Muscle Cars – Making A Come Back

My good friend, that lives only a few miles from me, it totally into restoring cars. Many the old muscle cars that we are seeing more and more of on the roads these past couple of years. You can be that the driver of the car will at least be in their 40’s and most likely having a mid life crisis, much like the guys you see driving the old souped up Corvettes all these years that we have all laughed at watching them cruise down the road.

It is so cool that so many of the older cars are making a come back. Mustang’s right now seem to be ruling the road, once again, and now I’m seeing some pretty cool Chevy Camaro that are making a come back. These newer models are great to see making a comeback and it appears that there are plenty of parts available. CARiD is one of the places that you can find the chevy camaro accessories. They have been in the business since 2003 and are based out of Edison, NJ. My buddy relies on them a lot when he needs custom and OEM parts for his many projects that keep him busy day in and day out.

Dozens of Reviews

Afters looking at over a dozen different online reviews and music stores I have decided a Martin 12 String Acoustic guitar would be a great birthday/Christmas present for my nephew this year. He has been using an old beat up guitar that his father found for him at a flea market years ago and I think it’s time that he had a nicer acoustic guitar to play on. He is a good kid and if strumming a guitar keeps him busy and out of trouble then so be it!

Short People – The Song

It seems as if songwriter Randy Newman didn’t win a whole heck of a lot of short friends when he wrote his 1977 hit “Short People”. The song was a hilarious parody, from a guy who was not vertically challenged. Randy Newman is 5 foot, 11 inches. Go figure.

A Mexican Telecaster

Interesting to find out that this Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar is often referred to as a mexican telecaster, a guitar that came out in the 50’s and is still a popular electric guitar that is still in demand in the music industry.

My oldest brother had one of these electric guitars back in the day. I will have to ask him if he still has it or even if he still plays any guitar at all.

Whatever

Football, or fusbal, or to the common man, soccer! A grand sport indeed. Seems to me to be a glorified form of kickball with a hockey net. Not that it isn’t something that takes a bit of stamina, strength and some wicked kicking skills, but what I just don’t get is why everywhere in the world that they play the sport, the spectators get a bit violent, to say the least, over it!

I saw on the news a while back where they had a game in Mexico and the spectators attacked the opposing team, who barely managed to escape into the stadium tunnels. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why people could get so riled up over a glorified game of kickball.

It’s All About Gold

Since I live and work on a farm there is no gold IRA  or gold 401k for me in the near future.  From what I’ve been reading online, the big thing now is gold being the number one alternative for the Pension Plans that most white collar workers have at their disposal through their employer. Times are increasingly becoming more uncertain, while gold is always a good investment and always has been.

Nubz Dental Treats

I have been a member of our local Costco for as long as I can remember. Every now and then I’ll go into town and take a trip to Costco and fill up with all kinds of goodies. They do have great prices if you don’t mind buying large items and items in bulk.  I always come out of there with a few hundred dollars less in my wallet, but I’m usually stocked up pretty well for my effort.

The dogs here really enjoy the  Nubz Dental Treats that they sell there, they even have coupons for these healthy dog treats in their monthly publications that I always take advantage of.  These treats are all natural, good for the teeth and there dog breath that can some times knock a buzzard of off a manure wagon!  I like that they are made in the U.S.A. and are made with real chickena and are even Gluten-free, which are both a big deal these days.

Meet The Brides

Ever since childhood I remember hearing tales and references made in regarding to the mail order Russian Brides, but I don’t know that it was still a common belief and practice in today’s world. My sister has been known to try and play match maker for me, she insists that I need a wife, or at least a live in companion, to help around the place, that is so very overwhelming for one person (that would be me) to deal with on a daily basis. So she continues to look around both on and off line for various ways for me to connect with other people, with a heavy emphasis on the women, and has forwarded the link to Loversplanet.com to look into the meeting of “available” Russian women.

Russian dating is seems is still alive and well and we have the Internet to thank for making the whole process an easier task and a whole new twist on the matter. It seems that there is millions of people in the U.K., Canada, Australia and the U S. that are meeting and marrying Russian women.  Russian woman are known for being good looking and have high family values already in place, and have a track record for success.

This is a terrific recording by the old country singer Doye O’Dell from the late forties. I found the record, a while back at a flea market paid $1 for it and took it home because I liked the funny title, then I went to YouTube.com and found it there!  It’s a great tune, inspired by Irish music.

North Carolina Furniture

One of the things that I am determined to keep around this place is the north carolina furniture that my mother worked so hard to find and to purchase. Back in the day when there wasn’t the Internet to find and order items from, a person would have to travel a long way to find some things that you just could find locally.

My parents took several trips down to North Carolina to pick out the perfect living room furniture for mother to decorate this old house with. At least it wasn’t too long of a drive for them to handle and sometimes that would incorporate a visit with some distant relatives that lived down around that area as well.

Mother was looking forward to taking another trip down south to pick up some new furniture for the dining before they both passed on. One day I’ll get around to replacing the very old and well used and worn furniture in there myself. But right now I have other things to deal with and besides that old dining room table holds a lot of memories that I’m just not ready to part with.
