Charity

Whenever Christmas time rolls around, there are a few things that many people do. One thing we usually do is to donate our time or money to a worthy charity. I feel that’s a great practice and well worth it. I feel good helping others and knowing I am doing my part to support those who are less fortunate.

I have two favorite charities. One is the Salvation Army and the other is the Goodwill. I feel these organizations play a key role in helping our communities stay healthy. I hope everyone will find a worthy organization to donate their time or money too.

Tax Cuts

It seems that the recent election where republicans made great gains in the house and the senate are paying off for the party. They have effectively forced the Obama administration into extending the tax cuts that were due to expire at the end of the year. The compromise will affect millions of Americans.

Democrats still strongly object to the cuts as they say it will strangle the government’s ability to put money into other programs where it is needed. As for me, I am just glad to know that my taxes won’t be going up anytime soon.

Getting Ready

Christmas is coming up quickly and I must admit that I am not quite prepared for it. Since I have the weekend off from work, I thought it would be a good idea to get some of my shopping done. I started looking around online for some gift ideas when I came across a site called thestainlesssteelstore.com. They had a wide selection of products that I thought would make great presents.

One of the first things I saw reminded me of my uncle Joe. He can be a bit particular and is fussy about what products he brings into his house. When I saw the blomus stainless steel fireplace set, I knew I had a quality product that he would enjoy. I felt pretty secure in the knowledge that he would accept this gift and actually use it.

There were other products I saw that caught my eye. The first was the blomus stainless steel teaset and the other was the blomus stainless steel firepit. Both of these products gave me great gift ideas and I knew just who would get what. It’s good that I have gotten all my shopping done this weekend. I can relax from now until Christmas and know that the people I love will be happy with their gifts. I hope everyone else is as prepared for Christmas as I am.

Growing Mars

Scientists from around the world are working on an unusual possibility. They are saying that one day it may be possible to grow plants on other planets. One of the key planets that scientists are looking at is Mars. They say that there is plenty of evidence that there was water on the planet.

Humans who may be sent to the planet will have to find their own resources to grow the crops. Water would be a huge factor in that. Another factor would be the soil available. One idea may be to grow soilless plants. This can be done and it may be the answer to a growing population on earth that needs more food. I guess we’ll see what happens.

Suggestions

A friend of mine asked me if I would be able to help him out. He was looking for a new car and was a little overwhelmed by the situation. It’s a lot of work and can be very confusing and intimidating for those who are not used to it. I was glad to help and after doing a little research, I made a few suggestions.

The first thing I did was ask him what kind of car he needed. Knowing what you will use the car for will go a long way towards making your decision. He expressed some interest in getting a truck. If that was the case then I would suggest the Chevy Silverado. It’s a good vehicle that is solid and dependable. I might also suggest a Range-Rover. They are good for many things as well.

He also indicated that he may be more interested in something that was a little sportier. In that case, I would suggest the Nissan Altima. There are a number of cars to choose from and knowing what you want is a key. There is always a lot of information and some can be found in the car encyclopedia. It’s a good source of info to help you with your decision. I know my friend will make a good choice and I can’t wait to see him in his new car!
