Smokey Austin

Remember how I said that most of Texas is having problems with wildfires? Well, it turns out that my high school buddy, who lives in Austin, is having problems with this exact thing. He works for Dell computers, which is in the Austin area. Actually, it is up in Round Rock, but that’s part of Austin. And the smoke from the fires is causing problems for everyone – besides the threat of having your house or ranch or business torched to the ground.

A really big problem  for homeowners and landlords is cleanup after a fire or dealing with smoke damage. Smoke gets on everything – even dishes and food stored inside kitchen cabinets. It covers the walls, the ceiling, light fixtures, curtains and gets in carpet really bad. He’s going to have to get to come out and help clean up his house after the fires are put out for good.

He says th smoke damage is so bad that he can’t even sleep in his own home. He had to go get a motel room for a couple of night. Now, that is really bad if you can’t even sleep in your own house. If it were me, I think I’d take a week off and go somewhere else. But he says that he can’t take off any time right now because its the start of the second quarter and they have to make their numbers. When its safe to go back home, he’ll get Carpet Cleaning Round Rock to come get his carpets cleaned while he scrubs the rest of the house with Dawn dishwashing detergent to get rid of the smoke film.

Traveling is Good and Bad

One thing about my line of work is that I travel many months out of the year. This means I spend a lot of time away from home and it can be difficult to cope. Since I go to many new places every year, it can be hard to find people to hang out with while I’m gone. That’s why I use the internet sometimes to find the hottest spots in town. When I went to New York City, I found some great places to go.

Another aspect of travel is finding a place to eat. It can be pot luck when looking for a good place to go. The internet is handy for finding the kind of Restaurants I feel comfortable eating in. I have tried many places and it’s good when you find one you like. There is nothing like a good meal along with good company.

I think one of the most important things to have when traveling is good Hotels. I like to sleep after a hard day’s work as getting my rest is important for the next day. Living on the road can be a long and arduous experience, but it’s not that bad when you have somewhere good to lie down. Travel can be both a bit everything. It’s good and it’s bad.

New Year’s Eve in Times Square

Since I live in the suburbs of northern New Jersey, I always go to Times Square for New Year’s Eve. I make sure to take the day off from work and leave my house by one in the afternoon. I bundle up because being in New York City for an entire day in December is so cold. Some years I swear that it feels like icicles form on my face. Once I am dressed for the occasion, and the weather, I feed the animals, set my home security alarm from Security choice and head out for the train station. The ride into the city on the train is always exciting. People are in such a festive mood and groups of people will start singing and dancing. That is not something you usually see on a train into New York City. New Year’s Eve is my favorite holiday just for this very reason. The joy of the holiday season becomes infectious and everyone is just trying to have the best possible time. I usually meet up with a group of people at Penn Station and we have a day full of activities setup. I like to walk past Macy’s and the famous Christmas display which is usually still up. Then we all head to Times Square to get ready for the ball drop. The countdown is my favorite part.

Starting out

Every now and then, someone makes a big change in their life. This is happening to my aunt who has decided to make a life-changing decision. She has decided to remarry and will be moving to Texas with her new husband. Since I like her and her husband, I wished the new couple well and asked if there was anything I could do to help.

Of course the new couple will need a place to live when they arrive. They asked if I could help them find some Dallas Homes for Sale. While this was not my specialty, I thought I would see what I could do. After a bit of thinking, I went online to see what info I could find and came back with some interesting results. The best part is that it can be done from your home by going onto the internet. This gave my aunt a good head start on her home search and she thanked me very much. I was just glad I could help these newly weds start their new life together.

European travel

Terrorists around the world have been busy. They are constantly working to find ways to make our world less free. Their latest move has been to begin making plans to use their terror tactics on people who travel in Europe. Several countries have announced warnings about European travel.

The warnings have been given as new evidence from the Pakistani intelligence service has indicated that terror attacks on civilians are forthcoming. People are being warned to be more careful about their personal security. I hope everyone takes heed of the warnings.

Moving Away

Every once in a while, a big event occurs in someone’s life. This is happening to my cousin Sarah who is newly married. She and her husband Dan have decided that Moving To California is what they want to do. He wants to break into the tech world and California is where the action is in that industry. The only problem is that they live in Virginia and that’s a long way from there.

One thing that we had to do immediately was to find the best California Moving Companies so that we could make a good decision on which one would be the best for us. There are so many companies out there that it can be quite a task to find the right one. Luckily, we found a site on the internet called movers.com that helped us find the best California Movers there are.

Another thing we found out while on the site was that there are many California International Movers based in that state. That way, if they ever decide to move out of the country, they can take advantage of the site for that purpose. Moving can be a big hassle unless you are prepared for it. It’s good to know that there are professional companies out there that are experienced in that area. These newlyweds will need all the help they can get.

Vacation Dreams

Everybody loves to play games. We all have our favorites and I have mine as well. My game is golf. Some may say that is kind of silly, but I love to be out in the sun and challenging myself in a physical way. That’s why I wanted to be sure that when I went on vacation, I would be close to the courses I wanted to play. I found the perfect spot when I went online. It was there that I discovered where I wanted to spend my vacation.

The first thing that is important to me when deciding where I wanted to go was my family. I had to be sure that everyone would have a good time. I wanted to ensure that the Myrtle Beach Accommodations we selected would be first class with something for everyone. I know my kids love the beach so I knew this would be the place for us.

A Good Life

A good life is one that always keeps you interested. One thing that will keep you on your toes is travel. That’s one reason why I like my job so much. I get to go to many places and it is usually enjoyable. Recently, I was sent on a trip to Dallas, TX. I have been there before and have always had a great time. The thing about this trip was that I was able to do something just a little bit different.

A meeting that I was supposed to attend was canceled and I had some free time. A friend of mine and I decided to go out on the town and do some sightseeing. We happened upon one of the Dallas Pawn Shops that was on the strip and thought we’d take a look. I was amazed at all the items they had for sale and some of the items were really neat.

One item that caught my eye was a classic guitar. I have always been interested in music and have always wanted to learn to play. The price was fairly affordable and so I thought I would take the plunge and buy it. I am so glad I did because now I am learning to play and having a great time doing it. I had to make another stop on this trip and so I decided to look in some Houston Pawn Shops to see what else I could find. All in all, it was a trip that I’ll always remember.

Long Haul

I have heard of people doing amazing things in order to keep a job they like, but this one takes the cake. Michael Hanley lives in Wisconsin, but he works in Kansas. His General Motors job was moved and he felt it was necessary to go the extra mile to keep the job he had. He now drives 530 miles every weekend in order to visit his home and children.

It’s another 530 miles back to work and the trip can be heart wrenching. Leaving his wife and kids behind has got to be hard for anyone. Keeping his health insurance was a major factor in his decision to keep the job he had. It’s a shame that one man has to go so far to keep his family fed.

Using time wisely

There are many ways to spend your time. You can do the usual household items like cleaning or cooking, or things you need to get done for work. There are other times when you need to do something for yourself. I was thinking that I really wanted to take my family on a getaway in order to relax and renew. Whenever this thought gets into my head, I usually look toward a Myrtle Beach Accommodation to be the place where I can achieve this goal.
