Chlorella

I always find myself often looking and seeing what is out there as far as Herbal Supplements are concerned. I know that I am not eating a well balanced and nutritious diet. Most confirmed bachelors don’t get the necessary foods that are needed for a healthy mind, soul and body, cooking for one is really a chore and a challenge at times and certainly not any fun.

I’ve never been a fan of taking chemically man made vitamins and have always looked for natural herbs and supplements as a way to keep my health in running condition. Now that I have to rely on only myself for the daily running and upkeep of the farm I really need to keep healthy, or things will really fall apart quickly. I’m hoping to get some help come spring, things will really get busy and hectic at that point here.

Chlorella is a good choice for benefits such as, removing toxins, and it reduces cancer risks, while fortifying your body with necessary vitamins and minerals. So I have been thinking on trying this much talked about chlorella and have just found a company by the name of Greenpathsupplement online that sells them at a reasonable price and offers free shipping as well.

Looking For The Perfect Mocha At A Reasonable Cost

It wasn’t all that long ago that the McCafe was the new “product” from McDonald’s and they were advertising it very heavily on local TV. I’ve seen several different commercials recently, and that’s with just the little bit of TV that I’ve watched. According to the local Business Journal, the man who owns most of the McDonald’s franchises in Alabama has spent a WHOLE lot of money remodeling the Alabama restaurants to include a McCafe.

I’m looking forward to visiting a McCafe and trying their coffee. I wonder if it tastes as good as a Starbucks and how much of the flavoring you have to add yourself instead of a trained barista. I’m not optimistic what-so-ever, since every time I drink just a plain old McDonald’s coffee it upsets my stomach for hour after drinking, so I would imagine that it will be the same with their specialty barista drinks.

So far I haven’t found anywhere that makes the hot mocha that I enjoy drinking day or night, summer or winter as well as Starbucks. But seriously someone could go broke frequenting Starbucks. Last time I was at a Starbucks I was really happy to see that they have started their own “Customer Rewards” program so that after a certain amount of purchases you get a free drink. The bad news is that you have to purchase 20 drinks to get a free one. That’s a lot of purchasing going on in order to get a free one. At least with Sheetz you only have to buy 10 in order to get a free one. They are a bit cheaper than Sheetz and are the closest to the Starbucks flavor that I have found anywhere else yet.

Bulletproof Microphones

Since both of our parents were killed over five years ago now, my oldest sister is always stuck playing hostess for most of the major family holiday dinners and get-togethers. Since I am on my own and live the closest to her and her family it only makes sense for me to pitch in where the others really can’t manage to do for a variety of reasons, I try and help out in any way that I can.

Over Christmas it was mentioned that we should try doing some karaoke at the next family dinner, which just so happens to be Easter and that believe it or not,  is only a few short weeks away. My sister does have a karaoke machine but it’s been around the block a few times from the look of it and it doesn’t have the microphone that used to go with that particular karaoke machine. I have been looking at various microphones online in my spare time and have been totally surprised at how many microphones are really out there.

I think I finally decided on the right one, the sm57, but what freaked me out was in the description part of the add it boasts that it is bulletproof and how it stands up to road travel and abuse. Guess these are just an added bonus to the whole deal, I really don’t think anyone in my family would get that crazy during karaoke at my sisters on Easter, but in case they do I will know that the microphone will make it through all right! I can’t wait to share this story on Easter day with the family members that manage to find their way there this year.

Hot Apple Cider

This is fast becoming the type of day where a nice hot cup of apple cider, with a shot of some spiced rum will taste mighty good. I was all set to make myself a cup when I noticed that it wasn’t even noon yet and decided that I should wait a few more hours at least before indulging. I’m not a serious drinker what so ever, but on cold and wet days such as this, it sure would be a nice treat and certainly only one shouldn’t be an issue. Some warmth on the inside sounds like heaven at this point.

For the most part I rely on hot coffee, but some times a guy needs to switch it up and I’ve never really been into drinking hot tea, even though they have a trillion different varieties and flavors out there on the market these days.  So a hot cup of apple cider once in a while is a nice change of pace with or without the spiced rum. Of course after dinner while kicking back on the sofa watching a game or the news a nice cold beer always tastes good no matter what the weather is like outside.

Lazy Susans

This year I am hoping that my sister will really love the 24 inch kidney lazy susan that I found out she was eyeballing back a few months ago. Last month I managed to find and order the one that she was all excited about online at a really decent price, so that is one gift that I was able to place a check mark beside on my long list of presents that need to be bought, wrapped and ready for the family Christmas get-to-together that has been at my sisters house ever since our parents passed away.

It is a bitter sweet day for all of us, but as long as we are together we seem to get through it. It’s a lot of work for my sister each year, but I think she really enjoys it all after all is said and done and hopefully this lazy susan will be put to good use for all of the holidays from here on out.

The Labor Day Rains

It looks like I’ll be cooking dinner for 3 tonight since my sister and her son will be stopping by on their way home from work to pick up the two airpots that were left here last weekend from our Labor Day family picnic. The rains came so quickly that we really scrambled to get everything covered up and back inside as fast as we could and the kitchen just turned into a nightmare of wet, cold food and people.

At least the rains waited until the end of the day. For the most part it was a good time. The next time we will all be getting together will be in November for Thanksgiving which is coming quicker than any of us really want it to get here, because after Thanksgiving comes Christmas and I don’t know anyone looking forward to all that goes along with Christmas.

Critters Everywhere I Turn

Over the years we have had numerous wild and interesting animals that have found their way into the back yard. Everything from opossums, raccoons, ground hogs, ducks, skunks, and even a wounded dear have ended up spending time in our side and backyard, much to our amusement and entertainment.Last week a neighbor was coming to our back door to return something that she had borrowed from my mother’s kitchen years ago and had to back off because she saw something on the porch that didn’t look like any type of dog or cat that she had ever seen before and she turned around and went back home and immediately called me on the phone to let me know that there was some type of critter that kept her from coming to the door.

Come to find out that it was a porcupine, a good sized one at that, and I spent a good 1/2 hour trying to catch the darn thing so that I could box it up and take it and release it back into a good wooded area. I even called animal control, and being that it was late at night they where closed and I had to leave a message, by the time we got a return call I had already taken care of the situation. The man didn’t believe me that is had been a porcupine and he actually came over to the house to discuss it, and it proved to be good thing that we took a picture of the darned thing before I released it, it was the only way that we could get him to believe that it actually was a porcupine. And the fact that I still had a few of it’s quills that had fallen off of it during all of the activities of the chase and capture.

So I have come to the conclusion that we are in need of a few good animal traps, because I am way too old to be chasing these wild critters around any more. I checked the Internet and found a good company called Havahart that offers a GREEN approach to critter control with a better way for the environment, more “earth friendly” and a more humane way for the animal.

I’ve decided to purchase their Havahart Easy Set Raccoon Trap, which I believe should be suitable for the majority of animals that we have had to deal with these past years. The only other animal that I can think of that hasn’t shown up at our place, beside lions, tigers, and bears, is an armadillo, it could be just a matter of time and this cage would even handle that, if needed.

Liposuction

Cosmetic surgery is becoming more of an option for people, it is so much more available and becoming more affordable, and of course financing is all ways an option for these types of popular procedures.

We are finding ourselves a society over flowing with obesity, young and old, a very critical health situation that is overloading the systems due to the problems that are related with over weight and obesity issues.

With the advancement of technology, liposuction has become a necessity for so many folks, and. finding a reputable surgeon in so very important. Who hasn’t heard the horror stories of cosmetic surgery gone bad these past years, doing your homework and some good research is a must.

The Internet comes into play here, with all that it has to offer, such a good researching tool for issues such as this. I have a good friend that has been over in the U.K. for the last ten years, that we keep in touch with utilizing email, for the most part. He has always had a weight problem and is excited with the prospect of taking advantage of liposuction.

I’m glad to hear that he took his time and did a good amount of research and found a company that has a website of Mya.co.uk, and he is scheduled for this procedure sometime next month. They offer a good finance program that he is willing to commit to and is very happy with their prices.

I wish him all the luck in the world, he will only miss a few days of work and will need to commit to a good diet and a good exercise regiment, to keep the weight off for good.

The Global Food Shortage Crises

I was reading on the Internet an article titled “How to end the Global Food Shortage.”  The article was explaining that the US Government subsidizes the US farmer fifty one cents per gallon to divert their corn to biofuels.  The article was also explaining that a lot of the third world countries could grow a lot more of their own food if they could get a little bit of help with getting good seed, fertilizer, and irrigation techniques.

I was very disappointed to read that the US Government was subsidizing the farmers to divert their corn from the food market.  Other plants can be used to make biofuel that are not part of the world’s food supply.  Is there no end to the stupidity of the Government?

Easter

This Easter I am taking all most the entire day off from the farm to spend time with my family and have our traditional Easter dinner at my sister’s house. After I tend to the milking of the cows and a few other minor chores are done I’ll be off and running. It is supossed to be a great weather day and I’m really looking forward to time away from the drudgery of the farm.

May you and yours have a blessed Easter Holiday.
