Way to go Wal-Mart

There is some good news for people who wish to eat healthier. The major chain of Wal-Mart has decided to push it’s suppliers to supply healthier foods. They want products with lower sodium as well as sugar. This has advocates of healthier eating very happy.

Wal-Mart is able to do this because they are a major seller of food items. Companies want their business and are willing to change their ways in order to keep their business. I think this is a great idea and I thank Wal-Mart for putting their foot down and improving the eating habits of Americans.

Stay Safe

I love using the internet and use it every chance I get. The only problem with that is that there are some people who try to take advantage of you. The world is full of people who will take advantage of you if they can. That’s why it’s important to take every precaution you can. One thing about going online is that you open yourself up to people who re not so nice.

One of the major problems with using the internet is that you open yourself up to identity theft. That’s why I take advantage of the IdentityHawk service whenever I can. They use many up-to-date tactics to thwart would be hackers from taking over your identity. I don’t want to seem alarming, but this is a serous business. It’s important to keep your personal information safe.

The good thing about the internet is that there are people who will help you stay safe. It is easy to find sites that will help you with identity theft protection. I like the feeling that me and my family are protected against all those who would do me harm. My children are important to me and I would never put them at risk. That’s why I suggest that everyone use sites like this to keep themselves safe.

AIG

In 2008, the U.S. government bailed out the giant AIG Corporation. The government lent the company over $182 billion dollars in order to keep it afloat. The good news is that the company is ready to start paying back the money it owes. The government owns about 1.6 billion shares in the company estimated to worth at least $80 billion dollars.

The better news is that the transaction is likely to net the U.S. taxpayers a profit of about $40 billion dollars. The feeling on Wall Street is that the company is now on a better foundation and will be profitable in the future. Taxpayers hope this is true and we will not have to go through this again.

Busy Life, But I Still Get to Watch What I Want

These days it is a rarity to actually be able to set down and enjoy the satellite TV from DirectStarTV.com that we have in our household. Between work, kids, chores, and everything else it is hard to get to watch TV at all some days. Then when we do actually set down, there is nothing good on. I used to think that TV was a waste of time. Over the years, I have really come to appreciate the fact that TV is a great way to relax. That is if there is something on that you love to watch. For me, I have always loved the show Loony Tunes. Yeah, I know it sounds a bit silly for a forty something male to still watch cartoons. However, this is just my little piece of childish fun in a world full of chaos. The only thing is, how often do you ever see this on. A few weeks ago my wife bought a DVR for my birthday. I did not quite get why at first but now I know. I can use my DVR to record my all time favorite show and then watch it at anytime of the day, or night, that I wish. This was probably the most thoughtful gift that I have ever received.

Stealthy China

One thing that has Americans worried is that the country of China is growing in power. Ever since the fall of Russia, China has been our main challenger to world domination. They are giving us a run for our money emotionally, financially, and physically. They have now come out with a new threat to our leadership.

China has recently tested out their new stealth fighters. This has meant that they are able to challenge the U.S. in the world of military power. Our two countries have been posturing for years and things are certain to come to a head in the future. I hope that diplomacy will win the day and we can learn to get along for the sake of the world.

One of my favorite things to watch on television

One of my favorite things to watch on television is anything sports. It is great to be able to watch sports in High Definition. I can’t believe the difference that you get when watching sports in high definition rather than just watching them on a regular television setting. I use my tvbydirect to watch all of my favorite sporting programs.

It is a great American tradition to turn on the sports every weekend. This is one of the traditions that I keep myself. It is something that I find to be pretty easy to do. I like to just sit around for hours on the weekend and unwind from the long work week. I don’t know what others do, but this is how I choose to spend my weekend. I feel that it helps me to stay in the loop with others who watch sports as well. We always have something that we can talk about when we go back to work on Mondays.

I would recommend watching as much high definition programming as possible to anyone who wants to enjoy television in the way that it should be enjoyed. Start by looking up what high definition programs are available to you in your area. This information can usually be found in TV guides, but you also can look this up on the internet if you wish.

The queen’s head

In London, some people are up in arms, or heads if you will. It seems that there is a bill before the parliament that could sell some parts of the Royal Postal Service to foreign buyers such as Germany or the Dutch. The sticking point is that the queen’s head may be cut off if this happens.

In 1967, a sculptor named Arnold Machin designed the stamp depicting the queen’s head. The stamp has been a mainstay of British stamps ever since. Some worry that the queens head stamp will no longer be available if the postal service is sold. Parliament will soon vote on a bill that will ensure the queens head stamp will remain wherever British stamps are made.

A New State

It would seem by now that everybody knows about my brother John. He recently moved to Texas with his wife Mable of twenty years. They decided to make a new start in life and john wanted to pursue his career in a place that was more suitable than home. They bought a place to live and were settling in nicely. Everything seemed to be going well.

John started his new company and everything started out well. The problem was that there are some differences in the law between the state of Texas and Virginia that John didn’t know about. This led to a legal entanglement with one of his customers. He needed to contact an Austin Business Litigation lawyer to help him figure out what to do. The matter is now nearly finished with and results were good. We were never really worried that much because we knew John was innocent. Stocks High or Low??

There was a piece in the news today that was talking about the higher stock prices lately. It seems that people are bullish again on stocks and are paying good prices for them. There is some debate though whether the higher margins on stocks will remain high or tumble.

Some experts predict that companies will soon have to pay more for their workers in order to keep up with demand. Others predict that stocks will remain high and maybe even rise. I guess knowing the right answers will make somebody very rich!!

New Year’s Eve in Times Square

Since I live in the suburbs of northern New Jersey, I always go to Times Square for New Year’s Eve. I make sure to take the day off from work and leave my house by one in the afternoon. I bundle up because being in New York City for an entire day in December is so cold. Some years I swear that it feels like icicles form on my face. Once I am dressed for the occasion, and the weather, I feed the animals, set my home security alarm from Security choice and head out for the train station. The ride into the city on the train is always exciting. People are in such a festive mood and groups of people will start singing and dancing. That is not something you usually see on a train into New York City. New Year’s Eve is my favorite holiday just for this very reason. The joy of the holiday season becomes infectious and everyone is just trying to have the best possible time. I usually meet up with a group of people at Penn Station and we have a day full of activities setup. I like to walk past Macy’s and the famous Christmas display which is usually still up. Then we all head to Times Square to get ready for the ball drop. The countdown is my favorite part.
