Where I’ll be

It seems that everyone I know enjoys the summer weather. My family is the same and we spend a lot of time in our backyard. When I get home from work, I like to spend a few hours relaxing outdoors and spending time with the kids. Our biggest joy is catching a few rays on our outdoor furniture. Our patio is nice and big and we get some shade as well as some sun.

After I relax a little, I like to ensure that my garden is doing well. I do a little weeding and watering and general maintenance. Most things I can do by hand, but it’s also nice that I have a nice selection of Garden tools. They make it easy to do the tasks I need to complete. After I feel the garden is in good shape, I generally start to feel those old hunger pains start to come. That’s when I’m on my game.

One thing I pride myself on is my ability to grill. I love being in charge of the grill and handing out the foods I cook. It’s a good thing I have a wide selection of barbecue tools to help me make the best hamburgers you’ll ever eat. I’ll be really sorry when the summer is gone and old man winter comes along. Until then, you’ll know where to find me!

Silly Bandz???

I have lived a long time, but I never heard of a Silly Bandz until now. Kids enjoy wearing these silly bracelets at school and they are catching on nation wide. The problem is that they are being banned by schools as they say they are a distraction. It’s become a battle between students and teachers.

Silly Bandz were first marketed a couple of years ago by Robert Croak. They have caught on around the nation and are sported by kids who love their looks. They are even becoming a tradable item. I think that teachers should let the kids express themselves and banning a bracelet will only cause kids to believe that parents are the enemy.

National Park Quarters

I saw that the U.S. mint is introducing some new quarters. The program is called the America the Beautiful Quarters Program and features national parks on the coins. 56 parks will be honored in all. The first five coins were introduced today to be followed by the remaining coins through 2021.

I believe this is a pretty good idea. National Parks play an important role in our lives and should be honored as such. Some of the parks featured include Hot Springs National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and Yosemite National Park. I’ll be glad to collect as many of these coins as I can!

A Good Life

A good life is one that always keeps you interested. One thing that will keep you on your toes is travel. That’s one reason why I like my job so much. I get to go to many places and it is usually enjoyable. Recently, I was sent on a trip to Dallas, TX. I have been there before and have always had a great time. The thing about this trip was that I was able to do something just a little bit different.

A meeting that I was supposed to attend was canceled and I had some free time. A friend of mine and I decided to go out on the town and do some sightseeing. We happened upon one of the Dallas Pawn Shops that was on the strip and thought we’d take a look. I was amazed at all the items they had for sale and some of the items were really neat.

One item that caught my eye was a classic guitar. I have always been interested in music and have always wanted to learn to play. The price was fairly affordable and so I thought I would take the plunge and buy it. I am so glad I did because now I am learning to play and having a great time doing it. I had to make another stop on this trip and so I decided to look in some Houston Pawn Shops to see what else I could find. All in all, it was a trip that I’ll always remember.

Superman

It is sometimes very interesting how much people will pay for rare items. One example of this came this week when an unidentified man paid a record one million dollars for a No 1 Action Comic book featuring Superman on the cover. The magazine is from 1938 and cost 10 cents when it was new.

The seller of the magazine has also remained anonymous. The sale took place on an auction site called ComicConnect.com. The book was worth so much because its condition was rated an 8. That means “Very Fine”. The previous record for a comic book sale was $317,000.

Looking Forward

The cold weather this winter is really getting on my nerves. While it’s true that there are many good things about winter, there also comes a time when I am ready for it to be over. That’s why I have started looking forward to summer, and even more specifically a vacation! Since it’s never too early to start planning a vacation, I was looking at the different Myrtle Beach Accommodations that can be found online. I thought I would get a head start on finding the right place.

One of my passions is playing golf. No matter where I go, proximity to local golf courses is a consideration for me. Lucky for me, I knew that by reserving a suite at a Myrtle Beach Hotel, I would have access to numerous golf courses. I guess my only problem with that will be choosing which course to play!

The whole thing has gotten me excited about this year’s vacation. I am looking forward to a few days on the beach with my family. The kids can’t wait to go either; they know they will have the time of their lives. I also know that by having a Myrtle Beach Accommodation, I will just about be guaranteed a good time. I hope the winter will end soon so that we can go!

Scorpions

I have always loved music and I have my own favorite bands. That’s why I was saddened to hear that the band called the Scorpions will be ending their careers. The band announced that they will release a final album called “Sting in the Tail” and will make a final tour. I will miss their music. I hope that they will know how much joy they have brought to millions of fans who have enjoyed their music over the years!

Shaping up!

One of the New Years resolutions I made this year was to keep myself in better physical shape. I would not say that I am out of shape, but I know I could do better if I really tried. As always, I looked to the internet to find ways to achieve this goal. During my search for the program that would fit me best, I ran across something interesting. It was called the Power 90 and I thought it might be what I was looking for. It’s a program that allows you to build up your body in 90 days and you can do it in your home.

Another program I found was called the Insanity Workout. This one was very extreme and would require that I be in fairly good shape to start with. I’m not sure if I would be ready for that just yet, but it sounded like something I would keep in mind for the future. I kept on looking for the program that fit me best.

After all the research I had done, I think I have found the best solution. There was another program called the 10 Minute Trainer. After some initial time investment, I would be able to spend about ten minutes a day on my body. This sounded good to me as I always seem to be pressed for time. I’ll let you all know how my workouts are coming and maybe one day I’ll post a few pictures of my awesome muscles.

Shows and the Arts

One of the benefits/misfortunes of my job is the amount of travel that goes with it. While travel can be a nuisance at times, there are other times when it is not so bad. One thing I like is the ability to check out new places that I have never been. My most recent experience is when I bought Joe Louis Arena Tickets. I was able to see the Detroit Red Wings Hockey team play against the Washington Capitals. It was a great experience for me.

Another great time I had was when I scored a couple of Minskoff Theater Tickets. While I can’t say that I am a big theater fan, I turned out that I really enjoyed the show. I am always open to new experiences and this was one that I really enjoyed. I think that these higher arts have a reputation for being boring, even though I know that is not always the case.

I think that my father instilled in me some reverence for the higher arts. I remember when he came home with Ford Center For The Performing Arts Tickets and took me to a show. I think that has stuck with me and I wanted to give that experience to my own children. Now that I have done so, I hope they will learn to appreciate the knowledge and skill it takes to put on such a show.

Pleasure

One of the best things you can do in life is to go on vacation. There is something about leaving everything behind and taking some time for yourself. I was lucky enough to do just that recently when I booked a room for my family at an Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotel. I was glad for the opportunity as I really needed a break from the stress of work.

I had been planning a vacation for some time now and was trying to decide where to go. I wanted some input from the kids and they were positive that they wanted to stay in one of the Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotels that abound on the shore. I usually take their advice on what is the best place to go and they were right again. My wife also liked the suggestion and so we were all in agreement.

There are so many positive things about a Myrtle Beach Hotel that it’s hard to list them all. I don’t know if it’s the area or the sunny beaches. Whatever it is, it’s a wonderful vacation. There is much to see and do and there is also something for everyone. The kids can play on the shore while the adults find other things to do such as shopping and recreation. I am sure you would like to experience the pleasure we did and I know you will if you go!
