It’s Now or Never To Buy Myself A Banjo

So far the best starter banjos that I have found online are going for some pretty decent discounts. It feels good taking my time and doing research on finding the best deal ever before placing an order. Last week I discovered a few gift cards that I had received for Christmas and had tucked away so it seems to be a good time to get myself my dream banjo musicians friend. Besides I should be getting a decent tax refund here pretty soon.

This year I promised to use some of the money for something that I would really enjoy, so it’s now or never. It will be nice to be able to play around at night after a long hot day working the farm. They say that this will be an extremely hot and humid summer, ugh!

Christmas Shopping All Done Online This Year

It didn’t take me as long as I thought to find and purchase a wonderful Rickenbacker Guitar via the Internet last week MusiciansFriend.com Rickenbacker. This much anticipated package arrived this morning at my door, which gives me plenty of time to get it wrapped up and put up in the guest room along with the other presents that I plan on taking to my sister’s house tomorrow morning. I haven’t seen anyone on that side of the family since Thanksgiving, People have gotten way too busy and when a major holiday comes around it really messes things up.

I am thrilled with the fact that I got all of my Christmas shopping done online this year. I didn’t have to go to any brick and mortar stores for anything, including the wrapping paper and ribbons. I had plenty of scotch tape and gift labels left over from last year, so I didn’t have to worry about those items, but I’m sure I will need to replenish my supply before next Christmas comes around.

Miss That Warm and Fuzzy Christmas Feeling

If the Ibanez that I ordered doesn’t get here soon I won’t have the time to wrap it and get it in the mail to my nephew in time for Christmas. I’m sure it will but for some reason I’ve gotten myself a bit nervous about the whole deal. Must be that I’m just so beat from working so hard around here lately and with the holidays quickly approaching I tend to get a bit whacked out since my folks passed on and I’ve moved in and taken over the house and the farm and everything that goes along with all of that.

I really miss my folks and warm fuzzy feelings that we really didn’t appreciate to the fullest until it was taken away from us all so suddenly. At least my sister isn’t far from here and she has done her best to keep me included in all of her dinners, get togethers and celebrations. I couldn’t have asked for a better big sister. This year I will actually spend the night before Christmas at her place if I can get everything in order around here for me to be away for the night. It will be nice to wake up Christmas morning and be around family again, instead of waking up here alone as I have been doing for the past several years. Way too depressing.

Musician Friends

Just like last year, I plan on doing the majority of my Christmas shopping without having to go into town and deal with all the hassles that I really dislike about shopping in the old fashioned brick and mortar stores, I have never been into spending time at the local mall, I just don’t understand what all the hoopla is about when it comes to shopping, especially around the holiday season, which is starting earlier and earlier with each passing year,

Most of my immediate family members that I am obligated to purchase gifts for are into musician friends in one way or another so it makes it a bit easier for me to find the perfect music related presents online at my convenience.  At http://www.musiciansfriend.com you can actually call their toll free number 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. PST, Monday – Friday and/or 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. PST, on the Weekends and speak to on of their “Gear Heads” who are very knowledgeable with all of the merchandise that they are offering to their online shoppers. Sometimes it is nice to be able to pick up the phone and talk to an actual human being, without having to leave the house to find what you are looking for.

My Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang

Okay, I have gone ahead and submitted my order for the fender kurt cobain mustang. It has taken a couple of weeks to decide which one to actual commit to purchasing such an extreme gift to myself, but what’s done is done. Considering I really feel the need to play the  guitar, at the end of the day I think I made a good choice.

Now all I have to do is waiting for it to arrive at the post office. They won’t deliver any packages to my mailbox since I live pretty far out in the boonies and the mailbox is almost a 1/4 drive down the driveway and who know who could grab it and drive away with it. So it doesn’t bother me to have to drive to the post office to pick up any packages, it’s only about four miles down the road and the Post Master is a good friend of the family. It’s always good to catch up with what is going on with everyone in town. If something is going on you can bet the Post Master will know before most people.

The Tremolo Pedal Was A Huge Hit

The tremolo pedal that I bought my nephew last Christmas (wow Christmas seems like it was so long ago) has made a big impact on him and his music. Music has always been such a big deal in our families lives and I am glad to help nurture anyone’s interest and abilities in the family, when I can.

The house was always full of music back in the day. My mother didn’t enjoy a quiet house, so there was usually a radio on in various rooms and levels of the house. Something that I try to continue to do here today. I don’t like a quiet house either and since I live hear alone it is a constant battle, while trying to conserve electricity.

Beginner Saxophone Sheet Music

Digging around the basement this weekend I stumbled onto a box that I had not noticed before, it was full of sheet music for various musical instruments that my mother had tucked away for who knows how long. She had even kept some of the beginner saxophone music that my kid brother used to have to practice along to. Boy oh boy, didn’t Kevin hate practicing that sax and the whole family (as well as many of the neighbors) suffered right along with him. Day after day, week after week, month after month…….

Kevin has always been known for practicing the “misery loves company” theory. I can’t wait to see his face when I pull out this sheet music and stick it in his face at the next family gathering. Not sure if that is going to be on Memorial Day or the 4th of July. But I’ll tuck it away until the time is right.

Safety, Common Sense is Involved

I have several friends that ride their Harleys and they all come from different kinds of backgrounds and a few have careers that you wouldn’t imagine them to have, while sporting the tattoos and all that black leather that is essential for any rider. Several times a year, I will hear the sound of Harleys coming down our road and then continue on coming up all the way into the driveway. I end up having quite a good old time with some very interesting folks who have come by for a entertaining visit.

We have heard so many stories of fallen brothers that have been killed or severally injured while riding their bikes, and all of my “Biker” friends seem very adamant about safety issues that are mostly just common sense if you ask me. There are many places no that anyone can go to and purchase all types of motorcycle safety clothing and helmets at great discount offerings along with all types of accessories that play an important part of motorcycle riding.

An Hour of Sandra Bullock

I watched a special on VH1 last night about one of my favorite actresses, Sandra Bullock. I’d seen it before, but only bits and pieces of it, this time I got to see the whole thing. A full  hour of all kinds of stories, pictures and interesting information about this native Virginian from north Arlington.

There is something about Ms Bullock that really floats my boat. I haven’t seen her do a bad job in any of the roles that she has played over the last twenty-five years or so and I hope that she continues to entertain us me for a long time to come.

Organizing and Event Management

Advertising has always been and always will be an issue, you need to get the word out about what you have to offer in order for people to know to come to you for your goods or services. We all know how the Internet has made this issue a much easier task to take on in so many ways. And it’s only getting better and better these days.

This is where companies, organizations and individuals go to to make their fundraising, workshops, meetings, classes or even birthdays, anniversaries, and reunions known to others and where you can go to get tickets and other pertinent info as well.

With the population ever growing and so much going on around us we can all use something like Eventish to make things like this an easier process. If you are interested and have a moment to check this site out to see all that they have to offer I would urge you to take a bit of time and see if it is something that you can use for yourself for some type of event that you are trying to promote or if you are trying to find out information about an event that is all ready scheduled.
