encountered was that we found it difficult to find the right Ceiling Fan for us. We shopped at a few stores, but the fans there were not what we were looking for. We also wanted to be sure that the fan we bought was of high quality and would last. Finally, we found a place online that we both liked.

The last forest

There is great concern in the country of Poland. Poland is home to one of the last primeval forests. The problem is that some believe that illegal logging has been taking place. The giant trees have been seen lying along dirt trials waiting to be transported to the mills.

A complaint has been filed by ecologists with the European Commission. The hope to stop the logging until studies can be made. The giant forest is home to many rare species that are found nowhere else. I hope the forest can be saved.

Red Wine

New studies are always coming out. Once in a while there is a surprise. This happened to me when I heard that those who drink a moderate amount of alcohol every day outlive those who abstain on average. Red wine is the drink that experts prefer.

For those who drink 1 to 3 drinks a day, the benefits of wine are clear. It reduces stress and wine has many healthful benefits. A drink or two after work tends to calm people down and helps them ease into social situations. I think I’ll have a drink of my own!
