Acing the test

My daughter has entered into her first year of college. We are all so proud of her and we hope she does well. She is very smart in many ways and has pretty good study habits. The only area of weakness she has is in mathematics. She struggles at times with the subject and we have had to get her help from time to time. It’s worked out well so far as we found a great way for her to get the help she needs.

When she was in high school, she would go after class to a tutor. The problem was that it interfered with her work schedule. She would also miss the bus so we would have to drive her home. It was inconvenient. We found a site online called tutorvista.com that allowed her to get help on her own time. She could do her homework at night when she had time.

Make no mistake; the subject of math can be difficult. Trying to find an Acute triangle can be hard. There are also other tasks such as working with a Line segment or Indices that can become very confusing. With this new tool at her disposal, she is quickly becoming proficient in the subject of math. I know she will go on to have a great future now that she can ace her math tests.

Seeking Answers

We spend a lot of time in our lives seeking answers. That’s why it’s important that we have the best tools to find the answers we need. I found a great tool for my daughter to use when she needs Math help. It’s a website called tutornext.com that provides the expert help she desires. The can provide the individual attention that is sometimes necessary to learn difficult subjects.

My daughter is generally very smart. She usually only has trouble with the subject of math. The best thing about using the site is that instead of driving to her school and trying to find a teacher to help, she uses the Online Tutor from the website. It is so much more convenient for her as she can do this from her own room and in her own time.

I think that learning is important and I want my daughter to get ahead in life. Building her math skills will help her do that. I know that many of her fellow students use an Online Math Tutor to help themselves. The price is very minimal for the amount of help you receive. All in all, I think the whole thing has worked out very well so far and I believe it will continue to be the best way to help my daughter get ahead.

I’m Good!

Every once in awhile, I’m really good; what I mean is that sometimes I can solve a problem for somebody else when they really need it. I was able to help my nephew who was struggling at school. He was coming home needing Math answers for his math class and there was no one who could help him. It was lucky that I found out about the problem as I knew the perfect solution.

It can be difficult to get into a good college these days. You have to have the required amount of good grades to get accepted. If your grades are slipping in just one area, you may be denied a spot at your favorite college. That’s why it was important that my nephew receive Precalculus help in order to make the grade. I knew of a great website that could offer a solution.

The site is called tutorvista.com and they offer help in many subjects. One of the subjects they specialize in happens to be Calculus help. It can all be done online at your convenience. I also like that it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to pay for it. My nephew has been working with the tutors on the site and has raised his knowledge of math to a much higher level. It’s good when a plan comes together and another problem is solved!

Prospects

When my Uncle Charlie told me that his son was now in his junior year at a local college, I couldn’t believe how time had passed. It seems that only a few years ago his boy was a toddler. Any way, we got to talking about how his grades were at school when he told me the good news. It seems the boy is doing well thanks to an Online Tutor that has been helping him.

Times have changed some since I went to school and I hear it is a lot tougher. In order to succeed, you must have a good grasp of certain subjects. Math is always one subject that you must excel in and getting Math help can make all the difference in your grades. Charlie’s boy has taken advantage of every opportunity to increase his knowledge in the field of mathematics.

Charlie told me that his son found a secret that has helped him through his college years. He has used an Online Math Tudor to help him through the rough spots. He saves a lot of time by going online and has found the service reliable. Now that the boy will be graduating soon, we are all excited about his prospects. I am sure he’ll do well in the future and find his way to the top.

Amazing!!!

Mom said they got about 6 inches of snow and there was no school Monday or Tuesday.  They had a 2 hour delay on Wednesday.  All we got was about an inch, maybe two but nothing like they got at home.  I think that is too funny.  They got more snow in that one night than they got added all together all winter long.  Amazing.

We have had a whole much more snow here and there than they have but this time we dodged the bullet and it hit them.  Mom said cars were in ditches everywhere.  That’s the good thing about living up here.  People actually know how to drive in snow unlike back home.  Heck they have more accidents when it rains there than we do when it snows up here.  No they can’t drive very well back home.

Slipped and fell and broke my cell phone

Up here, there’s the chance of snow and or ice somewhere.  Well I was in a hurry to get to class, slipped and busted my a$$.  Of course I landed on my back side and rolled over on the side that had my cell phone on it without thinking.  My cell phone fell out of the case and when I got up, I stepped on it and broke the darn thing.  Now I have to go to Verizon and get another one.

I think I have the insurance that will give me a new phone.  I hope I do anyway because if I don’t, then every bit of the good tips I got the other night will go to getting a new phone.  Such is my luck!!!!

My car!!!!

I was leaving campus to go to work and some idiot ran a red light and hit me right in the rear fender.  I was so mad that I had to sit in my car and count to about 50 I think it was.  I wanted to get out and rip him a new one for being so stupid but then I saw it was a young mother and she was coming up to me with a baby in her arms to see if I was okay.  I think I scared her when I didn’t hop right out.

I felt so sorry for her because she was crying her eyes out and kept asking me if I was okay and if I was sure I was okay.  She said that her baby had been crying and crying and she was headed to her mothers.  She had taken her eyes off of the road to glance back at the baby and see if she could soothe him and that must be when the light changed.  Her car wasn’t much and I bet she was struggling just to make ends meet.  I felt like a dog for pulling out without looking better myself.

I told her that I would tell the cops that I pulled out to make a right turn and didn’t see her and it would be my fault then and not hers.  I figured I could afford the raise in insurance better than she could.  Besides, that way, my insurance company would fix her car too.  I didn’t know if she had enough insurance to fix her car or if she had a high deductible so she could afford insurance at all.

Yeah, Yeah, that was my good deed for the day.  Now to explain it to my parents.  They won’t be mad though because we have Nationwide insurance and they’re really easy to deal with on things like this.  I had to help her out.  If that had been my mother when I was a baby, I would like to think that there was someone out there that would have done the same thing for her.  Besides, we’re supposed to help each other.

Have you heard of WorldVision.org?

Have you ever heard of an organization called WorldVision.org?   I just found out about it and honestly haven’t had time to really check them out but as with most organizations that promise to help, you really should see just how much what ever you donate actually goes to the people it’s supposed to help.

From what I understand, this organization will help children and or families in the country of your choice, even here in the United States.  You can choose if you want to purchase a gift like a goat for $75 to help a family have milk, cheese and yogurt.  Or you can donate $35 to provide $490 worth of clothing for children.  Just $25 will give help to sexually exploited young girls.

They offer a ‘Sponsor a child’ option too with what ever amount you can pay each month.  You can choose if you want to sponsor a boy or girl, what country, affected by HIV/AIDS or not and even what month and day they were born if you like.  Or if you would rather, you can just donate money.  They will show you what your donation can purchase for the needy and the hungry.

Like I said in the beginning, I have not fully checked them out but I thought maybe you might be interested in helping others and if I at least get you to check into this site, it might make you check into others too.  As I learn more about this organization, I’ll let you know, Okay?  If you know something about them or find out something, drop me a comment so I can let others know if they are as good as they sound or if they need to look elsewhere.

See this is what gets me!

They’re talking on my local news about what in the world to do for the homeless population that seems to keep growing and growing.  How in the world are we going to meet their needs?  I’m just a kid in college and I have a few ideas but what does a college kid know?

I know that I have seen just in the past two months, the city tear down two buildings that could have been made into great places to actually give some real help to homeless people.  The reality of it is most people are not homeless by choice.  Some are though because that’s all they know anymore.  Not all homeless are alcoholics or drug addicts either.  Yes some of them are.  Not all homeless have mental illness but some do.

So why not take these buildings and turn them into real help for each group of the homeless.  One of the buildings used to be a three story small factory.  There’s enough room on the bottom floor to turn part of it into a thrift store and another part into something like a McDonald’s or a cafeteria type restaurant and then another part that could have been turned into maybe a training facility.  Each of those places can help the homeless learn a new job skill, give them a temporary job to help them feel that they are earning their food and shelter

On the second floor there was enough room to make several units for single mothers and their children.  Maybe even a daycare for the people that live there so they could work.  The third floor would make several units for families.  This type of place will not be for those with mental, alcohol, or drug problems.  This would be for the people that have found themselves homeless because of the economy or factories shutting down.

Of course I don’t have all the answers but I do have ideas.  They may not be very good ones but maybe someone will read this and it will grow into an idea that will work.  I sure hope so.
