Tuna pays big

The Japanese has always been known for their love of a great tasting fish. This was once again made true by the actions of one Japanese restaurateur. He paid a record amount of money for one blue fin tuna that cost him about $736,000 dollars. He had the winning bid at an auction at the Tsukiji fish market.

The owner of the restaurant paid the record breaking price saying that he wanted his customers to enjoy the fish. These fish are ready to be put on the endangered species list and are on the verge of being fished to extinction. I hope his customers enjoy the meal.

The market for gold has been great over the last several years. The bad economy as well as world unrest has led many investors to invest their money in gold. The price has remained high since many people are interested in keeping their money safe. Gold has traditionally been a stable market.

Lately, some have been fooled into believing that gold is no longer a safe way to invest money. I believe that they are wrong. I think that those who sell gold because of short-term reasons are wasting an opportunity to make a lot of money as well as being assured that they will have wealth when all other forms of money sink.

One thing that nearly everybody wants is for everyone to have a great Christmas. This usually involves finding the perfect gift for someone who is special in your life. Taking the exams

There has been much discussion about the economy lately. Trying to plan for the future has been difficult at best. That’s why when my daughter was trying to figure out what field of work she wanted to enter; we decided to look into all of the options. One of these was that she might want to become a tax preparer. It’s a field that is guaranteed to have steady work over the years.

My daughter has always been good with numbers and did well in her accounting classes. She also has an eye for detail. That would make it easy for her to think about getting a tax preparer certification. All she needs to do is a little studying and she would be on her way. If you speak only English, how do you expect to function in a world that is becoming increasingly small? Not in physical size, but in terms of communications and awareness of the quality of life experienced by all our brothers and sisters who share this planet with us.

If a person from the local Television station was doing “Man on the Street” interviews with a camera crew and he asked you to tell him the price of gold what would you say? I would have to be honest and tell him that I have no idea what today’s gold prices could possibly be. I do know a little about gold, like it is the purest form of money and cannot be devalued by Governments like the American dollar can be devalued.

Twice a day, a group of bankers in London meet and decide to announce the current gold spot to the world. They make the announcement by telephone and the rest of the world makes their investment decisions based on that announcement. The five banks involved in making this twice daily decision are World Heavyweights in the banking industry. I know you have heard of most if not all of them, including Barclays Capital, Deutsche Bank HSBC Scotia-Mocatta and Societe Generale.
