Welcome Danica

It seems that the NASCAR family will welcome a new driver next year. While that is not always unusual, it will be when fans learn it will be a woman. Danica Patrick who hails from the Indy racing league will attempt to compete with the big boys by entering the ARCA Series. She hopes to eventually earn a license that would allow her to compete in the NASCAR Series. I am sure the all her fans are waiting to see her make the big time and we all wish her the best of luck.

Be Careful!!

I was looking at the news when I saw a little article that gave me a surprise. It said that Thanksgiving is the most dangerous time of year to be driving. I always thought that the New Years holiday would be the worst, but I was wrong. I guess that people are so aware that driving on New Years Eve is a problem and so they are extra careful. Thanksgiving has no such stigma.

I hope that everyone will take this warning to heart and be extra safe today. The holidays are a time of cheer and we don’t want to see any unnecessary tragedies. So please be careful today and tonight and drive with this thought in mind.

Confidence with cars

I happened to get a call from my niece the other day that lives in California. We ended up talking for a long time and caught up on many things. One of the problems she was having was with her car. She said that it had been running funny and was giving her trouble. Luckily, she uses repairpal.com to help her with her car problems.

Athena used the site to find the best San Francisco auto repair shop for her. The site has reviews of the best shops that ensures that you get a good deal. They also give you estimates of what the price should be so that you can compare what you are being charged for the job. They have a few more handy features as well.

Athena has a honda accord, after having the vehicle looked at; they found that the timing belt had gone bad. She was able to get the belt replaced at a reasonable cost by a reputable dealer. That makes all the difference in the world. Athena is happy to be on the road again, thanks to repairpal and she saved a few bucks as well. I am glad that she is so smart and I think she gets it from me!

Tickets

I was very unfortunate the other day to receive a ticket. I made an illegal u-turn while trying to get into the shopping mall. I won’t cry to much as I know it was my fault. The bad part is that when I went to pay the ticket online, the site would not take my ticket number. I am unsure of how to proceed with paying the ticket and may have to break out the checkbook!

Choosing

There are a few things in life that we take for granted. That is of course until they break down or are lost. One of these things is our cars. I have been fortunate to own many cars in my life and have had pretty good luck with them. Unfortunately, my current car is on its last leg. That’s why I decided to look into purchasing a new or used one.

The problem with cars is that there are so many different types of them. There is a bewildering variety of cars, trucks, and vans to choose from. It can be a daunting task to figure out which one is best for you. Luckily, I found a site called thecarconnection.com that can help. They have reviews of nearly every car you can think of. One such car is the ford fiesta. I was very interested in this car and found some great information on it.

I looked at a number of other cars as well. The cadillac is very enticing and I am seriously thinking of getting one. Their newest models are very nice and I think it would be a good investment as their resale values stay fairly high. Of course, I also have to think of the kids. Since we seem to be a shuttle service for their many activities, I thought we may be better off with one of the mini vans that are available.

While all of these cars and vans are nice, my heart still cries out for my favorite car in the world. The chevy camaro! I have always been partial to the way it looks and I love to drive them. My first car was a camaro and I’ve missed it ever since it’s been gone. Whatever happens, I am sure I’ll make the right decision for me and my family.

Keep up your car

One of the most important things in our lives today is our car. We can do nothing without it. That’s why it so imperative to keep it running properly. I ran across a few tips that will help to keep your car in tip-top shape. I thought I would share a few of these tips with you.

One thing that is really a must is keeping up with your oil. Be sure to set up a schedule for oil changes and stick to it. I know it can be a hassle. But it is absolutely necessary. The next one is easy. The air filter should be changed as needed. This will help improve your gas mileage considerably. Another good thing to keep an eye on is your transmission. If you ever see any red fluid under your car, be sure to have it checked out immediately!

I hope these tips will help you keep your car in top notch condition. Another thing I forgot to mention was the need to check your lights and make sure they work so you don’t get a ticket! Be safe while driving your vehicle and remember to buckle up!
